...Well, seeing that all of them says ther VERY same thing I've got sort of an idea o -deal- with the problem. (I'm a long time reader of those forums, but this is my first post in them)
So everybody and their friends are sick and frustrated to play against the HEAVY aggro-type deck, right? Or, at least, so it seems.
What if we exclude them from the play? Every time you face a hunter, don't let him get the satisfaction of going to Your face. Skip it. Is faster, and somewhat easier. If a large amount of people do this, yes, it will be super easy to climb the ladder with face hunter but... At the price of the blame, and of actually NOT PLAYING THE GAME. How fun could it be?
If this thing starts to grow, eventually ALL Top decks will be face hunters, leaving them playing with themselves. This would heavily ruin the ladder (which is pretty much a mess as it stands) and *Maybe* Blizz will fix it in some ways.
I know that is not an easy way to deal with the archetype, because many people should leave hunters alone, but... I think is worth writing it down, just to see if it can be a thing.
What about your thoughts? Do you share this kind of idea? Do you actually like the way Hunters plays (as player and as opponent)? Or is something that we shouldn't be bothered about?
Discuss! Or join and take acton ...If you want. ;)
Whenever I play hunter for daily quests (with mid range or trap and not even face), people go out of their way to BM, rope, and in general piss me off. Hell I saw a priest who played double Kezan who added me after I beat him just to yell at me for playing hunter....even though I beat him with minion pressure on turn 10 not with face hunter burn)...i almost feel like people hate hunters just to hate something. Generally, hunter decks and players are no worse than anyone else who play the game and people who complain would complain about any top tier if they saw it a lot on ladder. Heck, my priest deck is more annoying than mid range hunter and not one person who I faced tried to add me after an auchenai circle play won me a game I had not business winning.
Yeah, that's not really what I meant and I feel you. However, is an undobtable sign of HOW MUCH frustrating face decks are for most of the people (as it seems, I don't own any data to back up my sentence with). People doesn't hate hunters. People DO hate a deck that completely ignores their deck-building efforts. The thing is, Hunter has all the tools to push this kind of playstyle to the very extreme. Is like a bad song of a good genre, spammed for months on the radio. Ends up that people dislike EVERY song that shares half a tone with the bad one. So is not just a whimsical behavour (a la WoW, where NOBODY is happy EVER ;P (<- yes Hyperbole.) ) involving illogical Hunter hate. Is not that hunter became the sacrifical lamb... It's just generalized frustration against the 'iconic' class of the worst AND most effective archetype.
Well, 'realize' is a very VERY realtive word to use, in a game that has Region-Locked servers, don't you think? :) Your argument is valid as long as there is an 'archetype' deck that counters aggro AND is viable not only for every class, but even able to stand it's own against other decks. Which, as far as I know, there isn't. But please, if you have one, feel free to share! As for the 'grow up' thing, I am, thank god! :D
Facehunter is not what it was. I'ts easily counter-able if you happen to face that many. Heal the hell up, get early minions, good bye hunter. Refusing to play against them is quite the childish and coward solution.
And you don't realize that kind of guys don't care about not playing. You don't play this deck for fun: you play to get quick wins. Surrendering will just make their life better.
What do you mean by saying 'is not what it was'? There were a time where face hunter was even better? The problem is that is very hard to balance a deck to be an hard counter for the aggro archetype AND viable against other decks (Not countering other decks, just... You know, able to stand a chance) at the same time. Most of the healing spells/minions reveal to be bad plays or not needed against control and combo decks, for example.
As for the childish and coward solution, well, I don't have to demostrate any braveness and avoiding a fight that is for the most part stressfull is hardly childish, I think. Hearthstone has always been stressed by Blizzard as a FUN game, made to enteratain people (and the TGT exp. is underlining this line of thought, introducing lots of 'Not best slot but fun' cards). If face hunters will find fun to entirely skip their matches, it will be a win/win condition.
