I know it's not gonna do great in this meta, I'm fine with that, I just want an optimal version, so I'm looking for feedback.
Since Auctioneer doesn't work very well in Hunter, I decided to try to burst draw by generating a lot of tokens from Unleash, Rat Pack, Infested Wolf, etc. and drawing with Cult Master. Much of the time you can get enough damage in during the early game to kill your opponent without the full combo.
The first iteration of this list was much greedier, with Coldlight Oracle, Savannah Highmane, and Call of the Wild, but I found myself in a lot of situations where I couldn't keep up with all the card draw. Thus, I reinvested those slots (among others) into the early game, which can be very aggressive (Alleycat into Timber Wolf), draw additional cards (Elekk), or get sticky minions on the board for Cult Master value (Grandmother). Flex slots would probably be the two traps and Infested Wolf.
I posted this in a different forum and it was moved here which is why it looks like I made the exact same topic twice, feel free to delete this one if you see it mods
It's too slow, either depends on combo with Unleash (8 mana) or a deathrattle minion sticking on board. Did not have much luck with it or Auctioneer versions. I can't imagine what this deck would be like with pre-nerf Buzzard.
i don't see the point of timberwolf in this kind of deck. I would sub it for Tundra Rhino so your low cost minions are useful in the late game as oppossed to being dead draws, plus getting an emperor discount in this combo is nice too.
I would also test Powershot as it seems good nowadays (like a better demonwrath, as said by kolento) and allows you to control further until you get to the whole Malygos thing
Imo if you are running a cult master version then you need to play the deck very greedily and That its self makes it inconsistant I think. I would try cutting the cult master package ans playing double drake and 2 loot horders or acolytes or something like that.
In the OP post I explained this. The nature of Cult Master allows you to draw in large bursts, but unlike Auctioneer, it doesn't actually cycle cards that are already in your hand. Because of this, the greedier the deck is, the harder it is to actually play enough cards to keep up with effective Cult Master usage. The deck I had before had a lot more expensive cards including double Drake and Highmane, but I opted to swap them out for cheap minions that I can throw out of my hand later on when they will not affect the game.
I am on the fence about Loot Hoarders, but hate Acolyte in this deck. Hunter just doesn't have enough spells to control the board and must do so with minions. I ran versions of this with double and single Acolyte. It's actually hard to find a turn slow enough for him.

Looks cool to me. Have you tried starving Buzzard?
