All you fools saying this isn't broken because it's a turn 10 card, smh. I've had this bastard played on me on the games "Turn 5." He had burned several cards ramping and was at 7 mana, then coined and innervated and killed my thing from below, gained 5 armor, put a stout minion on the board and replenished his hand.
Using an incredibly unlikely scenario is not an argument. On top of that, you play "Thing from below" and complain about something else being broken. Nothing like a potentially 0 cost 5/5 taunt.
Yeah it's a pretty cheap deck dust wise. I could craft Gul'Dan but I already have 2 decks to tinker with, I don't need something else eating up my ladder time. Mage is my favorite class and i love the deathknight but she doesn't have the support to be dominant. Might make tier 2 but likely just top tier 3 because of the late game survival power.
Elemental mage is deff my favorite for standard. You can control during early game, draw out your cards and eventually make sick comebacks in the late game with frost lich jaina and other tools.
What kind of list do you run? I keep playing with mine but I can't seem to win more then 2-3 games in a row without subsequently losing 2-3 in a row. It does really well against priest and control paladin but warlock shits all over it as does N'Zoth Warrior. Been thinking about Running an aggro druid deck or something just to get out of the lower ranks so teching actually means something
I seriously called this. People knocked this card so much when it was released and I knew it was going to be brutal as all hell. I seriously cannot beat demonlock right now with my mage. Too much removal, too many big minions. I even try to save my board control and still can't do anything. No point in trying Frost Nova into doomsayer, they'll just blast crystal potion or siphon soul. Can't maintain any board presence because of Dread Infernal and Abyssal Enforcer.
To clarify this isn't a salt post. This is an "I told you so" post. I actually really like the class, I just didn't pull Gul'Dan.
No matter what class I play or what my mana spread is of my deck 4 times out of 5 I just get a garbage mulligan. If I've managed a win streak I've noticed my mulligans get even worse, often throwing away 4 and 5 drops only to get 7 and 8 drops. Conversely every priest I face gets Power Word: Shield and Northshire Cleric in their opening hand without fail. So, anyone else else here get trash tier mulligans or is it just me?
As it stands right now hunters are a curve class. They can't really branch out to more despite the plethora of interesting tools they have access to but can't/won't utilize.
The inability for Hunter to Branch out is due to it's many problems. Hunter's problems are:
1) Blizzard Team 5 doesn't want Face Hunter to be very good because it is the best class for new players and an annoyance to older players.
2) Team 5 doesn't think efficient or reliable heal, AOE, taunts, nor card draw are in Hunter's indentity.
3) Many of the aspects that Blizzard Team 5 believe are part of hunter's indentity (secrets, deathrattles, X Shot) are reactive or delayed in action. Such effects are bad in Hearthstone if their effects aren't very powerful or cheating out in card draw/tutor.
4) A large amount of the hardcore fanbase still irrationally hate Hunter because of the far off past. The height of Face hunter was 2014.
I hate hunter because they all play exactly the same why. Me hunter Me go face. That really seems to be the class identity or rather the class invites that little decision making. Even when I'm winning the class is just frustrating because I can put stuff on the board and they'll just try to face race me anyway even if they could clear whatever threat I put down. They also just seem to have obnoxiously good mulligan and card draw luck despite never running any sort of card draw and as someone who includes at least some card draw in his decks because i'm always left with stuff that I need being buried is that's annoying that a whole class never seems to have that issue. It's confirmation bias I'm sure but it's still damn annoying.
Hating hunter because of confirmation bias is irrational though. That's the problem. By complaining about hunter being too fast, you are insuring that this is all it can do. Hunter only smorcs because Blizzard is afraid to give hunter good cards to pay after turn 5.
Hunter won't get better if people keep lobbing false complaints at it. If people stop rejoicing the death of hunter, maybe.. just maybe.. Blizzard will feel the pressure to fix it by giving it good cards to the other themes, heal, AOE, or card draw,
My complaining has no impact on the class itself, that logic doesn't even remotely make any sense. Hunters have plenty of late game options but they don't run them. They also have a decent amount of AoE as well. The thing I will side with Hunters on is their legendaries have mostly sub par.
Aggro decks has been a type of deck in basically all card games, I don't know how a card game will be like if there is no aggro. I could also say I hate paladin because they all play for control. Me paladin Me go control. You say they have good mulligan but if you look hunter mostly runs low mana minions which means they will probably have good early game control.
I wasn't complaining about aggro decks, I was complaining about hunter mentality. Paladins don't just play control by the way, murloc paladin is stupidly good. That said I can have a 2/3, a 4/5, and a 6/6 on a board and the hunter could have enough to clear it and instead they'll just go face. It's that kind of mindset that seems to be exclusive to the large majority of hunter players. Even pirate warriors and murloc paladins and token druids trade when the need arises.
Sindragosa is a pretty good play after Jaina, you get to ping for a free legendary and water elemental and you have an 8/8 on the board and another 0/1 to ping if your opponent doesn't kill it. Personally I run 2x Blazecaller instead of firelands portal because the RNG ALWAYS screws me, like getting bomb squad. There's too much trash at the 5 slot right now. I'd rather get a guaranteed 6/6 and it's not hard to trigger that. I've swapped out Shimmering Tempest for Ironbeak Owl because of all of the late game taunts and deathrattles. But other than that this is a similar deck to what I've come up with.
I swear I'm just going to play jade druid if you twits keep complaining about it. This is like the 123123132 topic on that specific deck and it's getting really annoying.
The only issue I'm having right now is everyone complaining about jade druid. It's like people haven't been paying attention since Gadgetzan. It starts strong because people get super greedy at first (Especially now with all of the slow DK decks). It's gonna lose power and fall off but instead of just playing their game people just want the deck nerfed because their way is somehow superior and more worthy of play.
And be for someone says "omg noob jade druid player doesn't want his deck nerfed" I'm playing Elemental Mage and Hadronox Druid which both would get roflstomped by any jade druid deck.
Jade druid is now a lot stronger due to taunts received now. If before jade druid was not a big issue because every aggro deck was able to rape him now is not true due to new taunts and 1 mana armor spell (received in un'goro).
If only there was a card the destroyed 1 cost spells...OH WAIT! There is!!! I play Taunt Druid (along with elemental mage) and Aggro classes have no issue getting through those at all, so really it seems to me people just don't want to tech against a deck that they apparently face and lose to enough to cause so much salt and they'd rather the deck just not exist.
The issue is that you shouldn't have to tech in cards just to have a chance of winning. Same problem with Quest Mage even though it isn't as good. Teching should be about improving specific matches, NOT providing your ONLY out.
It's not your only out, but if you're running a super greedy deck then you should expect another deck to punish that.

Fandral is great in most druid decks. Malfurion is probably the best Deathknight purely because you don't have to build around him and he's flexible. I run a Hadronox Druid deck and it's quite fun. If you like the class I'd craft all 3 of those cards.
I would suggest running it in a warlock deck with Deathwing. It's pretty easy to discard 6 cards with him, and if you run clutchmother Zavas and 2x silverware golem you get to keep all of those. I've been meaning to make such a deck but i've been busy with other things lol

My taunt druid NEVER EVER gets that kind of opening play. How ridiculous was that luck

I feel like the deck would be better with Sindragosa and Barron Geddon
