Haha lets all rejoice? No lets all move onto the next card/class to whine about. This undertaker nerf thread is already slowly turning into a nerf boom thread, so I guess its boom.
For mine its probably handlock/zoo that benefits most from a reduced amount of hunters - so let the warlock complaining begin.
FWIW does this really affect anything that greatly? Hunters may just take out leper/clockworks and chuck in a bit more mid - late game (maybe an extra houndmaster or trap) They will still be solid. I play hunter as a main and don't see this as much of an issue.
As always, hunter is largely immune to nerfs, so not a big deal there. I do appreciate cutting off deathrattle priest, that was more of a problem than hunter.
YEA! Fuck you hunters! That shit was so OP. I just lost a ranked game due to hunter coining out TWO UT, then following turn TWO goddamn webspinners, followed by a fucking mad scientist, and hogger. Now tell me that isn't OP.

The meta will shift in an enormous way , Mid range and control decks will raise again , We wont be obligated to put answers to 1 specific one drop anymore , more possibilities are open , and that's just great for the game , more versatilitie .... oh boy i waited for that nerf for ages , i can now derp around with dumb decks with some amount of succes :)
All of the current tier 1 strategies are either midrange or control ? What more are you expecting them to rise
And nope
70% of the ladder is either hunter or zoo ,Even casual is infested with those kind of decks . so please .
Top and bottom is not the same meta... The ladder structure incentivises aggro decks.
People keep mentioning that the top of the ladder is different, but honestly all the times I watched Legend rank Streamers they faced more or less the same amount of Aggro & Control decks as lower down. It was exactly the same when I was playing in Legend ranks in earlier seasons. I believe this is a myth and would like to know where this supposed information comes from.
Testing new aggro decks as we speak and it's going well. Aggro isn't going anywhere. It would be nice if the poll had a third option 'Hearstone isn't just one card.'

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Nerfing the Undertaker whilst leaving Mechwarper in it's current state seems a bit moot.
It's a useless card now, it should have been a 1/3 with "gain +1 Attack" to ensure it's still a viable and powerful early game minion but not a one that can snowball into an unanswerable monster. As it is there's no reason anyone will ever play it over a Micro Machine.
Pretty much this. This nerfed the card into unusable. Now it's just a worse Cogmaster / Micro Machine / Lightwarden / etc. A more appropriate nerf would have been to make it a 2 cost or 3 cost card, even with appropriate stats. The core problem with the card was that it came out too early and snowballed out of range of any cost-appropriate removal. If it was a 5-5/5 with the same effect it would have been worse, but still playable (for example).
Undertaker was probably the single card that caused DR hunters to be competitive, to be honest, hunters are not even considered op at higher lvl of play, it is just a class that most players did not enjoy playing against. In my opinion, this was a good move by blizzard, since most players are happy about the nerf. The meta will probably become more midrange and control, but we still have zoo, so the super late game decks still have a hard counter. I personally prefer playing a 10-15 min control game where I get to play out my cards, rather than having the game decided by my opening hand. Good job Blizzard.

Mech decks were way worse than deathrattle decks before this nerf. Why would blizzard go out of their way to ban a card that isn't the driving force for the strategy the completely defines the meta? If Mechwarper becomes that card (which I doubt because it's easier to deal with, part of decks with worse cards, and isn't as relevant late in the game) then they'll nerf it.
Undertaker costs 1, so yeah there's a great reason to play it over micro machine. It's still mana efficient if you play it and then play a single deathrattle guy. If you play a hunter and they play untertaker on turn 1 you still have to kill it ASAP or you're basically giving your opponent a 1 mana kill command at best.
Everyone playing Huntertaker will switch to Mech-Mage, guarantee it. Mech-Mage will be the new cancer, but we will probably still see an increase in control matchups.

please do that ^^ mech mage is way easier to beat, no wonder it is a low tier in the current meta!

I didn't say I would be switching up.. :P I'm gonna do some experimenting. I don't think hunter is dead from this, but a lot of people will prolly jump ship. Mech-mage will be the new "get to the higher ranks quick" class.
Hunter will be still playable and people will quickly find a new best hunter deck. I'm 100% sure of this.
Regarding the nerf, I do not like the general idea of changing cards, but this one was badly designed from the start. It was way too powerful compared to the other 1 drops and still not bad.
Any change that facilitate less aggro is welcomed.
No. This is a myopic POV. Aggressive decks are important in maintaining the overall balance of the game. If you think you'll enjoy Hearthstone more if aggressive decks were eliminated, you're probably much more wrong than you think.
Nerfing the Undertaker is a good thing. It was far superior to any other 1-mana nuetral minion. But we still want aggressive decks to be viable; trust me. They'll just have to be more creative now.
Any other hunter players feel like this is just not that big of a deal?
AFAIK the probability of drawing the perfect undertaker draw on turn 1 with coin is less than 1% if you're playing 4 other 1 mana deathrattle mobs. After turn 2 undertaker looses a ton of value assuming you spent 1+ death rattle cards over turn 1 and 2 - generally ending up as a filler for the off chance you need to fill some mana to stay on curve.
The majority of my wins with hunter are not dependent on opening with an undertaker/deathrattle combo. If anything, knowing how to consistently do damage with hero power while maintaining a board presence is what has always allowed hunter to be strong.
Also, am I the only one who has never fallen victim to an out of control snowballing undertaker? Deal with it and move on.
About time, maybe we can finally get some originality, especially in aggro decks.
It probably would have been fine nerfing it to a 1/1 instead of nerfing the +1/1 to just +1 attack. However I think we can all agree that a never-played Undertaker (at least in good constructed decks) is far better for the game than an OP Undertaker.

Mana wyrm is a class card tho. It is funny that people request UT to be just as good as a class card now lol, lets you know how bad it was.

i was thinking the exact same thing. just make the base stats weaker if anything.

Anyone who disagrees with the undertaker nerf is a fucking moron.
THE CARD IS A FUCKING COMMON AND BROKE THE ENTIRE BALANCE OF THE EARLY GAME FORCING YOU TO MULLIGAN OR SNOWBALL AND LOSE. PERIOD.
this shit has been a long time coming. thanks.
