Got just enough dust to bring in a new deck. I think I would have a lot of fun running this.
However my question is how is it on the ladder? And what are your tough matchups?
Currently ranked 8th diamond and looking for a fun deck to continue climbing with.
I currently run ramp paladin, but its not much fun for me anymore. I also run highlander mage but get wrecked by these warlocks and also think to myself how fun that would be to play.

I don't know if Tickatus warlock will help you climb more efficiently than ramp paladin, i'm not that high in ranks but I think most opponents are aggro decks right ? I think from that point you need to make a choice wether you wanna keep climbing or play fun decks, especially if you have to craft these new decks.
At least wait until you get to diamond 5 to switch decks if you're having success with ramp paladin and really want to climb.
I played control warlock last season and it is fun, but it's not effective at all. It's a weak control deck considering how refined aggro is, and Tickatus is not the killer blow most people think it is - I still lost games to slow players who engineered wins off their value generation. Craft at your peril, it's a weak ladder deck.
My advice is to stay away from Warlock until core set (aka soft rework) is introduced. Right now entire class is outdated in many ways (both aggro and control archetypes) and pretty much hopeless. At this point, kit-wise Warlock is no doubt the worst class in the game, boring, limited and very predictible (opponent always knows exactly what he can and cannot do due to his almost non-existent card generation and no RNG).
yeah hsreplay and viscious syndicate suggest it's real bad deck to climb with, it is a challenge though and it's satisfying when you do win.
i've been playing a control lock deck exclusively for a while now (trying to get 1000 wins warlock) it gets shit on by aggro rogue, burn mage and hunter all of which are quite popular. does sort of ok vs ramp paladin if you slot in hellfires for tip the scales turn, if they don't get an early abbess it becomes a lot more manageable though since you have plenty of strong removal.
You can reach rank 5 with it (thanks to win streaks) but beyond that not really. Last month I've reached rank 3 than dropped back 5 and finally got stuck with literally perfect 50% winrate.
Everything you will choose to play you will be punished, the best deck you will craft the counter you will get, its the the game as it is,so go aggro with a cheap deck, everything is the same dont spend anything ,there isnt best deck, if they want you to lose you will lose even if the opponent plays only normal cards.

What are you missing from control warlock ?

I can imagine that weapon based, aggressive decks can be a problem. You‘d need good heals and fill the rest of the mana slots with taunts as well.
