Hey 4katosh. Thanks for the recommendations. I can try those out. However, I have a couple of concerns.
1. Since my deck relies heavily on divine shield, would "wild pyro" and equality make my shields useless? That's assuming I use those cards when I also have minions on the table.

No normally if you have cards out you won't need to use the comboas bad. But you need to consider the fact you will not always have the board your way & if they get too ahead playing minions won't get you ahead you need to clear the board with spells. It is a must have or else the deck is basically trash. Paladin is barely viable due to bad removal & not having equality will just be even harder to win games if the opponent plays lots of minions. You lose extremely hard to control since you have no equality combos. Consider adding aldoors peacekeeper as it is too good. 2 of them. I wouldn't recommend using gruul as there is better legendaries but if it's just to add in cause you have it I can understand. I would prefer Ysera because gruul just gets bgh'ed. Overall the rest is pretty powerful but add equality & aldoors then its gonna be even stronger. Goodluck!

That combo changes every minion's health to 1 and then deals 1 damage to all minions. Any minion with divine shield would survive, but only have 1 health. This is a 'last resort' kind of combo to clear the board when your opponent has board control. The fact that many of your minions have divine shield actually means that this combo could work out quite well for you, leaving you with some minions behind.
Also your 6 mana spot is so full or opposite things. Argent commander and Sunwalker kinda come late and serve 2 different purposes. Defence or attak. I'd swap sun walker for something less slow. Also, as already said, you don't run equality, and you don't have any direct removal besides the sword cause you play Avenging in 1x and no HoWrath. Seems to me that you have to decide if u wanna be rushy, midgame or control, you can't be all or your deck will have no sufficent synergies between cards to compete.
Yeah I agree with this you either take 2 sunwalkers or 2 argent's not both. You wan't a nice mana curve & paladins become scary once it hits turn 4 because they get truesilver & easily 2 for 1.
Also, I would replace Gruul - he is just an overall bad card. Divine Shield decks really benefit from Sword of Justice so consider throwing one in. Also, since you're running Redemption, consider throwing in a Cairne Bloodhoof if you have one or replacing the 2x Hand of Protection with Harvest Golems. Leeroy Jenkins would also be a great addition as a finisher, perhaps with Blessing of Might - he is a much faster card than Ragnaros the Firelord and since this deck leans towards aggro, I'd go with that. Lastly, I think any Divine Shield deck, specially one with Argent Protector should always run at least one Blood Knight - a turn 3 9/9 is hard to argue.
Hey. Thanks so much for helping me put that together. I think the logic is sound and I'll give a try. I do have a couple general questions about the deck and wanted your thoughts.
I quite like how paladins play but I've heard over and over again that a divine shield deck like mine is more of a gimmick and not really suitable for ladder play. Do you have any thoughts on this?
What decks, regardless of class, would you recommend I try building if I want to rank up in ladder? What decks do you personally feel is most fun?

For the ladder you want to play Control Paladin / Giants.. paladin/priest is in a bad state though atm with one of the lowest win ratios.. I would honestly stick to other classes instead because it can be pretty rough to climb with Paladin even if you have 10k+ dust deck. Paladin is ok but it just lacks good removal like hex, polymorph siphon soul etc.. You really rely on your equality consecreate / pyromancer to clear the board & it isn't as reliable because you won't always have the oppurtunity to use it. You can still climb but on the ladder atm its aggro divine favor paladin which is super strong. Good luck :)
Edit:
Sorry for answering this since I don't think you were talking to me but I typed it now anyways!
Actually i was talking to you ha! Thanks for the answer, it's helpful.
If say I don't use paladin, because i also have interest in hunter/shaman/rouge, what other decks do you think are fun, unique, and can climb ladder? I know having those three things in one deck is too much to ask for, but maybe you can just enlighten me on a few of your favorite decks? I really like studying decks and figuring out why/why not they are "good".

IMHO Shaman are the strongest overall class at the moment.

If you find my posts to be rude, objectionable, or whatever, well, I got tired of writing polite TL; DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) posts at crybaby whiners. So now I just make it short and nasty.
If you find that funny, well and good. If you find that sad, that's even better.

I don't think Control Giants is THE control pally deck and the only viable one to move up the ladder. Saad has a very nice control deck in his thread. The OP just had a deck that had not much synergy and no focus of aggro control or mid and not even a real true divine shield themed deck (no Blood Knight). But many great suggestions since.
There's a new flavor of Pally or at least not new but getting more popular and that's the Aggro divine favor Pally which has been having good success at least currently in meta because it's unexpected to see a real aggro rush Pally deck. Which also works very well with divine shield theme and back to the OP I think any divine shield theme focus is kinda gimmicky even w/ Blood Knight except for it being real aggro which by the cards you naturally use in a divine shield themed deck leans potentially aggro anyways. Saad basically posted a meshed version of Divine Favor Aggro/Divine Shield. I've been curious to try it or variations on Divine Favor aggro deck.

Quick notes:
I am NOT very rich with dust so I cannot craft very much. But I'd some to hear your poor and expensive suggestions. Thanks so much.
Your best board clear option is the combo of Wild Pyromancer and Equality. Also, have you thought about swapping Silver Hand Knight for Gnomish Inventor?
HandLock is too much fun.

Threw this together for reference:
You could easily replace the Tirion Fordring and Silvermoon Guardian for 2x Harvest Golem giving the deck a more solid mana curve as well.
