I played a lot of plague dk in titans and badlands and it was very fun. It's just a satisfying deck overall and the fact that you can shut down reno is icing on the cake. When literally 2/3 of my games post November were vs reno decks that ruined my fun, it felt ecstatic to shut it down. In badlands, plagues weren't even that good vs reno decks though... When I played reno hunter, I won most of my matches vs plague.
I'm not a fan of current DK though because I think they ruined the class. They reduced the rune requirements of all the triple and double runes so now they just all play rainbow DK. Really stupid how you can run the plagues in rainbow now and have it make sense. I loved rainbow back in festival of legends, but now the deck plays completely different and just plays like your typical "class legendary spam" every other freaking midrange/control deck does. I HATE Reska, the Pit Boss and The Primus. I really hope they revert the rune changes. The rune system was the greatest idea the HS team had in years, but people on the forums whined so they're doing away with it. And now DK: the class that had the most deck variety plays the same deck all the time. Good job guys!
That is actually a very good point you make there. You hit the nail on the head. I think those chances in runes occured in a period when i wasn't playing, because i dont have an active memory of it. But it seemed like the plagues can be played in rainbow, double blood decks and it is just very frustrating. The fact that they plague decks had some exclusions of other powerfull cards was the balancing mechanism.

bro, that comment made me LOL. That would be hilarious. I remember when people made a meme of putting the screenshot of his hand secretly inside of other images. Good times

oh nvm, you pick one now.

Oh boy, just what the game needs: MORE board clears that silence deathrattles. Cool. Now we'll do even less minion trading. Thanks blizz! And the lore with sir finley makes total sense...
I can't wait to play even more reno games that take 20-30 minutes and are decided by RNG cards like The Prison of Yogg-Saron.

Cool. Just what the game needs: MORE reno synergy. Idk about you guys, but I'm floating around plat-diamond. Everyone whines about naga demon hunter. Ive gone against that deck maybe 4 times this entire expansion, but over 2/3 of EVERY game ive played this expansion has been vs a reno deck. On top of that, a third of those games were 40 card reno renathol decks... The reno 'deck-building restriction' isnt enough of a restriction. The game has been 'play mid-ranged/control all game using a deck of low-synergy high impact cards and then utilize your colossal minion/titan/other copy paste late game legendary strategy in a more efficient way than your opponent can play theirs.' The reno mechanic works into that game-plan perfectly so you effectively lose nothing with most strategies by running 1 copy of each card. All it does is restrict deck creativity and meme deck viability. So bored of this mechanic and my most played deck this expansion is reno hunter...

wait you actually got that??? it's 100$ after you factor in that you need to buy diamond flint right?

Im happy about the nerfs, but when they revealed Maw and Pa for this expansion, I said day one that "its a really cool card, but theyre guaranteed going to buff it by making it 1 blood rune only and then it's going to be in every lame triple blood control deck and be infuriating" I hope that's not the buff, but I'm 99% sure it will be. And why are they buffing Elise??? Control priest is already insane, boring to play and even more boring to play against, and the reno variant, although less played is even worse. Theres even an achievement to summon 20 mana of stuff with it. The card is designed to be stupid and high rolly in the worst way. Ive had that played on me like 4 times and all 4 times, it summoned 2 titans and 2 colossals...
Also why are they nerfing Pyrotechnician?? I'm aware of crazy stuff you can do with it, but dude, I've never faced the deck. Don't nerf things no one plays. Nerf Reno and Astalor: the 2 most broken cards in the format that I literally see played in 70% of my games...

The idea of banning classes has been a talking point for years. They shouldn't ever do it and here's why: The meta (is supposed to, but usually isn't) is like an ecosystem. Theres control/grinder decks, aggro decks and midranged decks which are all broad categories. Control decks are supposed to beat ultra-agressive decks, aggro decks beat midranged decks and midranged beat control decks. At least that's supposed to be how it works. The most annoying and vocal players on forums are the ones who play nothing but net control decks and insessently whine about how broken aggro is no matter what the meta actually is. However, we NEED aggro in the game because it forces control decks to be less greedy and it forces slower decks to actually run early game minions. In metas where aggro is really weak, the control decks dominate and play a bunch of extremely oppressive overtuned legendary spams. The entire year of the raven was a control deck fiesta and almost every powerful deck was "cheat out big taunt minion early, then summon 40 mana worth of taunts at least 2 times. It was freaking awful and if you didn't play during that year and think "wow that sounds like a fun control heaven", you'd be mistaken. Because not only were the games all 20-30 minutes long of misery, only certain classes could compete and those same decks (like cube warlock) were played at nauseum.
What does this have to do with class banning? Easy. If you could ban a class, everyone would just play warlock and ban the strongest aggro deck then just make the greediest deck in the game. You'd see even less minions on the board than we do now which is already too few. The only minions that would ever see play would be the same boring class legendary spam (colossals, titans, astalor, etc.) and all minions would be giant ones that you cant value trade against. It would be total cancer AND make the game cost way more because the type of control deck I described is typically the most expensive deck in the game to craft.

cool. Here's another way to build the "ramp, gain a million armor, play legendary card and 50 mana worth of stuff in 1 turn to win the game." deck that has been the druid meta for the past 6 years. sooooooo fun. Man, so excited to play against the 13th version of this exact same deck. And I cant wait to see blizzard do 3 different patches to fix wild after these 2 druid cards break wild for the 7th time because they felt the compulsive need to print more broken AF druid cards. Gonna be really fun when Guff deals 20 damage with 1 card or gains 40 armor.
