I have been thinking about this a lot the past few days. I main Shaman and Priest. So far this season I've climbed to rank 9 with my Shaman deck, but am stuck at the 10-9 range. The reason is because of Zoo's and Hunters obviously- I beat most other decks. Anyway, I never played during Naxx so I've been missing a lot of cards. I was bored last night so I decided to get drunk and go ahead and complete the expansion. I literally could not beat a single boss with my Shaman deck. I got frustrated so I made a zoo lock deck in 10 seconds and beat the boss I was stuck on in about a minute. Then I went back to edit my deck, and due to my drunk muscle memory instead of going back to Naxx, I queued ranked. I've never played zoo lock before, and I beat a rank 9 rogue on turn 5. I was drunk and just threw whatever cards were in my hand on the board and went face. He added me and told me he's never been beat so fast before lol.
Then, this morning I was doing a little grinding with my Shaman and was losing to a lot of hunters. I tanked back down to 10. So I decided to test this overpowered nonsense for myself. I literally have never even made a Hunter deck before, but I threw one together...just kind of yolo based on what cards I know are OP. I won in the same manner as the zoo lock- I threw whatever cards were in my hand on the board and went face. I beat a Rank 9 Hand Lock and a Rank 9 Priest with a deck and class I have NEVER played before.
These experiences have proven to me beyond a doubt that these decks are simply overpowered, take no skill nor require any thought. It's because of that they're so popular. Being overpowered and getting easy wins has a huge draw. Playing these decks is essentially the equivalent of 90's queuing 3's against 70's in WoW...or 10v5 RBGS... beating any video game, getting max powers and going back to stomp through level one.
In my opinion, if they can't balance the Hunter class, it should just be removed from the game and replaced with the Death Knight or Pandaren.
P.S. Aren't Handlocks and Priests supposed to counter Hunters? LOL
Everytime I face a huntard with und + coin + leper gnome, I proceed to only do my turns when the rope is at the middle of the screen.
In other news, Mech mage playstyle: Mechwarper + vomit entire hand on board.
roping every turn is far worse than a cancerous start. you deserve to get owned by hunters for roping ;)
This, definitely ;)
That being said, insane aggro starts also put me on tilt instantly. If I'm playing Casual, I tend to auto-concede to Undertaker, Coin Leper Gnome (or any 1-drop deathrattle) if I can't remove the Undertaker.
But yet, the worst things always happen in Arena. I'm taking a break after losing to a mage who played 2 Flamestrike, 4 Fireballs, 2 Frostbolts (plus quality minions) in 12-14 turns or so, and finished me with... a topdecked fifth Fireball. Blergh.
Opponent turn 1 zombie chow , i fiery war axe and hit it . he puts a neb egg , i armour up and pass . he power overwhelmings the egg , hits my face and coins void terror . He gets a 4/4 and 7/9 on the board .

So my opponent has 3 minions, one of them sylvanas, i got 5 minions, one is ragnaros, next turn, i win all i need is for him to not steal ragnaros AND if he does, to not snipe my face
i end turn, ragnaros kills sylvanas...ok thats a 25% chance of happening, sylvanas steals rag...thats a 20%, next turn, he ends, ragnaros snipes my face...20% again
I got outskilled...what else can i say ...
also as always i'm tired and sick of hunters that go face for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Which is amusing, because I'm currently salty at the control hunters. Admittedly I only usually know that they're control hunters if they get the perfect opening hand, but it's really, really annoying to have my early game torched by 2 Explosive Traps, my midgame stalled by 2 Freezing Traps, and my late game start down 2-3 cards with my opponent having a Savanah Highmane on the board and me already down ~1/3 my health.
I have 5 minions on the board. The opponent is a top decking mech mage. I have 6 life left. They only have 2 Boom Bots left on the field after I've just dealt with Dr. Boom himself. He draws and drops a random mech. That means there is only one way he can win this...
He runs a boom bot into one of my minions. Out of the 6 targets it can pick, it explodes on my face. And it's 1-4 damage goes off... for 4. Hit's me with his other bot and hero powers me for exact lethal damage. :P 1/24 chance of that happening.
What do i do when I have a literal 50% winrate, but in 77 games (in a row) i am at the same exact rank... the frustration is huge, I win one lose one most of the time, sometimes i win 2 but then ill lose 2... am i a bad player or am i having really bad luck?? do i need a better deck.. i don't know... (playing ramp druid for anyone interested)
Another 30 games down and im in the same spot, losing to rediculous topdecks and crazy RNG every second game....
Anyone interested in coaching? seriously ive grinded for a near complete collection since beta and ive never made legend :/
What rank? 100 games at the same rank is your skill cap. That's not a bad thing its the way the system is designed to work. If you can record some games pm them to me and I'll give you any advice I can think of.
Geez... damn thanks Facehunters I really didn't want to get to a higher rank know, thanks for doing me this one again Was really fun. I feel like playing some more know. For realsies.
Actually I like calling them Handhunter because it doesn't matter what's on the board but they bitch slap you all the time with huffer and kill commands.
And yeah. Thank's RNGesus for supporting Hunter in it's quest making me do this rank again. I really didn't want those anti aggro cards anyway.
Thanks.
I'm going to play some Planescape: Torment now... shit, they should have let the nameless play hearthstone. Much more effective.
Board is clear, hunter played some secret. I am playing priest and turn four i use Mindgames, i get his King Krush I ponder whether he played Freezing Trap for a moment. Nah, he wouldn't play freeze trap on a cleared board. I go for face with krush, it's freeze trap, now I have an 11 mana card (no coin). Salt overwhelming.
"So much this LOL"
Can you translate your ellipsis please? I do not understand the over all message of it.
Thank you

Sometimes I wonder if Blizzard conspires (at some point in the day) against players who have a battle tag ending/starting at certain digits...
What do i do vs this ?

execute.
my first execute came 15 cards in.
I do not believe a single word of your well conceived story, not one!

I just came in here for a hug, what can I say, I'm just a love rat.

In fairness (oops, I'll keep this short), there did need to be some sort of anti-aoe. Completely control dominated meta isn't much fun either.
That said, I definitely agree that the early game synergy enhancers are wee (way) too buff.

No offense bruh but if you're playing gimmick.dec (AKA quartermaster paladin) you don't really have the right to complain about much of anything...
