Sometimes people don't do it just to irritate people. Usually I play the game when I'm at work, and sometimes I have to leave my desk for a few minutes. I'll usually come back with an "I'm sorry" in those cases.
For everyone who realizes they have absolutely won or lost their match, and spend their last turns waiting the entire length of their turn in an attempt to upset the opponent and waste time.
Thank you, I spend that much needed time relaxing "between" games, and catching up on hearthstone forums, decks, and news so I can get better at the game and continue pissing off people like you, who can't win, and throw a fit about it.
You're awesome <3
Can't win? But i just roped your last turn and fireballed your face for lethal after trading away all your minions.
It is indeed highly annoying. Ranks right up there with saying "Thank you" or "I'm Sorry" when you win.
i say "thank you" if my opponent missplayed his turn and basicly gave me leathal (like yesterday shaman with doomhammer cleared 4/4 minion and took 8dmg to face, i would not have leathal otherwise) or i say "sorry" when i topdeck leathal. No BM just using the emotes in the situation i think its appropriate :p
This is completely BM. An opponent misplaying a turn a giving you lethal is not a situation where 'thank you' is appropriate.

Then what is the appropriate situation for "thank you"?
why da fock do you care if someone says "tank you" or "sorry" or whatever i never squelch anyone, yesterday i had one priest he never stopped pushing "tank you" the whole game i don't really care i just want to see the stupidity and persistence of some people, its kind of amusing,i dont use the emots i never say "hello" nor "well played" but there are people that use that stuff and are amused,me i dont care for someone i never met before he can spam the emots as much as he wants i dont give a fock,i am pretty much cold person so almost nothing bothers me
It annoys me when someone is using the emotes to be a smart ass, but you're right. I shouldn't give a flying f***.
It annoys me as well. Last time I was playing control warrior and my opponent (Handlock) kept spamming I GREET YOU every few second. I thought he just wanted to be annoying but he was actually bragging about his hand (first 10 cards -> 2x Azure Drakes + 2x Mountain Giants). I proceeded to win and on my last turn I kept spamming:"HEH, GREETINGS" then dropped Ragnaros for the lethal just before the end of the rope. Sweet revenge.

Thank you's meaning is rather well understood, but here is an example if you need one.
You are down in board position but you play your turn very efficiently and come out on top, so your opponent tells you 'Well Played'. Thank you is an appropriate response.
Thank you does not mean, RNG gave me good cards from your deck out of Thoughtsteal

People who complain about emotes but do not Squelch are just as bad as people who complain about the government but skip voting in elections. If emotes bother you, Squelch. If you don't Squelch, then don't complain about emotes.

For u it might be BM, for me it is more like expressing my feelings with only way possible in the game. In that situation i might actualy be thankful to him, that he missplayed and ended long/boring game right here and there and i can move on to the next one. Im not saying im doing it after every missplay, but sometimes when opponent just donates me a game, im genuinely thankful so i say thank you :P

Grateful then or w/e ... if u want to take those IG emotes literally it is your choise and u can use them as u like, but u dont have to be so pedant about it :P
Double Alarm-o-bots + Noz + Kel would be pretty funny.

sodium chloride is real in this thread
If you're happy and you know it... well that's good :)
I wait till the rope burns every turn as the ultimate BM... In actuality, I watch t.v while playing hearthstone, so I dont really pay attention.
Then what is the appropriate situation for "thank you"?
