Don't forget doing your daily quests every day + rerolling all the 50 ones...
You can also farm some gold in fast tavern brawls and get go 100 gold each day = 700 gold in a week (feels really depressive for me though..) + some of your friends might occasionally bless you with an 80 gold quest
The most beneficial mode is Arena (and the most salty as well) :)
P.S. My goal is to farm 26 000 gold in 4 months (Uldum ---> next expansion period of time) so far so good!
I usually just do my daily quests and try not to miss too many. Only doing this I've got myself about 7k gold between expansions. I stopped playing casual a while ago now. Just prefer ladder, even if I'm playing some dank meme deck.
I can't imagine how much I'd need to play in order to get 26k gold in 4 months! Maybe I'd even have a chance of hitting legend if I played that much!
Do quests vs a friend every 2 or 3 days and try not to miss one. Even doing 50g quests, you'll make more gold doing them then you would farming for hours unless your win rate is high and games are short (i.e aggro).
I usually spend my time working, and then buying pre-release bundles. Time=money, don't be fooled into thinking you're getting those packs for free. I can then spend my time actually playing the game, rather than farming.
Just do the quests and brawls. Farming the 10-for-3 wins is not worth anyone's time. If you play that much Hearthstone anyway, so be it, but just let it happen naturally. There's no reason to go out of your way to force it.
If you really want gold (or dust) that badly, it might make more sense to get good at Arena.

I make anywhere between 10-30 extra gold playing normally, so the bare minimum is 60 gold total daily, no matter what. Usually around 80-90. Depending on the day and mood, a little more.

Also, this. The time and energy needed is enormous, and grinding can also burn you pretty fast. A single pre-release bundle + what I get just from dailies + normal play gold easily gets me between 130-200 packs, depending on how lazy I am. That's enough to have most cards and enough dust to craft anything I want and still have leftovers, and best of all, without making Hearthstone a second job.
I made an second account to try the new player experience when they changed into 50 ranks. Sometimes I go reroll my quest and if I get the 80 gold quest I play myself on my primary account.
I would not recommend it solely for the gold, but if you as me enjoy the "old" experience of a not having any cards and making do with what you have, and making your way up through the ranks, give it a go.
I usually only play priest, so I try to reroll the quests to be able to complete them with priest. I don't wait for 3 quests to pop up, as I play on a daily basis. I don't really farm though. I just play the game, buy expansions and the money received in-game are just bonus.
My way is to play casual mode and insta concede my bad matchups.
E.g. at the moment, playing quest maly druid, and will insta concede vs paly or murloc shaman, and will try to farm rogue, shaman, and quest hunter.
Wondering how others do it..

I play in the wild format, do not farm gold, it makes the game boring

Everyone has golden heroes. This is 2019
Except I’m sure you are missing plenty of cards in your collection.
Those numbers are meaningless if you don’t have full collection.
If you are f2p and you want to get as many cards as possible you should:
You need to play at least 4 hours per day for best results(arena)
