Arcengal posted a message on Advice on how to get from 5 to LegendPosted in: Standard FormatDon't try to beat the meta. You'll go mad trying to do so, since you'll inevitably queue into whatever decks you're not metagaming against. Don't ever tech for the same reason, unless whatever your list was using was already teched, e.g. your Hunter list had two Golakka Crawlers.
If your sole interest is to get Legend, then figure out what the best aggro deck is in the format, get as good as you can be with it, then just grind. Grind a LOT. You're in a good spot being rank 5+ relatively early in the month, so you can build from there. The main reason you want to play an Aggro deck is because of the concept of Free Wins. If you're playing against an aggro deck, you can keep up because you have early drops too. If you're playing against a control deck, they can draw a hand of trash and you can sometimes just kill them on turn 5 before they do anything meaningful. If you're playing with a control or combo deck, all your games will develop into full games because you will take some time to get going, so you won't ever get the "opponent has nothing" games.
The secondary reason to play an Aggro deck is because games are quick. The quicker your games, the more games you can play, the more efficient your grinding is.
[Edit: Also, make sure you're playing to win. Figuring out good trades is relatively easy, but make sure that you can actually still win if you make the obvious play. Sometimes going face is right even when it looks dumb.]
If you lose 3 games in a row, take a break. Not "Play another deck", not "Play arena", not "watch Youtube". Put whatever you're playing on down and go do something else unrelated to gaming. Also stop whenever you climb a full rank. The reason for this is you'll get tired (or tilted, in the case of losing games) and make mistakes, and there's no reason to let that happen when you have enough time in the month to stay refreshed. If you don't do this, you might just lose more time by having to play games to recover stars.
If you have anything in your life that you feel you need to do on any conscious or unconscious level, as small as sending an email or as large as losing weight, then do it instead of grinding. Otherwise you'll get distracted, or you might also get Legend and then go "Oh yeah, but I didn't manage to do x/y/z, so it's meaningless". Nullifying the achievement you're going for is really bad for your mental health, so prioritise other stuff first.
Lastly, don't forget to screenshot like crazy when you make it. Because you'll want to hold onto that shot for a very, VERY long time. -

Nordos posted a message on 2018 HOF predictionsPosted in: General DiscussionNozdurmo could actually be a contender. Due to the limiting time, there can be some issues with chaining animations. I wouldn't be surprised, if this one gets HoF'ed.
I don't think that Doomguard will rotate, though. It simply doesn't have such a huge impact. To begin with, the very concept of cheating out demons was pushed once a while (Krul and now the Skull), so it rather appears that it was the that their concept simply worked. Neither do I realy thing Cubelock to be oppressiv. A lot of ppl have already said that you can tech against them. It isn't 'uninteractive' per se.

Vision136 posted a message on Who can stop Warlock, the Tier 1 God??Posted in: General DiscussionControl warlock, or cubelock as people are calling it, is an incredibly fair and interactive deck. Run Spellbreaker and Acidic Swamp Ooze if you have a problem with it. Possessed Lackey and Voidlord can't hurt you if they're silenced, and the skull is just 5 mana do nothing if you ooze it. Honestly don't get why people are complaining so much.

A bit too early to call this the meta. Seatstory is in a few days; that tournament is known for massively shaping the metagame. I don't think anyone should expect the game to be instantly figured out within a few days of an expansion release. Of course aggro has a strong showing; aggro decks have always had strong representations at the birth of a new meta simply due to the inconsistency of most decks. In about a month or so, I think more controlling decks will make their mark, especially a burn mage build that takes a slower approach.

I agree, from what we've seen so far priest will be early KotFT Jade Druid level if not even more busted. The only decks that will have a chance are those that dont rely on minions at all to win and can also survive priest burst ( pretty much only quest mage in standard ) . I will be very surprised if priest doesnt get nerfed a few weeks into the expack ( maybe months cause its blizzard after all xD )

Just confirmed against the innkeeper... Malchezaar's Imp DOES draw when you discard cards with Deathwing. That being said the wording on this card is a bit different, it says ,,destroy all minions. discard your hand. ,, with the dot it implies that the first written effect happens and then the second one so I had to check that also.
I used a Lightwarden because it has the same trigger as the imp ( Whenever ) and then used Siphon Soul on it ( it also has the dot after the Destroy a minion ) and lo and behold the Lightwarden got an attack bonus cause of the 3 heal ( even though it is stated after the destroy a minion part ) and then died.
I think this confirms that Cataclysm WILL work with Malchezaar's Imp unless blizzard changes the rules for this card only xD.

What a cool idea!
Will try out this list for sure if I open the KIng in a pack, already have all the other cards :)

So funny reading through these comments now that the expack is out for a week and jade druid is stronger then ever before xD.
I am not really a jade druid player myself played it a bit at the start of msog and now that its op but I always found hate for it to be unfounded since its really not fun to play against the ,,I will just remove everything you play and you cant do anything the entire game,, decks
Full face decks deserve a lot more hate in my opinion.

Guys...I dont care how good this actually is..but I am making a wild paladin deck with this and brann. 10 adapts seems to insane not to try out xD

O know every priest player ( including me ) would love for this to be real...but it seems WAY too op xD
I mean 5 mana 8/8 taunt is really good by itself...but to include a Reno effect that also raises you health beyond the maximum 30 ( without needing a deck of one offs) is completely out of this world. Sadly I would give this around 0% chance of being legit xD

I aggre with OP. Sacrificial Pact text should be Destroy a demon minion..etc
Otherwise one can ask why Hungry Crab doesnt kill Morgl xD

Very interesting, its like in that tavern brawl where every minion had same effects but was 1mana 1/1. I quess tavern brawl really is a testing ground for Blizzard xD.
