The dagger basically remains active during your opponent's turn, meaning your hero still has the 1 damage. That means, if your opponent attacks your hero when you have this dagger equipped, the attacker will receive damage equal to the weapon's attack damage. The weapon won't lose durability from this, though.

I think it's a perfectly balanced card. The card draw and spell damage are worth approximately 1.5 - 2 mana, so it's like a 3 mana 4/4 along with it which is basically what a lot of cards have if you look at their special effects.
Hands down my most favourite removal card in the game. A real pain to play around, but also really fun to drop on a huge board of stuff. (except for when I had it in an arena run and it fucked me over 3 times at a 1/3 chance 2x and a 1/4 chance 1x)
I think Aya will work just fine on her own. Even alone she's a 6 mana 8/6 which isn't all that bad. She's also fairly sticky due to the deathrattle, and if you can pull off an Unearthed Raptor on her you get an additional 4/4 golem in the end which is really good. I'd say Aya is pretty solid as her deathrattle also leaves a 3/3 after nzoth gets wiped (if he does), so yeah, works pretty well I think.

She's apparently too weak to take on her own whelps in a duel, though. Brawl
