How much have you spent on HS? Got anything to show for it? Do you own the cards you payed for?
You know the answer to those questions.
Welcome to Splinterlands, a decentralized blockchain-based game, where you retain ownership of all your digital cards, and can actively trade them on the marketplace at any time.
Completing quests (win 5 ranked games with blue) could net you a few cards. What if one of them was a Gold-foiled legendary? That could net you $300+ dollars just for playing. There's also an in-game currency called DEC (dark energy crystals, like Hearthstone's gold) that you could trade out and convert into $USD if you wanted, or you could choose to spend it on cards in the marketplace. Entirely up to you.
Of course, there's always a catch. $10 for the starter pack to buy in to the game. After that, you can grind for your collection, or spend if you want. If you got sick of the game, you could liquidate your collection (like dusting) and cash out, if you so choose. Nothing to lose.
p.s.s. the game is still very early in its adoption phase, having already completed its Alpha+Beta sets (of which no more cards will be 'printed'!), and the next expansion is coming out this month, so the potential for ROI%+ is still very high.
1. Makes an unverified claim, no evidence, no source, calls it a "scam." 2. "Simple as that" de facto blanket statement, which nullifies credibility. 3. I clearly explained how one could easily "cash out" if they wanted to.
I didn't explain the technicals/specifics as it's not as simple as just using your mom's credit card from the basement.
Nope, completely original, by me. I suppose you could say that the incentive for me to market the game, is so that more recruits/players come, which would drive the prices of my collection up.
On that note, just finished end of season. Rewarded 26 cards for the rank I was in. One of which was a legendary.

yeah i started playing hearthstone to make money and keep my cards.....its a job you know,,I grind gold and I expect to get paid for playing....AYFS?
I actually do get paid very well to play Hearthstone...its called playing while I'm at work and laughing. I even got 989 packs for free from Amazon once. I have every card in the game and 66% of my collection is gold. Never once have I cared how much money I spent or what my ROI is... seriously wtf are you even talking about. No wonder why millenials are fucking lost. I don't play time-wasting games to make money;I play them to waste time while being entertained.
- however it's not am alternative to HS since it's mostly to collect cards, and HS is less for collecting and more for FUN and community/socialize.
- We obviously don't play Hearthstone to profit, It could be much better if HS has more transparency (BlockChain / consensus etc.) regarding Packs, game RNG and maybe some card trading features. but this is not the focus of the game.

troll.
I don't feel the need to back up my claims when there are dozens of articles and videos about this subject.
If I said, "Cigarettes cause cancer," I'm sure someone would call me a troll for not citing evidence, but that wouldn't make it less true.
Not all conversations have to follow the rules of formal debate. To assert otherwise is actually rather trollish.
My goal was not to prove my statement definitively, but to raise awareness of the inherent scam behind most blockchain games. My statement was perfectly adequate in that regard, as readers who may not have been aware of the controversy can now google it and decide for themselves -- which is what I would advocate anyway.
Sick of Blizzard's BS?

Please keep topics like this in our forum dedicated to other games. I'll take the liberty of moving it there for you.
Blockchain games are a scam, simple as that.
You can't "cash out" if no one wants to buy it.

Is this just a ad of the creators of the game?
Favorite Cards: 1. Lord Jaraxxus | 2. Malygos| 3. Edwin VanCleef | 4. Zephrys the Great| 5. Deathwing

Can you say the same for HS?
