They revealed cards on the weekends during the Hearthstone championships... that's how we found out about Infestate and the other cards that were revealed that day...
Yeah man, maybe I'm too angry hehehe. Garbage was too much, but on turn 5, I think this card is bad, It's too slow, too expensive to help you comeback in a bad game. I like mage class so much, I'm disappointed
It's mainly for mid to late game. It procs flame wake and mana wyrm and is great against Control Priest and Control Warrior when you're running out of steam from previous combos.
I'm sure the Mage cards will be awesome, hence why they are waiting so long to reveal them. I'm looking forward to seeing our Legendary and more Mage minions, that hopefully tutor more spells, either by battlecry or Deathrattle.
Some classes have perfect counters, but not all, and most classes don't have cards to remove him at the very beginning of the game, him being at such high health.
If as a Priest you have to play Deathlord early vs midrange or control deck - you have a tough game ahead of you.
And again: "What can class X do about card Y in a Z matchup" - Fiery War Axe, anyone?
A ton of Priests play Deathlord on turn 1 with coin, then buff it next turn worth Velen's Chosen /Power Word: Shield. Even if you played Fiery War Axe the very next turn, they could easily heal it next turn. At the very least, you need to rely on Fiery War Axe and Execute in your opening hand, which very rarely happens. And by the time you're able to remove it, Priest has fully built up their board.
Now, I'm not saying I disagree with you per se, but the chances of having something to remove it right away before Priests Make it impenetrable wall and build their board up are slim. And Warriors have the best chance to remove it. .. other classes aren't so lucky.
Paladin has nothing unless you combine Equality and Consecration /wild Pyromancer/Muster for Battle but at best you need 4 mana to kill one minion.
Rogues have Assassinatebut again that is too costly and most Rogues don't run it.
Mage would have to Flame Cannon it twice, but you'd lose major card advantage. Best case is a Polymorph, but you have to wait until turn 4 to remove it, by then Priest will be set up.
All that said, I'm glad Deathlord is being rotated out-- good riddance! Lol
Deathlord is also super broken in Priest as its often turned into a 12+ health taunt minion next turn after it's played...
Having played it from Priest side countless times - I can point out that some classes have perfect counters to it. Which makes up for overall balance, imo. I'm sad to see it go from Standard.
And before we go "What can class X do about card Y in a Z matchup", think - it always been that way.
Some classes have perfect counters, but not all, and most classes don't have cards to remove him at the very beginning of the game, him being at such high health.
The last few days the card releases have been throttled. Tuesday they only revealed 2 cards and yesterday only 1 card. Why are they allowing siren with the reveals all of a sudden?
Zombie Chow definitely shouldn't be in Standard because its so good that it invalidates the existence of every other Control 1-drop they ever decide to make.
Plz, share all those control 1-drops that blizzard printed in the last 2 years that were overshadowed by Zobie Chow? If you think that will change, than maybe it should rotate out but I'm not really optimistic.
How can you call Injured Kvaldir anything other than a control card? It was designed specifically as a 1-drop for Priest. Pit Snake and Buccaneer are both VERY powerful control tools. If you don't know that you've clearly never tinkered with them as I have. They just so happen to also be good aggressively.
I see no reason why Tentacle of N'Zoth can only be used in patron. It has a lot more potential than just that and is very powerful against aggressive decks. I didn't say Tentacle of N'Zoth is a Zombie Chow-esque card. The two cards operate very differently. What I said that it could be USED as a Zombie Chow-esque card as in, its a one drop you use to counter aggro.
Easy. Only deck Injured Kvaldir is played in is Desert Camel hunter. Is that a control deck??? Pit Snake and Buccaneer are classic rogue tempo cards; usually very aggressive. Is that a control deck?
I think we can agree to disagree about Tentacle of N'Zoth. We will see in a couple of weeks who was right. I think its unplayable as agrro counter.
Tentacle of N'zoth can be used in multiple decks to counter aggro. I'm planning on print it in my control paladin deck to combo with Equality!
I'm so sick of Deathlord. Will be nice to hit Mill Rogue in the face. Over and over and over again.
I take the exact opposite viewpoint, being a Mill Rogue fan.
I am concerned that the loss of Deathlord will be a massive blow for my pet deck, so this is the #1 card which I'd like to see return to standard.
Indeed, I'm not quite sure how anyone can be so frustrated by Mill Rogue that they are desperate to see Deathlord go? I mean, you only get paired up with Mill Rogue perhaps one game in fifty. When you beat Mill, you beat it quite swiftly and, when you lose to it, it is typically after a very interesting struggle. Mill Rogue never just ups and batters you.
Deathlord is also super broken in Priest as its often turned into a 12+ health taunt minion next turn after it's played...

I heard they were turning her into a Priest-only card and making it 3 mana.... 😉

New reveals are being throttled. We have been seeing 3 or 4 new cards a day and lately that number has gone down to 1-2 a day.... what gives?

It'll be fun to play this right before Brawl.
