posted a message on No more duplicate Legendaries starting with the next expansion!!!
    Quote from AbusingKel >>

It's a good move. HS is too stingy with legs and epics to begin with. Getting duplicate legs is a kick in the jimmies, especially if you get dupes of a garbage one.

I feel these changes from Blizzard is a step in the right direction, but I agree, they should take it even further. I've spent money on every expansion after GvG (trying to get to a complete collection) by buying the pre-orders and adventures, and I am still missing a whole lot of epics and legendaries. Every expansion I just fall further and further behind.
Tes:l for example gives you 6 cards per pack, and for every three wins you get 15 gold and a free card. If Hearthstone was so generous, with my 10000+ ranked wins, I would probably have had a complete set today.

Having played the game since just before the release of GvG, I think this is the best meta we've had in a long time.

Having said that however, I do find myself being annoyed more and more by the discover mechanic. Now don't get me wrong, it's a great mechanic. The problem is that it's being overused, and the cards that can be discovered are too specific and too powerful. I've had multiple matches against Mages for example where I had to pop Ice Block three or for times and lost to burst damage.

For the next expansion I hope they dial down discover a bit, and introduce a new (skill based) mechanic (without any randomness, please!)

I don't think discover is too bad. However, there is a real problem. Ice Block, it's a card that given it's nature, should never be able to be Discovered or Generated Randomly. And this is coming from a Freeze and Control Mage player for about 50% of my entire HS history. It's an incredibly powerful effect when used correctly but handing it out randomly just breaks limits that shouldn't be broken, which really doesn't truly happens with other cards.
Yeah getting hit with turn 5 Firelands Portal is bad, but I am willing to bet the card that can influence and ruin more games is Ice Block when randomly generated or discovered. But it seems Blizzard thinks its okay...
I couldn't agree with you more! Ice Block is fine, but discovering it is not okay...

posted a message on Why The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a better game than Hearthstone
    Quote from danbiz >>

it's about getting used to ESL, the game is a little harder to grasp than HS, sure the mechanics are easy to understand, but to feel and understand the games's vibe, you need to play at least a month, it's a deeper experience, ill give you and example

lets say i have 2 creature in a lane a 2/2 and a 6/1 and your opponent has 8 life (and you have 1 life), in HS it doesnt matter how you attack, in ESL you should attack with the 2/2 first, then attack with the 6/1, .... if you attack with the 6/1 first, you can lose the game (rune mechanic), that is what i call strategic deepness

sometimes my opponent is at 21 life, and i can still attack with a 1/1...but i wont, because sometimes it's not worth popping a rune..

in HS a 4/1 for (2) creature is stupid, in ESL a 4/1 is not bad at all in the shadow lane

some random example why ESL is a good game and should be tried at least

and BTW when you play rank in ESL, you get a season exclusive card (usually epic) for your rank...rank 9= 1 copy, rank 5= 2 copies, rank 2= 3 copies... if you missed it, it's craftable

of course i still play hearthstone, but i feel like playing agaisnt the same deck all the time , as a theorycrafter, i prefer ESL

The rune mechanic has  both won and lost me games. I think it's great that you have a chance to interact on your oponent's turn at times. But what I find really fascinating, and you touch on this, is that creatures (minions in HS for those who are unfamiliar) and other mechanics that simply don't work in HS, work in Legends because of an overall lower power level, less end less powerfull AOE, and the use of the diffent lanes.

The combination of the words ''slow'' and ''meta'' creates a severe alergic reaction to team 5 so i am pretty sure the meta will be as fast or in best case scenario a turn slower than it is now.I believe that will be just shift from face aggro to fload aggro and that's it.The only jade deck i suspect to dominate is jade midface shaman :P.
As much as I hate to admit it (call me the eternal optimist), in my heart I know you are right. *sigh* Just for the briefest of moments before a new expansion releases, I dream that a slow and strategic meta could exists... but as you say, all too soon we will awake to a new nightmare that is aggro. Why team 5, just, why?

After the new expansion, I expect to see especially the following decks:

    1. Disco Zoolock with Nether Portal (T1)
    2. Ramp Druid with Barnabus (T1) or OTK Maly Druid with Barnabus (T2)
    2. Aggro / Beast Hunter with Queen Carnassa (T1)
    2. Murloc Shaman with Megafin (T2) or Elemental Shaman (T1)
    3. OTK Time Warp Mage (T2)
    3. Control Warrior with Sulfuras (T2)
    3. Buff Paladin with Galvadon (T2)
    4. Aggro Rogue with Crystal Core (T2)
    5. N'Zoth Deathrattle Priest (T3) [Poor Priests...]

    Honourable mention: Secret Mage (T3/4)

But Jades will most definitely come to spoil the party at some point. The slower the meta, the more broken Jades become...

posted a message on These cards should be nerfed
    Quote from stanchcorder6 >>

These cards are too strong now. In my opinion, they should be nerfed as the picture shows.

    1. Jade Idol

I don't think Patches is too much of a problem after the Small-Time Buccaneer nerf. It's the weapon upgrades that make Pirate Warrior so potent.
I do have different suggestion for the Jade Idol card though. I would like to see the second option read "Shuffle 3 copies of Jade Summoner into your deck". Where Jade Summoner is a spell that summons a Jade Idol, cost (2).
I see my Jade Idol nerf has already been suggested... so I'll just second it.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Hemet, Jungle Hunter
    Quote from Nangi >>

I've never seen the polls so split between meta-defining and dusting it.  I think it's really interesting and might merit a deck like a variation of Ramp Druid so you can make way for your bigger cards.  A crazy idea would be to run a very aggressive deck with only one big card so when your opponent is low you can play Hemet so you're guaranteed to draw damage on the next turn instead of just simply hoping for it.

I think this card will also work well in Astral Communion Druid. Once you play Astral Communion you hope to draw into Hemet, Jungle Hunter so that you can eliminate any non-big threats remaining in your deck, like Innervate for example.

posted a message on Why The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a better game than Hearthstone

Elder Scrolls: Legends released on iOS last Thursday.

I decided to give it a try. I couldn't take all the HS non-stop aggro any more... and hey, we have time before Un'Goro gets released.

What can I say, the OP summed up the difference between HS and Legends nicely. If you like HS, but want games to be more strategic instead of mindless face pummelling... then Legends isn't a bad option. Bethesda is also quite generous with their rewards, something I hope Blizzard will take note of at some point. (Six cards per pack for example.)

Playing both HS and Legends at the moment. Having lots of fun with Legends.

     Same here...
Not sure I understand this logic...I haven't "invested" any time beyond the amount I normally play the game (a few hours a week) and I'm at 5500 gold already.  The only "investing"  needed is in willpower not to spend gold as soon as you acquire it.
Your argument is perfectly valid, and I would have loved it if I could buy enough packs every new expansion from gold I collected through normal play every day. Everyone simply doesn't have the same amount of time available.
The second part to consider is this: do you only want the relevant cards, or a complete collection? For someone like me who enjoys the card collection as much as the moment-to-moment gameplay, and who won't mind a complete collection at some point, grinding gold is just never going to be enough to get me there.

posted a message on this expansion is looking good

It's still early, but I have to agree with OP that it looks promising so far.

Clearly they are trying to slow things down which is good, but... this could open the door for Jade Golems to take over, and that makes me nervous.

Still, for now, I remain quietly optimistic.
