You call it "Miracle Moments", I sadly call it "Luck trumps Skill". Don't get me wrong, it was a great championship to watch, but too many games and matches were decided on completely random events. Name another e-sport where randomness plays such a major role in determining the winner...? (BaiZe and Pavel especially got short changed in the luck department if you ask me.)
I just died from 30 health in an OTK against Priest. The Priest had Shadowreaper Anduin as his hero and already played Raza the Chained in a previous turn.
On the one hand I'm impressed with the combo, but at the same time I'm super salty that these shenanigans are possible! Especially given that I was in complete control of the game up to that turn!
Let's be honest for a moment, if a few hundred or even a thousand people make the decision not to spend real money on Hearthstone for the next expansion or foreseeable future, Blizzard won't even notice.
However, competition is the proven vehicle for driving down prices. What we should all be hoping for is that games like Gwent and The Elder Scrolls: Legends continue to grow and do well. When hundreds of thousands or even a few million players start migrating to these games, Blizzard won't have a choice but to rethink things. And they already have... the "no more duplicate Legendaries" is a direct result of the competition starting to take effect.
i win every control game against druid, when i find an early geist. i don't understand why so many people say it's bad
I have a feeling that many people who say or believe that Skulking Geist is a bad card, never tried it for themselves. In the current meta one copy is a great tech inclusion in any control (non Druid) deck, and it has won me many games. Plus, I've never lost a game specifically because I had the card in my deck...
Last 10 games on ladder, 8 against Druid (good job Blizzard!) The games where I lost were all swung in the Druid's favour through Ultimate Infestation. This is Mysterious Challenger (back in the day) level frustration at the moment. (All these previous Pirate Warriors that now suddenly think they can play control too!)
Blizzard will address to this fast I believe because the competition with other card games now is more than ever and Blizzard dont want to lose more players to other games.
I truly hope you are right about Blizzard's approach to unhealthy cards! And you are not wrong about the competition. At the moment I am basically just finishing my daily quests, and then it's back to The Elder Scrolls: Legends.
The sad part of it is, it's not like the new expansion doesn't have incredibly fun cards to play. Who doesn't love to build a few Zombeasts...? But unfortunately, fun and competitive is mutually exclusive in Hearthstone at this stage.
Can anyone please explain to me why, after creating a card like Jade Idol, which shouldn't ever exist in a card game, we now have to deal with Ultimate Infestation as well?
Someone seriously needs to get fired over at Team 5!
Hearthstone is definitely not pay-to-win... it is however, pay-a-lot to have a complete collection... or pay-at-least-something to have a collection big enough to play more than one or two interesting decks and/or classes.
After I spent some of my gold yesterday to buy 10 packs from each released expansion, it's about 15 packs less than it would have been. (With the pre-order, about 100 packs.)
did you just "buy" all 10 or have few of them in advance ?
I had UnGoro and Classic. I bought Naxx, GvG and TGT. It worked for all these sets for me.
After I hit a legendary in each 10 classic or expansion packs this morning in both my EU and NA accounts, I went to the Blizzard store and bought 7 GvG and 7 TGT packs as well. Sure enough, got 2 TGT and 1 GvG legendaries. Feels like Christmas has come early this year!
I opened 10 classic packs and 10 packs from each available expansion this morning in both my EU and NA accounts. I was sceptical, but I got a legendary in the 10 packs each time. (That's 4 new legendaries in each account... very happy!)
Blizzard, are you serious right now? Because we all know how underpowered Pirate Warrior is, right? With all the weapon upgrades, you are looking at an easy 7/7 for 4 mana with no drawbacks. It's just not right!

OTK:
Hero Power (2 x damage)
Prophet Velen
Hero Power (4 x damage)
Mirage Caller on Prophet Velen
Hero Power (8 x damage)
Circle of Healing
Hero Power (8 x damage)
Silence on Mirage Caller
Hero Power (8 x damage)

Does anyone know what times over the weekend they will stream the playoffs on Twitch (Playhearthstone)?
