No, this isn't a "Mill rogues are OP" QQ thread. I'm positive they are only barely competitive if that. This has to do with my matchup. I play the new combo warrior, specifically the variant by Yong Woo , and this matchup just feels like a hopeless struggle beginning to end. I think it has to do with half the deck requiring commitment and late game mana to play, and the other half cycling itself. Not to mention you have to wait for two vanishes before even attempting to get everyone in here. All of this would be fine if it were another deck, I mean, lots of decks have bad matchups, but with mill rogue it takes SO LONG for you to lose. So I'm asking the community, is it more worthwhile to just skip these games so I have more time to gain stars elsewhere? Are there other decks that have matchups so bad you should just concede?
"my name is Balthier21 in all online games since i was 21. Balthier was taken and i had to add my age. i was playing competetive yugioh and MTG tcg from 19-25. again idk what this has to do with the topic.... maybe you post all this nonsense because i am right. i can type 5 pages of reasons why hungry dragon is better than shredder but im really bored to do it"
Yeah, I'd say that if it's a matchup that you know that you're basically guaranteed to lose, and if it's going to take a while to lose, you're doing both you and your opponent a favor; saving both of your time. If you switch to Geico, saving 15 minutes on one of your games could give you 15% more wins.

Question: If you're in a canoe, paddling upstream, and all four wheels fall off, how many pancakes does it take to sand the doghouse if there's 28 frogs in the oven?
I'm tempted to concede when playing against priest. It gets so freaking boring and annoying to have your minions yanked on turn six and turn 10+. Then inevitably it comes down to fatigue and they've outhealed you by 4 hp. It's the tax return of matchups.
I don't see them in ranked, but I always concede in casual. I'm here to have fun, not play a boring-ass game where a billion coldlights get played and 90% of my deck is burned. Sure, it's not that hard to beat them but I'd say avoiding such an obnoxious matchup is worth losing a star.
There are always times where you win those matches + don't you play for fun? Mill Rogue is a very fun deck to play with AND to play against, so why skip the matches?
IF to skip anything than its facehuntard ... not because u can't win but because it's no fun.
I do play for fun normally, but I've never tried to ladder up with one deck consistently before, I don't wanna be that guy who is stuck at rank 15 anymore. Not that it matters anyway, the deck I'm using is supposedly a legend deck and ladder has been kicking my ass. Maybe Hearthstone just isn't for me. I mean, I don't have the card collection to have the fun of theorycrafting, and I'm apparently too bad to play good decks right anyway.
Id onlybe auto conceding if my win rate was something ridiculous like under 20%.
As much as people would disagree if I find myself having a matchup this bad I would be implementing tech cards to improve the matchup or looking for a new deck. Mill rogue might not be a powerhouse but as its relatively new and a new rogue card is about to come in you can imagine they will still be around for a little bit.
I think the key with alexstrazza freeze mage and mill decks are they are a ton of fun to play as, but not fun at all to play against. Concede gives your opponent a free win so weather in Ranked (they earn a star) or casual (helps complete a daily probably) I'm sure the opponent will be happy. So do it, if you want.

I completely disagree that playing agains't a mill rogue is fun. There is almost zero interaction unless you get a kick out of completely wasting your cards. I will admit, that the last priest vs mill I played was indeed entertaining where it basically came down to me accidentaly drawing 2 cards (I have no card draw in the deck) by virtue of thoughtstealing an azure and mindvisioning a thalnos. Enemy deathlords were stolen, healbots were shadowmadnessed and vanished, it was quite the mess, meh, it can be fun occasionally.
But yeah, I never concede, even, after seeing my opening hand I can deduce that I have no chance of winning. Just play it out, QQ about your bad draws, and queue up for next game. There's always the chance your opponent draws shit aswell. Never happened to me though, bless my luck.
1. If you are considering conceding because "you can't win" then don't concede. Even the most poorly matched deck wins about 40% of the time. Thus conceding is hurting your win rate more than just playing it through.
2. If it causes you to tilt. If so then do consider it. Tilt is the mind killer. If conceding means the difference between you being able to carry on to the next match normally and being so out of it that it hurts your future games, then it's worth it to pull back.
3. If you are looking for fun matches more than just competitioni and mill isn't fun for you, concede. No one is forcing you to play in a way you hate just like how no one (should) be forcing mill decks to no longer mill. If you are after fun, play where it's fun.
4. If mill rogues represent a lot of your matches: switch your deck. That is, if conceding to every mill makes it so that you can't win 50% of your matches then that just won't do. Even if it means picking a new deck then you need to do something. It doesn't have to have an advantage vs mill. Just win enough so that you get that 50%. Of course, that means tracking your games.
So yeah. Whether it's best for you to do so or not is up to you. Myslef I don't autoconcede but that's heavily because doing so WOULD cause me to tilt compared to playing the game out. Once the game feels like I'm just hunting for 'easy' opponents, I lose interest. But that's me. You need to do you.

Well and there you already had fun with mill rogues ^^ I always enjoy those match ups :) I do also enjoy the "Everyone get in here!" but i never lost to it yet :D Thumbs up for never surrendering and keep that up
^ this guy clearly likes him some mill decks. keep wasting peoples time. thumbs up
Haven't seen many Mill decks lately. Somehow the Druid version seems more reliable but the Rogue one is potentially faster. Never concede unless a comeback win is clearly impossible, or if you're trying to finish a daily before work or school and time is limited. Whenever possible make your opponent find a way to beat you. Sometimes they won't be able to.

Never concede, I've seen people fireball themselves on accident even at ranks 10+.
Edit: Before someone thinks I'm saying a rogue is going to fireball themself. Moral of the story, misclicks are things, as are dc's.

So I totally get what you are saying OP.
On topic anyway, no you should not concede to Mill rogues IMO.

Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
i concede if im not on a streak and its a working mill deck i just dont have that much time to spend on one match
If you can't beat them, join them
^ this guy clearly likes him some mill decks. keep wasting peoples time. thumbs up

Aggro players saying mill is no fun, too long, boring. Mill players saying aggro is brainless, pointless, retarded.
