Yes, Elise works because it is a card draw (the map) and a 6/6 taunt (monkey). The monkey's effect is stronger because it can give you any legendary available in the game and also multiple copies of it. While is "weaker" since it needs a bigger set-up, Elise has the "win-condition" status while Malchezaar is just 5 more cards which could be awesome cards or bad cards.
Which raises one important question: Is it possible to actually see which cards are been shuffled? If yes than this card jumps from a 5/10 to like a 7/10 in the awesome scale since you can adapt your game plan to whatever card you draw
One random spell on turn 1 is not really that strong.
One random spell on turn 10+ for 1mana could literally win you the game. That's why this card will see play. Because people will draw pyro/fireball for lethal, ice block/frost nova to stall, poly for removal and the list goes on. It's a good card with no downsides. It's not broken but it's good enough
edit.: "why don't you add the spell instead of a 1/1?" because that spell won't transform itself into flamestrike when needed or fireball or arcane missiles etc etc etc it's more conssistent yes but sometimes in this game you don't need consistency. You need luck.
Just putting the spell is the same that getting it at turn 10 than getting a 1/1 then RNG the spell..
let's say you replace this card for flamestrike you top deck this card, and it's not flamestrike what you get would you rather top deck flamestrike when you need it.. or top deck this card which gives you an unknown card?
Webspinner is a good card cause hunter got a lot of use for a 1/1 beast token and it's dangerous to let hunter keep his beast synergy so he always gets destroyed, also hunter got buffs and cards supporting tokens, like hunters mark,leokk and houndmaster, mage has none.
What you're saying is just one case where having other card in your deck would win you the game and the flaw on this logic is that you can say this to any card you have. Is the same with every good RNG card! Yes you can replace that with a consistent and good card wich will come clutch a lot of times but at the same time you won't have the flexibility that a RNG-based card would. Let's take your exemple with flamestrike and do the same you did but the opposite: You top deck 2 flamestrikes on the first 2 turns and now you have nothing to play until turn 4-5 (which is as most likely to happen as to top deck it turn 7+) in that scenario you would much rather have a 1/1 that draws you something then a dead card in your hand.
+ Just because Webspinner is a 1/1 that has a RNG effect it doesn't mean they are comparable. Any mage spell has a much higher value as it is drawn (Immediate value) than a radom beast (unless it's something crazy good on the situation you're in) because of how the classes were built up until this point. But anyway I think there are no possible ways to compare those cards because they are from different classes which have different ways to play and different synergies.
It's a good card. It won't see play in every deck because not every deck needs to draw a random card in a close situation

I just realize that Yogg probably triggers Lock and Load and for each spell it cast you gain a hunter card :DD just need to get those Emperor Thaurissan discounts going

Playing around 1~2 secrets is pretty easy but over 3 it's really difficult. Also yea paladin has some bad secrets when they're played alone but if you manage to get 3~4 secrets out of Mysterious Challenger they could work really well togheter.

Probably the best card of the set atm. That's 3 minions wich are all pretty good in one card and you still get 5 damage on whatever you want.
