posted a message on Am I the only one who thinks Rogue is a problem?
    Quote from SinAscendant >>

They're decently strong right now sure, but only because people refuse to run anything to counter them. Run AoE. Run taunts. Run heals. Mulligan for better cards.

Been playing Warrior a lot recently and I have all these things, unfortunately my Rogue opponent still has a double deadly poison/nitro boosted weapon on top of sinister strikes and eviscerates (and pen flinger). So even if I happen to remove every single minion before it touches me they can still burst you down over time. As for taunts - you need multiple and high health because they can just sap a big taunt. Now if I drew all my early removal and armour gain cards and started slotting in double ooze (and drew them at the right time) then I might be good but honestly it's just too easy for Rogue to draw out most of their deck and just push through damage.

I'm not stupid to believe the deck is unbeatable but it has weapon burst, damage from hand (spells) and stealth minions which are 3 of the most uninteractive forms of damage (it is only missing charge). I think as others have mentioned the biggest problem is Secret Passage, in the past these kinds of decks never had such insane draw power and so you could run them out of steam (think aggro hunter or demon hunter) the fact that most damage is from weapons and stealth minions also means it's better to play decks that completely ignore that and just race them.

posted a message on Old Ysera's Card Pool Changes Coming Soon - With Dust Refund

control decks don't give a shit about a 1 mana sap on turn 10, they already have plenty of removal. it also depends how the new ysera adds cards to hand. it's very unusual to have hand space to add 5 cards so you will burn some of them and possibly cards from your own deck from overdraw.

less of course, but you can't recapture the excitement of having a decent digital card game, so not really a fair comparison. also not sure why you ask about 5 years, i was in beta in 2013 and release was 2014

posted a message on Needing opinion on control warlock

yeah hsreplay and viscious syndicate suggest it's real bad deck to climb with, it is a challenge though and it's satisfying when you do win.

i've been playing a control lock deck exclusively for a while now (trying to get 1000 wins warlock) it gets shit on by aggro rogue, burn mage and hunter all of which are quite popular. does sort of ok vs ramp paladin if you slot in hellfires for tip the scales turn, if they don't get an early abbess it becomes a lot more manageable though since you have plenty of strong removal.

posted a message on Paladin is so disgusting right now

Only High Abbess Alura makes this deck strong, somewhat similar to old decks that high rolled by playing Barnes early back in the day. rest of the deck is too fair and doesn't really get much power from Paladin class cards.

posted a message on Control is dead because...

control decks don't work because what is called aggro now has too many ways to generate or draw cards, in the past you could run these kind of decks out resources and leverage card efficiency, those days are long gone. even if tickatus didn't exist control, would be the weakest archetype still.

posted a message on Surrendering the first round in duels

no because that's the whole point of the format, it's by far the least competitive one and it's current design has very high variance. if you are doing it purely to chase 12 win achievement i get it, but otherwise you are just making the meta more stale for everyone because you aren't willing to play with less than optimal treasures.

posted a message on Duels Mid-Season Update - New Treasures, Hero Powers, Cards & More

I expect Shaman will get a lot more popular with the no overload passive. Shaman is also quite good vs Deathrattle Hunter because of it's access to cheap devolve and silence effects. DH will still be obnoxious and it's surprising they didn't nerf it's burst potential this time. Bomb warrior might be another contender, shuffling bombs would seem to be quite strong in the early rounds especially.

posted a message on From my experience: Warlock/Mage Disproportionately Strong

Hunter is way easier than most other classes because their deathrattle hero power is basically as strong as a treasure passive. Of course they are susceptible to transform effects but pretty much reserved to Mage as Shamans don't seem to exist anymore. You can just get buried under stats if you can't deal with all their deathrattles (it gets much worse as life totals increase).

You can of course beat them with weapon Rogue or Demon Hunter, classes which have enough ways to stave off aggression and have insane burst potential, but again it gets harder to win with those classes the higher the life totals.

I agree Warlock is also very strong, 1 mana draw a card and create a Silverware Golem can't be bad right? The strength almost entirely comes down to how many strong discard buckets you get along the way though and so isn't very reliable.

posted a message on So, what do you think about Duels?

Meta has gone veeery aggro lately with much more refined lists than before. Good luck playing anything but top tier classes (Shaman, Mage DH) and getting past 3 wins. Matches are very coin flippy early on, so if you don't have high tempo cards in your starter deck on top of one the stronger hero powers you will get burst down before you can even make an impact.

They need to change something about the starting health, not necessarily just change it directly but change something so the early wins don't favour aggro strats so much.

    Before my first Duels run:

By the third run, having seen almost constant Demon Hunters:

The DH starting treasure definitely needs to be changed. There are only a few classes that can deal with the tempo from 3 big demons for 4 mana, especially early in a run. I will say though I rarely see DH at high wins, recently it's been a lot of Shamans and Mages. Shaman hero power is kinda stupid early too, since they can threaten Bloodlust lethal very easily at little cost and the Totem that casts random spells is way better in this mode because the spell pool is really small and mostly positive.

After reading the entirety of the thread this is a high quality "I whine about their whining thread". For everyone to lazy to read the essay, you are welcome.

But honestly i am always curious about these threads and make the same question without never taking an answer. Why do you care?

I can undestard when someone is salty with any game he plays. Regardless whether the rage is justified or not, it has to do with the  game he spends his time on and affects him.But why on earth would anyone care about the opinions of others on a game they enjoy.Do you think that game is great and blizzard is fair? Then more power to you.But getting annoyed about what random dudes and gals say about the game you enjoy...sorry but that is pathetic.

I think it's that the poster's ego is attached to the Hearthpwn community. If they see a lot of negative comments they feel like they are personally attacked so do all they can to defend/protect it. You see it fairly often from fans of other games too.

Shaman with devolving missiles, hex, plague of murlocs and earth shock makes short work of pure libram buffing paladin

All of those are decent but Plague can backfire sometimes (they can get pretty high stats semi regularly). Diligent Notetaker is really nice here as well for the extra removals as well as Wandmaker  and Cobalt Spellkin

This happened with Galakrond Shaman too. Although it was slightly different in that opponent swapped, played my Galakrond then next turn both deck and hand swapped twice and everything was swapped permanently.
