Yes i think Arcane Keysmith is going to be a nice play in minion based mage too. It's going to give you a free secret although its stats suck. I look forward to playing around with it.
Heed my warning....after all the interactions that evolve from this card it will get nerfed. Reducing its cost to one on so many powerful minions will end up in "interactions that we found too powerful and not fun"(blizzards words) when it is. I envision the Ragnaros combo causing tears.
Not an awful card but very overvalued atm. Compared to Master of Evolution you pay 3 extra mana for a 4/5 body with the effect on a single target. To combo this for value you need a mass token summon and to transform at least 3 minions to get value over a master. Requires a board to be a head for value trade and if played in tandem with minions from hand they must have charge or battlecry to gain value from the upgrade. Master just feels way more consistent as it's a good card by itself even when you have no board or are behind assuming you like the same effect. Perhaps evolve is a great 1 of in a swarm deck and for battlecry combos.
Works well with Jeweled Scarab, Abusive Sergeant and Argent Horserider perhaps comboing a massive 3+ minion chain of battle cries. Unfortunately Shaman tends to have poor card draw and wasting an entire card just to buff board advantage cards into an inconsistent upgrade seams like an optimistic strategy at best. This card will be tested with varying results imo but it's far too inconsistent and requires so much set up from a draw lacking class I can't see it overrunning another aggro deck (much like current Face Shaman) or keeping up with greedy C'Thun decks.
And its not very hard to develop a decent board with shaman's early on. Shaman's failed to regain control after the opponent stabilized the board and this will prolong that imo. Clear the board have a few damage minions and instantly transform them. That's pretty awesome in my book
Would be nice to see the creation that it summons when you play a minion like Ancient of Lore I thought on the stream it said it had a new art for those cards
this thread just shows how spoiled rogue players are by this card. Yes all your other cards are bad, but this insanely OP card was the REASON for that. Just compare to Shadowflame and you'll see this card isn't unreasonable at all now.
having said that, I feel upping to 3 instead would probably have been fine too.
To be fair, we're spoiled by BF because there are so few cards Rogue has that are good enough to spoil us.
Shadowflame comes from a class that has arguably the best hero power in the game as well as other ways to clear the board outside of that card. So it does hurt rogues a lot more than if they nerfed Shadowflame which imo they should to stop it from being used with Sylvanas Windrunner
Somehow 5/5 for seven to draw one card when you have a 5 mana card that does the same thing isn't good value. Class cards are supposed to be stronger than non-class ones. This is what we live with but they could've raised the cost by 1 without affecting its effect
All you kids who think the cost to Flurry was more than 2 are wrong. You would still use other cards for other purposes.
But, hey, nothing spells fun like getting your 8/8 taunts destroyed by a 2 mana spell (oh, and your face taking 8)
You also cant compare Flurry to Flamestrike (doesnt his face, costs SEVEN!!) You snowflakes just want uber decks and 100% win rates. Newsflash, Blizzard is smarter than you.
Removing face was fine I can agree with that part of it. But the cost wasn't out of line with rogue's abilities.

Long animations...Shudderwock to 10 mana...Murmuring Elemental to 3 or 4 mana... Won't totally kill the deck but at least slow down more...

Personally still think that until hunters, and rogues for that matter, get a good board clear control is going to be unlikely.

If pirates or even murlocs truly was an archetype they would be neutral so all classes could use them rather than limiting them to one class

My only question is in the card text "summon another emperor". Wouldn't that suggest it can summon Emperor Thaurissan or even
Emperor Cobra?
