I was thinking of testing replacing a Cat Trick for Freezing Trap. Cat Trick is a great card, but I felt like it was very situational and if your opponent knows what he is doing, he can play around it or play into on purpose for some kind of AoE. If you don't have Cat Trick, maybe try adding a Freezing Trap and Prince Valanar was something I liked that was suggested in another comment.
With this deck I never felt it was an auto loss against anything. I would look forward to playing out games knowing something very powerful would come from either some Deathstalker Rexxar build-a-beast or a crazy Tundra Rhino combo turn.
There definitely were victories over cubelocks and wins over both murloc and non murloc aggro paladins. Honestly secret mage was one of my easiest matchups. One of the best things I did many times against secret mage was when they play Counterspell, I can just have one of my secrets countered for 2 mana and have it still upgrade my in hand Lesser Emerald Spellstone and obviously trigger Counterspell and protect Lesser Emerald Spellstone when I do play it. Always control the board and take as little damage as possible against mage.
I enjoyed the video, thank you for your time and interest. There were games where I would coin Greater Emerald Spellstone into turn 5 Greater Emerald Spellstone. That usually ended in a GG. Also had games where I was able to charge for 12 and even 14 with Greater Emerald Spellstone and Tundra Rhino. Definitely love the mana curve when playing this deck. Houndmaster Shaw looks to be an interesting potential addition to this deck.
1. I mentioned I got to rank 5 with control warlock then from 5 to legend using this deck.
2. I had many games where I beat Control/Dragon priest and Cube/Rin warlock decks. Priest was definitely my least favorite class to play against, especially the ones of the BIG variety, but again there were plenty games where I won.
3. Murloc paladin was actually one of my favorite matchups. Mulligan for smalls beasts, Explosive Trap, and Deathstalker Rexxar. Always keep control of the board because you know that Sunkeeper Tarim is coming.
4. As far as grinding, I was surprised at how fast this deck climbed the ladder. I only deranked one time from rank 3 back to 4, then from there all the way to legend without dropping a rank. This deck went +26 wins over losses in a short amount of time/games. Obviously in the current rank 5 - legend meta, it is a legitimate competitive standard deck.
Thank you. Doesn't it heavily affect your Emerald Spellstone by missing 2 out of 7 secrets? I can definitely see how Flanking Strike can work with the beast combos including Tundra Rhino and Kill Command, but personally the secrets and spellstones have won a lot of games for me and I wouldn't suggest removing secrets.
Someone in the comments below suggested adding Tracking. I think its a good addition, but you are going to sacrifice damage by playing it. Also it is RNG on what comes up. It could be risky, as far as not getting what you want or getting 3 good cards and having to only pick one of them.

I do think it would make a good addition honestly. I don't think I have the card, but if I did, I would definitely test it out.

A good example of how a game can go with this deck. Thank you, I appreciate your time into making this video and playing this deck.

More like 1 2 3 5 6. No 4 costs Sam.

Congrats on legend Jason! Good to hear other people are having a lot of success with this deck. You're welcome for the post. GG. GL.

I never "called it my own midrange list." I posted this as the deck that got me to legend. Thanks for the support.

I pretty much always traded with Shaman, until I can overtake them with Call of the Wild. Even if the minion is a Healing Totem, I would end up killing it rather than face because I know they run Abusive Sergeants and Flametongue Totems to buff them, trade, and take control. Basically you are going to fight for board control throughout the game. I would sometimes even Deadly Shot or Kill Command their Totem Golems. Also especially kill their Wrath of Air Totem because they run Maelstrom Portals, Lightning Storms, and Spirit Claws.

I just looked at that site. It is very similar, but not exactly the same. I'm posting this as the deck that got me to legend. Thank you.
