I'm extremely dubious when a newly made account, makes their first deck on the site, claims to have hit Legend in the title of the deck (even Top 1000 in this case), doesn't proceed to even attempt to prove that claim, and doesn't explain anything about the deck whatsoever. It just doesn't seem believable in any way.
I usually play Wild, but I have a soft spot for Secret Mage decks, so I couldn't resist trying this out. Sadly though, at Rank 15 in Standard, there's nothing but Even Shamans, Odd Paladins, Odd Rogues, and Secret/Spell Hunters - which are all like cancer to Secret Mage at the moment (especially ones with no board clears like this one), so I couldn't give it a fair chance there, and ended up losing 4 matches in a row with it, to precisely the aforementioned classes. I did try it in Casual, and won a couple, but Casual doesn't really prove anything. The deck does look like it would be decent though, just not for climbing through those Ranks
I've used my Secret Mage Deck to get to Rank 3, and with my Even Shaman Deck I got to Rank 3 very briefly and then back down, but I can't seem to get further. Any suggestions?
It's most definitely not a joke. I really do enjoy the new expansion and the synergies that it brought along with the new cards.
I mostly play Paladin, Mage and Warlock, so maybe that's the difference.
I also only play Wild (because I don't see the point in limiting myself), so that might also be a factor.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion though, and I respect that you stand by your principles by not playing - I have done the same in earlier expansions.
I am absolutely loving this expansion. The new cards have caused so many awesome decks to emerge, and they are great fun to play/play against because of all the cool new mechanics and synergies.
I haven't really laddered much in Standard this season, but when I tried playing Odd Paladin with Prince Liam, I found that Witch's Cauldron was a really good addition to the deck, to create more tempo. That might just be down to my extremely impatient/aggressive play style though, so it might not be the best solution for everyone.
My 2 quests from the past 2 days are "Righteousness" (Play 20 Paladin class cards) and "I Can't Even..." (Play 40 odd-cost cards), so I'm gonna try it out.
How far have you gotten with your decks this season? If you haven't reached at least Rank 5, then I highly recommend you try my Secret Mage deck (the blue text is a link, but I'll also show it below), which is a surefire deck for getting to Rank 5 very easily.
I'll let you know how I do with the updated deck - and if you're on EU, I'd love for you to add me on Battle.net,so we can talk more about decks and strategies like this. I could also teach you more about how to use the text editor on this website to make your decks/comments look/work a lot better ;-)
I reached Rank 5 (with extreme ease I might add) using Secret Mage deck but it doesn't seem to be viable above Rank 5, so now I'm looking for ideas for a new deck to keep going, hopefully to Legend.
I also tried making an Odd Rogue deck but it's not working very well because I don't have the right Pirate cards to make the necessary synergies for an Odd Pirate Rogue deck to work, or the dust to craft them.
I have been trawling through HSReplay to find good decks, but since numbers only tell half the story, I wanna hear from you guys what you use to both climb the ladder and have fun while doing so?
Usually almost exclusively Paladin and Warlock (both have been golden for years), but lately I've played a lot of Mage as well, and am only 50 wins away from golden with that as well now.

is the point of turning your health to armour so you can heal back up fast and then have 60 hit points or something? sounds like a cool idea if it works.
I guess paladin's have the potential to heal, so it might be.
Yeah, I actually also tried making a healing paladin deck like that last night, because I thought it sounded really cool in theory. But once again, I wasn't able to do it justice when testing it. I will do some testing on it tonight, and possibly upload the resulting deck after some tweaks if it ends up being decent.

You've got the 15 upvotes you asked for, can we get the Mulligan and guide?

Isn't this the exact same deck as your version 1?

Looks like a fun deck! I think it's more of a Secret Odd Mage deck, than a Tempo deck though, but that's just semantics.
I've played a few games with it in the high ranks, and it seems to be holding up quite nicely.

This looks interesting. How's the testing going?
