Despite how awful the public reception of Gadgetzan was I LOVED playing the expansion. Every good deck had a unique angle, a clear motive and obvious strengths and weaknesses. Singleton decks were beyond fascinating; Reno and Kazakus made them incredibly robust and able to play out just about any curve decently well and every game they were in was different. The only win-con deck was Jades, which required a deck chock-full of Jade cards and showed them as early as turn 1.
My only gripe throughout the whole expansion was that Pirate Warrior was too luck-based; it could either draw the stone cold nuts or Patches and no curve. Other than that, Gadgetzan was one of my favorite expansions of all time. If Scholomance even lives up to THAT for me (not even WotOG) then I'll be happy, especially if any decks can be crafted on a budget.

War golem was never considered the worst card in the game by anyone other than you right now. There are much worse cards in the classic/basic set and even worse in other sets.
Also I do play Malorne in my Reno druid deck and he is definitely a "bad good card" not even close to being trash. It's a win condition when my opponent burns my Jade Idols.

The more you'll play Zephrys the more you'll learn what it can and can't offer you and that's when it starts to get good.
Now you know you can't get Flare against a stealthed frog on turn 4, next time this happens you won't missplay.
I get what you're saying but I imagine it would take huge amount of work from the devs to make Zephrys fully capable of figuring out every board state and do what the player wants to do. Maybe Zephrys could have offered you a flare if there wasn't a spell damage totem, he gave you 2 answers for the spell damage, maybe this was his first priority.

God no I'm not that crazy lol. I mean this one drop could have been anything, it's a little sad that it's just a worse version of an existing class card.

I'm desperate for a unnerfed fiery war axe replacement, this is quite nice. Strictly better than Heroic Strike.

If it was permanent it would be a nice and fun card, this effect for just one turn seems rather.. Situational.
