Both Patches the Pirate and Jade Idol are very nicely designed cards. Once again as I mentioned before having cards or hell even decks you don't like is fine and its a subjecitve opinion... but, obectively - both of the cards you just listed are very nicely designed cards. So... can't really say too much other than, don't play on the ranked ladder if you don't like it?
The Jade Golem mechanic is fine. Or do you have an actual counterargument against it because once again, if you just don't like the card then don't play on the ladder or play wild or something along those lines since the ranked ladder is where you'll encounter decks utalizing the mechanics of the game.

I disagree wholeheartedly with Patches the Pirate and Jade Idolbeing very nicely designed. That said, I can handle Patches the Pirate. Whilst I find the idea of a card that doesn't have to be drawn and has instant early game impact, as well as being a Pirate extremely annoying, he is manageable. Jade Idol however is a different kettle of fish. It takes the meta to a place where not only are you punished against aggro if you don't draw the right cards to deal with threats early game, but you also have to be able to finish off Druids before they spawn endless Jade Golem in late game. Fatigue has always been a risk for Miracle decks that gives you a chance to win if you can survive long enough, but there is no surviving against Jade Idol, it is just neverending. All in a convenient 1 mana "choose one" spell that couldn't work better with Druid. It's just too much for one card.
I'm sorry if I come across as just another whiny casual who cant adapt to new metas, but no other card in the history of hearthstone has had the effect on the way decks are designed than Jade Idol has. And with ultra aggressive decks being it's main counter, a kind of deck which I find neither challenging or fun to play/play against, this meta has boiled down to a game of Reno praying, turn 5 kills and unstoppable jade armies
My 2 cents on these hot topic cards:
Patches turned out to be too good, he enables better trades from turn 1+, smaller drawlist, more reliable pirate synergy. think this card would be way less frustrating but still very powerful if you removed "charge"
Jade Idol Frustrating card for many control decks to run into. I don't think control decks really needed such a hard counter when they have reasonable enough odds of losing to aggro regardless of deck composition. I was honestly interested to see another infinite value card in HS after Moroes, but they went WAY overboard imo

Dragon priest is a snore deck... I play freeze mage to crush them.

If you don't have a collection... Well they outvalue & clear most  boards...

Try making a good hunter deck with freezing traps if you're being bullied too much by dragon priest. Gameplan: lots of face damage from minions early before dropping a lethal double kill command.

Edit: Mistress of Mixtures coin Flame Imp turn 1 is a reasonable turn 1 against aggro decks

    Quote from Spartanburg >>

I have all of the commons and rares, and all of the meta epics and legendaries.
The big one I'm missing is Chillmaw. I'm on the fence about crafting it, especially with MSG introducing lots of really powerful legendaries. Should I shell out the dust to craft Chillmaw, or is it better to invest in new expansions and just ignore the card?

Chillmaw is just okay. I'd rather get that new legendary that draws until you don't pull a dragon. Lots of minions have more than 3 health by turn 7 right now, just ask yourself if you would waste 1600 dust crafting a flamestrike.

I don't agree with this. Just because mistakes are very punishing with Freeze Mage (Or Miracle) it's not skill intensive at all. Maybe it's hard the first few games but nothing more.
    Patron was skill intensive.

Yes, I hear playing enough board wipes and removals to wait to draw your wombo combo OTK BS is quite the challenge. I also hear zoo is actually a control deck.
Just stop. About the only decks that take an I.Q. of double digits to pilot would likely be miracle or mill. Patron was just freeze mage with the replacement of a 3 mana minion with over 35 attack for Alex.
I have to say mill seems like the only deck that's actually difficult at all to pilot.
Miracle takes conserving resources while surviving, but is not especially difficult with a good mulligan.
Freeze mage just needs to draw into Doomsayer & freeze. They have to be creative to win in situations where that doesn't happen... but aggro beats us all sometimes.
Patron seemed fun. I never got BRM before the nerf :,(
But how the hell do you mill?? I really have intense problems drawing my opponent into fatigue while not providing them the resources to kill me. I've probably got two wins out of many attempts as mill druid & dozens of losses as mill rogue.

Can someone explain to me why moroes isn't played in zoolock?

Moroes is more of a value card. If he survives he can provide INFINITE value... provided that you don't lose from playing a 3 mana (provide minor benefit next turn, susceptible to all board clears).
I actually think Moroes could be fun in a hand buff value paladin, but it won't be a competitive deck still.

posted a message on With Jade Golem Decks, Will C'thun cards disappear?
    Quote from Rhadan >>

C'thun will still be in the standard rotation for a while. As long as you find a C'thun deck that works, it will still see some play.

Also C'thun (since it's a free legendary) will still be used by people who play F2P accounts. They won't have as many Gadgetzan cards.

     This^^
C'thun is a great card for starting off, you'll be hard pressed to make a deck based on a F2P collection without C'thun just because he provides such a big impact in one card. I think the days of playing more than one C'thun are gone, but it's still a decent board clear with a big body attached.

I subbed out Amani Berseker for Faerie Dragon. That card can be very frustrating to deal with when it's buffed up & played alongside a 3/2 loothoarder

It cannot continually be "RNG" if everytime I swap to a deck to counter, I get countered. No matter what.

For a person that hates random, I am sure punishing myself playing this game. This keeps up, I'm likely out, no fun to have luck of the draw determine your fun.

If you see a decktype a lot & try to counter it... you have to keep playing until you run into it again. It's a high expectation to always que into the best matchup because of deck choice

Buffs are kinda wasted on them. :(

I actually don't think they are. If your opponent trades into a buffed doomsayer he still has to take damage. Plus the extra health actually makes them a little more sticky.
I'm going to try it out at least

The issue I get with them is that if you don't get your draw and you don't get the buff cards (speaking of Paly specifically) then it's just a bad zoo deck. So games for me at least aren't particularly fun. Either it goes great or it completely tanks, very dependent on the draw. Not that it's a bad win ratio per se, just not fun to be at the source of RNG, maybe there's a way to tweak it with more draw.

This deck has absolutely no card draw issues & can curve hard into victories
Just made it the other day & I've been doing pretty well

A buffed up Amani Berseker is no joke. I get turn 7 kills with this deck

There is a big difference between having an impact vs being insane.  Fireball is 1 of the strongest Mage cards in the game game and a near auto include in almost every Mage deck.  Alex is an 8/8 + 2 Free Fireballs + 1 Free Forgotten Torch (assuming opponent is at 30 health.).
Alex is basically an 8/8 + a 4 mana + 4 mana + 3 mana.  Yes, the damage is lower if opponent is under 30 health, but the Freeze Mage is already cool with that since 15 health is easily within striking range for a next turn kill.  The crazy thing is that not only is Alex an 8/8 + 4 Mana + 4 Mana + 3 Mana but also has the options to turn those Fireballs + Torch into healing if in a desperate situation.  Imagine how broken Fireball would be if tomorrow the Devs decided to make Fireball deal 6 Damage OR Heal 6 Damage, the chat would go crazy thinking the devs had lost their mind (even if the upgraded fireballs could only heal if under 15 health)
If they made fireball do 6 healing instead of 6 damage noone would ever choose the healing option.
Just like how ancient of lore other choice was almost never used when he was 6 Mana 5/5 that heals 10. That is astronomically better than a healing fireball...
Alextrsaza hitting your own face usually means you just lost. If they did enough damage to make you heal, then spending the entire turn healing SOME is basically just setting up their lethal. You rarely come back.
Alexstraza rewards your efforts at board control & punishes overly aggressive builds that can't restore health. You're basically asking for a classic control tool to be nerfed just because it doesn't let you win.
