I just wanted to pop in and say that we do not allow for any political/religious discussions here (not even in Off Topic).
I can ask why? Of course the site theme and focus is HearthStone and almost everything is about it, but if we can discuss anything in General Chat why Politics and Religions are forbiden?
I cant believe someone has to tell you this. Because those two topics are incredibly polarising and people take those things to heart. Only bad things can happen when discussing it and it usually ends in a flame war.

Pretty much this, yes. Im sure you know how passionate can ppl be about their beliefs. These discussions/arguments never end well. Flame war 100% every time. And if we try to police and moderate such a discussion, either way somone will get offended or hurt and will accuse us of taking sides etc.
This is a gaming forum and we want to have fun and good time here, there r plenty of other sites on internet, where you can discuss these matters. Im sure you can understand that.

I was a moderator in a brazilian forum called Ateus.net and we have tons of discussions in this two don't end in flame war and, just for comparison, we have for many years topics to discuss games and other things, of course, all topics should respect the forum rules, only one time in years we moderators was forced to close a topic about Cuba, but any topic about anything will be close if the rules don't be follow like that one.
I don't want to discuss this kind of stuff here, just curious about the reason of the forbiden.
Politics really don't belong on a gaming forum, neither does religion. Everyone has their own views and we ask that they keep them to theirselves. Some communities may be able to deal with it either through respectful community members or a ton of moderation. We'd rather not spend time moderating it and we've got enough problems as is with people being "fun" in other ways so the two topics get a blanket ban.
Have you ever seen the flame wars over US vs EU timings for release of Hearthstone content? Imagine that but worse for topics involving actual politics.

On top of that. Why even bother discussing these topics in a game forum?
