I've played Hearthstone for two-and-a-half years, and have spent over $1000 on the game during that time. I'm an adult, good natured, and not someone that has ever complained about the game here or elsewhere... but I just opened 114 Un'Goro packs and got 3 legendaries. and a moderate amount of epics. This is extremely disappointing, to the point that I 've begun to feel rather ashamed of having gotten involved in what, in any other business arena, would essentially be considered a scam. With two legendaries being released for each class, and my now having only one quest card, plus this incredibly poor rate of drawing legendaries, the prospect of my getting to the point where I can really enjoy this expansion and get to play many different type of quests seems as if it would be absurdly expensive. And, like I said, this is from someone who has had no regrets spending over $1000. But this is totally ridiculous, if I project what this expansion would potentially cost me if I wanted to continue playing with a wide variety of decks.
I've been wondering how the game's makers would respond to the probability that the game's user base does not likely have much more room for expansion, since, occasionally, businesses with little perspective and a bad business model sometime attempt to compensate for such a situation by trying to take advantage of their existing customers when growth slows down. I was afraid I might see this happen with Hearthstone, and was concerned that the release of two legendaries per class might be a (not too subtle) sign of this, but I tried to keep an open mind. Getting only 3 legengaries in 114 packs, on the other hand, seems only to confirm my worse fears, and is making me wish that I'd never gotten involved in this illogical, virtual-pack nonsense to begin with. Maybe I'm the fool for having gone this far, but this is utterly ridiculous. In any other business arena, this business model would in itself be considered a scam or fraud, never mind with this type of result. I can't see myself continuing with the game.
Opened 58 packs, 1 legendary, I know technically this is within the pity timer but I'm going to tell you that I was already on the fence on spending any more money on this game and now I definitely won't spend any more.

Am curious, did you preorder Un'Goro? Aka did you dump money into your 114 packs or were they all from gold?
During the MSoG expansion and had 2 legendaries from 80+ packs and the two shitty ones, after that I had realized that blizzard significantly reduced the amount of legendary you get along with reducing the arena rewards so that people had to pay more and more, it is seriously getting annoying as hell.
So I will never pay any single dollar on HS and just collecting cards through Arena, I also had quitted ranked mode due to Pirate and Jade cancer in day two and was called a whiner and saw everybody was indeed complaining about the meta whole expansion, including the professional streamers.
Pity timer is what, 40 packs? So you're hitting the average.
pity timer is not the average, 17-20 packs is average
hmmmm ... smells a lot like the 30% free packs incoming again for NA, rip again EU, we always get screwed (except in WOW, I love the WOW devs ;D), still better than the idiotic week wait for Pokemon though
Not sure what the problem is. Blizzard are upfront about the pity timer being 40 packs. Thus 3 legendaries in 114 is slightly better than the worst possible situation (which would be 2). Accordingly, you knew what the deal was before you brought them, it cannot be considered a scam.
Also, as someone who only buys the pre-order bonus packs and gets adventures as a gift from my girlfriend at Christmas/Birthday etc., I can tell you it is perfectly possible to have tonnes of fun playing Hearthstone without having all the legendaries.
Blizzard have shown they aren't trying to rip you off with how they dealt with the Hall of Fame cards. They could have just allowed you to disenchant them for full dust value if you didn't want them anymore but instead they let you keep them and give you the full dust value anyway.
You got unlucky, sorry, but not anyone's fault and thus nothing be mad at Blizzard for.

Last time around I waited like blizz said and missed out for waiting for a fix. This time I'm ripping through since there's nothing to lose. If something's messed up we get rewarded.
This game needs a to have an option to buy full expansions for a flat price. No packs bullshit. Keep the packs for F2P's or when you save enough gold for an expansion.
It took me the full 40 packs to get my first legendary, currently have 3 out of 102 packs opened. I got booted off the server with another 21 packs to open so I'm really hoping I can squeeze 1 more out. Legendary drop seems a lower this time around compared to MSoG. It also sucks because I got all crap legendary cards (including the rogue quest). Lots of dust to craft what I want though!

Considering you post every fucking second on the salt thread I thought you would be a little more understanding of how frustrated this guy is. He has very valid points which should make blizzard ashamed. Robbing bastards...that is ridiculous. I am convinced there is a lower drop rate on cards bought with gold, people say there isn't but I think it's bullshit. It should be guaranteed legendary per 20 packs. The game is not cheap as others suggest, it's ridiculously expensive if you want to play fully right away. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. (Although, now you will see about 10 posts on how people are free to play and how big their cocks are! To that I also say bollocks, get a life and a job)
It is well known that the pity timer is 1 in 40, so I don't see how one could complain about getting exactly that. It's like playing Lightning Storm and then complaining that you only dealt 2 damage, even though you knew that was a possibility.
Nobody is getting screwed here guys, let's take it easy. If you hit more than 1 in 40, that's great! In the long run, it will even out to an average of 1 in 40 though.
Did we just get screwed? (expansion has 22 Legendaries)
Just realized one thing.
Is it possible average got a little lower Due to the Huge amount of Dust they gave out, Knowing most players will already be able to craft a couple Legendaries (if it is it sucks.)
The person doesn't really have very much to complain about:
-Everyone (just about) knows the odds of drawing a Legendary from the packs. It seems the person knew the odds but is upset that he has been drawing legendaries not that outside the norm for what someone would expect
-He has spent a decent amount of money in the past. This means in the past either he was OK with these odds or had very good luck and was happy with the rate at which he drew Legendaries. If in the past he had similar luck then he should have expected this outome. If he had good luck in the past then is just experiencing the other side of the coin and should not be too upset that the good luck has not continued.
-Even with only 3 Legendaries, he should still have a decent amount of dust from 114 packs that can be used towards other Legendaries (not even mentioning any other saved up dust).

3/114 is perfectly normal no news here
This is definitely not just bad luck. A lot of streamers had average or below drop rate of legionaries. I think something is broken.

139 Packs, 2 Legendaries, not the Average.
Posts are popping up with related issues,
I don't think this is the regular average.

Watched Krip and Trump streams and it looked pretty bad in terms of drop rate. Fingers crossed I stole all their RNG.

I opened arround 20 packs from various expansions during the last days and i got Onyxia, Auctionmaster Beardo, Patches the Pirate and Hallazeal the Ascended.
I'm very scary about my un'goro packs.
It has to be snakes.
cant hesitate to make this one
