Stop complaining, play a tier 1 deck or play casual, simple as that. The nerfs are not needed, because we all know there is gonna be another meta where another card is too overpowered
As you can see is pally losing quite hard against some decks, the only reason why aggro pally is so strong, is that it counters more than 50% of the meta. Its winrate against Shudderwock, Baku Hunter and Spitefull Priest are just insanily high, not to mention if you don't play a tier 1-3 deck you'll just lose to aggro pally anyway.
Your real problem is that your wincondition is less relevant than any other deck at the moment. The only good thing about Quest Priest is that you don't need to play your reward instantly if you have completed it.
So overal, Mage doesn't have a lot of minions that would be played without spells, except for Elementals, which is the only tribe that doesn't necesarilly need spells to be playable. But since Elemental mage didn't see play at all in previous Expansions, I doubt it will see play in this one.
People need to realise this is the expansion that will be the longest in standard for about 2 years...
If Blizzard decided to print cards that are absolutely broken now, they will need to nerf it again because people will start complaining and if they don't fix it, people need to wait 2 years for the rotation.
If you really want some broken stuff, you should look out for the next expansion or the expansion after that one because the Blizzard will consider printing some OP shizzle again.
It would be a huge mistake if they printed a Patches-like card in this expansion
Okay so there are around 70 cards revealed at the momtn, and it looks like the odd-even cards are just not coming. I feel like those 6 cards at the start of the Expansion were the only 6 that get some odd-even synergy.
Suprisingely: you can play this in Cubelock together with Umbra with some sick combo's.
When you have a Cube on the board (containing 2 doomguards), you can play stuff like Umbra + Voodoo Doll, which will destroy the Cube immediately.
What is good about this? Well, sometimes you alreayd used both of your Dark pacts and you want to still pop the cube instantly, this combo will do it for you.

It is sitting at a 41% winrate atm: https://hsreplay.net/meta/
No need to nerf, just a day 1 miracle

The big problem is a lot of Mage Minions actually needs spells to be playable.
I listed all of them:
Arcane Artificer: What is this doing in your deck?!?
Mana Wyrm: Basically Dire Mole
Ice Walker: hasn't seen competitive play (yet)
Raven Familiar: 2 mana 2/2
Draw a cardShimmering Tempest: Looks like the only 2-drop that seems playable in that deck
Pyros: Together with this one
Sorcerer's Apprentice: Basically, if you play 0 spells this card is just a Bloodfen Raptor
Arcanologist: River Crocolisk
Kirin Tor Mage: Just a 3 mana 4/3
Coldwraith: How are you going to freeze an enemy?
Doomed Apprentice: Didn't know this card existed till I looked at my collection right now...
Ethereal Arcanist: Secrets LUL
Ghastly Conjurer: Seems like a good card to play in a deck with Book of spectes, since it generates a spell
Leyline Manipulator: Childwind Yeti with an smalll upside
Steam Surger: Should be okay if you play some elementals
Water Elemental: Same reason above, and it's a decent minion on its own
Archmage Antonidas: Aha! wait a second...
Sindragosa: didn't see competitve play due to the aggresive meta
Dragoncaller Alanna: Scrap the 'Dragon Caller' part and this is your card

I'm not sure what this post is, because your asking for opinions on decks that are not playable yet...

You're being mean as well...
If you BM'ed him the whole game, then you deserved it
If you didn't, then still don't accept them, because you know they are probably angry/mad
