I've noticed a new trend over the past couple months in which people won't say anything when the match begins, but once the match is almost over, and only if they are clearly going to win, they will suddenly emote "Greetings".
Now, my assumption is this is Bad manners and they are being jerks, but I'm curious to see if this is how most people see it?
I see it like this, they are sitting behind their screen, protected by it, being anonymous and rubing all over your face that they won you. I don't think people would do this that much irl, let's say in normal TCG or a chess match.
I get very tilted (that's the purpose anyway) when people do it, to the point that I add them and ask them why they did it, or if they feel cool for doing it. Most won't know what to answer. I am not going to do it, I feel good ofc for winning, no need to rub it on the other's face. Especially if I netdeck, why should I feel, that proud to the point of BMing. Or even if I won through extreme RNG like very good discovers or random card generation or lord of RNG Yogg Sarron.
I will greet at the end of the game if the pos player BM emotes all game long...or if they play a pos aggro deck. I have no respect for these pricks, and I will "greet" them once I have the game locked down.
On the other hand, if the other player is cool during the game, and does not BM me. I won't do a BM greeting at the end of the match...unless it's an aggro deck tho /grin

This is precisely the response that motivates trolls to troll. Getting a tilted friend request is the holy grail.

Yeh I know, sometimes I push myself not to do it, but if they win and then BM me, I get a little salty. On the other hand, if they BM because they think they won but then I turn the game, then I am entitled to BM the hell out of them =P
I will greet at the end of the match if the opponent is playing pos control deck and I manage to SMOrc them in five turns with aggro druid or pirate warrior. Sweet!
j/k
...but seriously man, if it bothers you, just squelch.
100% honest here, I have Done that many times and it is always by mistake. I play on mobile and at the end of a match I always hit "well played" regardless but sometimes I hit "greetings" instead. I know my opponent thinks im BM'ing but thats just not the case.
Just asshole, being asshole. Tilt me too, but at the end it is just a game. Best réponse to trolls is a perfect attitude. Don't let them lower you to their level.
I only say "greetings traveler" when I kill my opponent when playing hunter. Cause it's hunter, you should BM a little bit. I don't see it as trying to rub my opponents face in the loss or anything it's all in good fun.
Whenever I lose to smart plays or creative deck building I do a well played emote before my hero portrait explodes.
Even BMing aggro players get a WP from me if i lose. I can only control my own behavior, so why should i give a damn about somebody else's. I do squelch tho, when the opponent emotes too much. And often i squelch directly at start.
Heh, Greetings. fiery golden groms laugh makes the BM that much more satisfying when you just highrolled some tryhard to 0 in 4 turns playing as pirate warrior during the ez climb to legend. ;)
p.s. Theres a blow off salt thread for emotional affected individuals somewhere on this site.

Watch out guys, we have a badass over here!
Well, some people wanna be tryhards and enjoy both the climb and the deck they are playing on their climb to legend. I guess you are one of those people who rub it on their opponents face after they win. Do you do it also in your real life or just behind the screen? :)

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

The best feeling is when they do it and then still lose.
I am consistently astonished when people don't recognize that I'm playing an OTK deck and then die while they try to BM.
