Alright so I've been thinking about this for some time now and i think I got most of it worked out.
Legacy mode would be a third format added to hearthstone. Each season certain sets (adventures and expansions) would be legal in this format. For example Goblin vs Gnomes and Un goro. In general the basic set would be always available to allow classes to have some base to build off of. There would be no limit to how many sets would be available in a season (for example it could be every set except TGT) but in general at least 1 expansion would be used to offer a large enough card pool. Otherwise this functions like the other formats with a casual and ladder mode.
I mainly thought this up as a way to play with decks that don't work or would be really bad since there was better cards out there. It also might allow for people to go back in time to old metas and play decks from a time you couldn't play now or simply to play in unique metas that couldn't happen otherwise. So I ask would you play this mode if it was added to hearthstone? I'm curious what others think.
Ice Block since it pretty much is 3 mana "take another turn"
Frothing Beserker because either it dies or you die and is just not fun to play against
Gadgetzan Auctioneer becuase the decks that use this can pull out wins that wouldn't happen in any other case (jade druid and rogue are my main issues)
@chemfatigue I thought about this but I see this card as a possible comeback back when your opponent is well beyond just burning out with spells and your hero power. Such as control or maybe aggro that has stopped you from ever building a decent board and in which denying a lot of damage to their face.
@TwInfernal You're correct about deathstalker being no where near as good as jaraxxus but think of this as a way to transition into a more grindy game vs control where they more than likely have healed to where 1 card that might be a 1 or 2 drop simply isn't enough to really finish them off. There is also when something like token shaman which might of built a wide but low health board where you can possibly swing the game in your favor through the 2 damage aoe and armor gain. From these positions you might not get the good cards from your deck (Things like highmane for example) so the Zombeast hero power instead builds you a big minion to play and kill the opponent.
Pretty much I see this as a card that you use as a last ditch effort to pull a win midrange hunter wouldn't win otherwise. Whether you kill the aggro deck's board and gain a little life or simply put moderate (although overpriced) threats long after your hand emptied.
Just throwing my thoughts up here but I think the hunter hero card might actually work as a value card in midrange hunter. Of course you have to draw it and play it to start gaining power but depending how the meta forms midrange hunter might run this so they can curve into a value late game that hunter hasn't really had before. (Except for CoW pre nerf)
Just imagine getting ahead on board like hunters do but your out of cards so you play this as the battlecry helps you clear the board so you can start hero powering to outvalue other decks or just continue some pressure after your hand is gone. Plus the 5 armor helps to heal vs aggro that might be bashing your face in. Of course other cards might make this irrelevant but I think midrange might actually run Deathstalker Rexxar as a jarraxus like card to continue some sort of pressure from the board.
Not something I would put into any deck as it simply is to random. Small deathrattles or bad deathrattles (think Zombie Chow and Haunted Creeper) makes this to inconsistent to work. Until someone does the math on how likely it is to get a good deathrattle I'm voting Dust it.
Still a little early but feels like it doesn't do enough to beat off any aggressive decks as it requires you to have NO early game outside of a few 1 drops and 3 drops. To slow to see play I assume.
You know looking back I wish we could've used a few more example cards as I feel like one of mechanics got the back shelf since I needed to show some features of the other. I think 6 would've been a better number to work with. Any thoughts on this?
Strange crystals have been appearing all over Outland and rumor told of the unimaginable power every single one contains. However the Legion has been seen collecting them also and conflict is imminent. What will become of Outland with this battle for power?
This expansion have a focus on the new mechanics and demons. With many demons finding a home in the neutral card pool and non warlock classes. Mage, Warlock, Hunter, Rogue, and Warrior find themselves wrapped in the fel crystal and demon tribes. Paladin, Priest, Shaman, and Driud on the other hand have come to destroy the crystal and those that are abusing them. Of course many classes will get ways to interact with demons and the new fel crystals.

Looking back this is a auto dust cards 100% All I have to say is:
Frostbolt, Dire Wolf Alpha, Knife Juggler, Maelstrom Portal, Flametongue Totem, Arcaneologist, Wrath, Wild Growth, Doomsayer, Fiery War Axe, Crackling Razormaw, and Eviscerate
I could go on but hopefully you get the picure. Two drops are to strong for a mist caller like effect.
1
Really bad slow card that might be good in arena but there is gonna be MUCH better options for deathrattles in constructed.

Probably will see play as it is akin to maelstrom portal although if its better or worse is to be seen.

Sadly a bad card. UNLESS we see a cheap buff card that gives alot of health to a minion then it might work.
1
Control Hunter feel but a little to early to tell if it would work although this seems like a good direction for hunter to explore.

OK remade my legendary with slight rewording to make it consistent with the rules. Although it is a little wordy now. Thoughts?

Two new mechanics are introduced:
Fel Magic cards:
Tokens:
Also: Felguard, Infernal, and Imp
Many are finding great power from the crystals but the cost for power is always great:
Twisting Nether
(Side note Void Mage doesn't die from its battlecry it summons after the nether happens)
Upvote if you've like what you see as then I'll get to do a little more with the new mechanics! Thanks for reading!
(EDIT: Minor Word change on Void Mage to align with the other cards wording and mana change for abyssal along with added demon tag)