In the OT I already said that the consequences of auto-surrendering to face hunters would be devastating for the ladder, the 'top qualifications' and the statistics about most played decks and so on (even if it is ALREADY one of the most effective decks out there) - the idea is for a better balance of aggro-control effectiveness. if Blizz sees that aggro is way too far on the top, I think that measures will be taken.
I talk about face hunters, but we can extend the talk to aggro mages, or so called 'Cancer Mage', that was very popular before GVG, and evolved somewhat in 'Mech Mage'. The point is that there is no REAL countermeasure to those deck if not luck. Keeping a couple of taunts, a couple of heals and ONE tech card doesn't REALLY counter aggro deck, more likely adds chances to NOT lose. Where, on the other way, is allmost a guaranteed win.
And building a deck THOUGHT to counter aggro completely kills any chance to win against EVERY other archetype of deck.
Oooh yeah. When Undertaker was not nerfed. Their early was almost impossible to catch-on, it was astonishingly annoying and powerful. Two thirds of the matches on ladder were against them.
That's how the meta was in December, when I felt like trying to get legend. And I did it. Because my deck was partly built to have every weapon possible against facetard: six cards of healing. And yet, I was able to rekt control decks too. Because your deck has got tools against aggros does not mean those tools are useless against control. Early minions like shielded minibots or muster for battle allow to have a good tempo against control, and obviously be able to keep up the pace of aggro decks, for example. Check the guide that I made when I did reach my objective. It was anti-aggro AND lategame oriented.
Funny thing is, we are 8 months later and that deck works marvellously well, because people think Control Paladin is not a thing and thus get quite surprised. Anyway, on to the subject: you can rekt the current face hunter which is totally fair compared to what it was, while being able to keep up against more lategame decks.
One last thing: my win tate against mech mage is LITERALLY 100% with my deck. I have early and huge board clean, I'm happy when I face them. You act in a quite close minded way, thinking that some play styles are completely OP and non counterable when there are various possibilities to counter them.
Maybe your decision-making in-game is not good enough either. If for example you don't aldor a 2/3 because "it's not worth it", you obviously won't make it. Tempo > Value. Keep that in mind.
Ok, first of all, barely anyone is gonna do this. Like 10 people. Secondly, letting everyone who plays this deck you hate get to legend makes no sense. You're rewarding them. In your dream scenario, everyone at legend will be face hunters, and then Blizz will see that and nerf them. But Blizz has already have given you tools to defeat them, and you're not using them. Not using anti-aggro cards because they're bad against other decks is understandable, but if you don't want to lose games, don't auto-concede when facing hunters. It's impossible to have a deck that always has a favorable matchup. You can't use the argument that you don't want to lose games to certain types of decks, because you're already doing that. You're losing to aggro. Look for decks other people have had success with. Or if you hate face hunters so much, make your own deck that counters the shit out of them. Yes, you'll probably lose to other decks, but I would imagine crushing these decks you hate so much that you would auto-concede to them would feel pretty good.
Before being a scumbag from seeing your opponent is a hunter, and roping or rude BMing or other childish hate tactics...consider a few things.
1. Not every hunter is a face hunter, a lot of people are fascinated by control hunter and TGT is pushing this archetype much more so than face.
2. Some people are merely doing their daily quest, many of which say win 2 games with this or that class.
3. New players can't really afford to play any other class competitively. Hunters generally run zero epics and zero legendaries. All you need are a few rares (savannah highmane, not even in all hunter decks), and there are a bunch of great commons and starter hunter cards. Meaning with hunter day 1, even before you buy a pack, you can build a decent deck....which after a few packs can become a good deck.
...Well, seeing that all of them says ther VERY same thing I've got sort of an idea o -deal- with the problem.

So many face hunter threads lol
Yes they are scum and require zero skill but dont keep banging on about it
Start a name and shame thread if it makes you feel better :D

Really? If i play hunter everyone is gonna concede to me? Guess what class i'm piloting to get that Rank 5 reward this season is that's the case?
