For everyone who realizes they have absolutely won or lost their match, and spend their last turns waiting the entire length of their turn in an attempt to upset the opponent and waste time.

Thank you, I spend that much needed time relaxing "between" games, and catching up on hearthstone forums, decks, and news so I can get better at the game and continue pissing off people like you, who can't win, and throw a fit about it.

    You're awesome <3

If that were the case you wouldn't feel the overwhelming urge to come to forums and shove it down their throats how you don't care and how it's awesome. If you truly didn't care you wouldn't even noticed it and certainly wouldn't come to forums to talk about it.

Truth is you hate them for it but can't do anything about it so you come to talk how "you love it".

Of course, because it's an incredible waste of my time to spread positive ideas and share happiness with other people ;)

You could have saved yourself a lot of time and energy and just said "you mad bro?" like a troll usually would.

So, what do you guys mean by saying shaman is or isn't viable? Is it like 50.1% win rate on rank 5, or 75% on high legend, or what?

In any case it really boils down to anecdotal proofs and I guess we have some, I'm rank 4 with pre-GvG seagiant build after all, and Huma who is obviously a more experienced player claims to reach legend with post-GvG build. It's quite enough, isn't it?

The question pertains to whether or not the Shaman class has functions that perform at or better than other classes, making it a class worth building a deck around, as opposed to another class. The general consensus seems to be that they perform well, they just don't do anything too amazing which makes other classes seem more appealing. I've been having decent luck with midrange since this post, but in general I seem to have much better win rates with Warrior, Warlock, and Mage currently.

I think so, Shaman got a lot of upgrades, Crackle is better than Lightning Bolt, Powermace is better than Spirit Wolves, Annoy'o Tron is better than Haunted Creeper with Powermace, Harvest Golem is better than Unbound Elemental with Powermace, Neptulon is an excellent anti-control card and over all the deck performs better than it did before with a better curve relative to Overload. Meanwhile Priest got Vol'Jin, which is terrible in the Shaman match up, Lightbomb, which is terrible in the match up and people have been cutting Loatheb since Miracles was nerfed.

Biggest pain in the ass now is Mage with Exploding Sheep, mainly Echoing Giants.

This post combined with browsing through like 15 decks has actually helped me assemble a really well working Shaman deck so far. I'm really enjoying midrange play with some of the newer cards. Thank you!

Really liking this deck, I currently took out Gnomish Inventor for Jeeves and replaced the Feral Spirit x2 with Sylvanas Windrunner and Cairne Bloodhoof. I'm loving the protection of the taunts, and the Antique Healbot providing me some free use of the Powermace cards. I also removed 1 Flametongue Totem for Harrison Jones simply for the current weapons heavy Paladin/Warrior/Rogue/Shaman play in ranked currently.

    Awesome deck

I would put two Youthful Brewmaster just to spam even more mines. Or even go for a full mech deck in order to exploit the Time Rewinder spare part. =)

Interesting idea, this might be an interesting stall deck, while you watch the opponent cringe every time he draws a card

I'm using him in my control warrior deck simply because I'm missing some really good legendaries like Dr. Boom and Alexstrasza. The randomness of the mine matters a lot less when basically every game goes 20-30 turns, and it's won me a few matches after I forgot the mine was even in their deck!

Thanks for the link, it's pretty much the viewpoint I assumed Blizzard had.. I still have a small hope that some day in the future they might find a way to format a marketplace alongside the dust system.

Healing a friendly minion to death while forgetting that you have Auchenai Soulpriest out.

The first time I did this I think I stopped playing for a week!

Could be a tax of some sorts

like spending 100 gold to even consider trading or $1 to spend a day trading

There's a lot of people stating that because this game is F2P, trading would ruin the model. I think your idea is the closest to something reasonable here, I mean look at TF2. They have a HUGE market for trading, and all with Valve taking a tidy profit through trade taxes.

While trading cards with friends might never be a thing, I don't see why in the future a marketplace of some sort wouldn't be a possibility, other than the chance that Blizzard simply likes the way they have it, and that's that.

You miss lethal for the third time in a row, and then lose next turn again...

Owwww, I will say at least my ping didn't lose the match, it just looked incredibly stupid!

I find Shaman to be pretty decent. You have cheap answers for everything - Lightning Bolt/Earth Shock/Lightning Storm/Spirit Wolves for aggro, Hexes for control, and burst damage to screw up your opponent's plans and come from behind to take the game.

The only drawback is that it is too reliant on card draw, combos and RNG, because you need a confluence of multiple factors to achieve lethal (usually a combination of Windfury/Rockbiter/Bloodlust/Spell Damage).

This has been largely my experience, I'm starting to feel like before GvG I just accepted the huge reliance on RNG and card draw as "Shamanisms". Now with the release of GvG I'm just seeing a lot of classes get these huge boosts and makeovers to their playstyles and Shamans are just kinda... still Shamans. With them having something like 22 necessary cards that all depend on each other, it doesn't leave a lot of room in the remaining deck to toy with new ideas, and perhaps it just seems stale to me now.

Shaman still has better burst than most classes (or maybe all) with Lightning Bolt, Crackle, Rockbiter, Flametongue, Doomhammer, etc.  Card draw still atrocious though.

Midrange Shaman with Powermace/some mechs seems just fine.

Perhaps it's just a streak of bad draws for me so far, it seems that a lot of people agree that Shamans still maintain a strong presence against the usual meta decks, so I'll just keep trying!

Burst shaman got even better with GvG with Crackle and Whirling Zap-o-matic

Whirling Zap-o-matic can do a lot of damage if your opponent can't deal with it.

With the huge amount of low mana cost minions that are highly effective for all classes though, what are the chances they don't have a spell, minion, combo card, or weapon to deal with a 2 hp minion? I haven't tried it myself so I'll have to throw it into a couple decks and see if it adds pressure to the early game.
