The couse of such huge amount of RNG is the lack of resource cards(in form of land, power cards or whatever) and very little deck size. So to make games more different they add all those craze random effects. The problem is you are usually rely on them so much(rag\sulfurus attack, the shaman l strom damage difference), if they are no doing well you are usually screwed, and if not it easily can be a win condition.
I have no problems with playing in curve, unless its the only huge thing that matters. I am playing MTG since 1997 , and im really good at drafting, i like the limited formats, but the hs arena just makes me sad.
I was really exited, when the Un'goro hits the ground, pulled some quests, craft some cards, palyed a 4-5 decks. I have strong feeling, that game is still the same. Its a coin flip, no matter what. I really dont feel that im winning or loosing due to my good\bad plays and decisions, its just some form of solitaire , no skill involving. I crafted handlock which i always want to play, and it seems like a really skill based deck, but with all those random effects, its still a coin flip(i.e. druid playing Yogg and getting 3 board clearing spells against my wide and high board). You have a VERY unfavored matchups, where u really want to concede immediately, just to not feel miserable. There is no place to bluff\mind games here, and due to core game mechanics its always be towards aggro, just because its a game where the attacker have the advantage - he trades better and he can just hit the face whenever he wants(and a lot of decks really want it all the time, lul). The arean is even more random, its really awfull "play on curve or die" game, with really no place for some interesting strategy. The game becomes prettymuch pay to play. In fact, if u want to play 100% of competitive decks, u need to burst A LOT of money. It seems that i really going to dump the HS again. And from now on - forever.
P.S. i tried the Eternal CCG, and surpisingly i really have fun, both in PVE , Limited PVE, Draft and ranked.
Actually the midrange deck is not an archetype. Its general strategy may be an aggro or control. Its more like combo\control\aggro. Thats the 3 main archetypes.
well, now im really confused. I check the "quest analysis" thread to see few words and now "mini review" to see wall of text.
The shaman quest btw is good, but its a mirange, zoo, PW and face huntar wreck the shaman hard, i played until 15 floor and then dropped it (despite i pulled 2 shaman quests from packs, sigh )
If you are testing new deck brews, its actually a hard stress test for them in high rank, if they cant hanle the meta, then they are actually bad, and should be upgraded, trashed. If you are brewing for fun, then just play casual.
So the Un'goro hits, ive opene some packs and get 3 quests, one for priest and one 2 for shaman(insert_facepalm_jpg), i really dont want to play a murlock deck, im tired of shaman to be honest. So im wondering what to craft to play S37 ladder. I want to play cavern rogue, handlock, taunt warrior, TTK mage and maybe elemental shaman. Problem is - i have 5100 dust + maybe 3000 from dis of goldens and really bad cards. I want a control type deck, tire od any sort of aggro decks. And i want a solid choice T1-T2 deck so far, As for now im looking at Trumps Handlock i always wante to try this type of deck, jaraxus is safe staple craft from classic set, the problem is i nee 2 shamblers, and i dont know if i really need the Elize? Any advice or opinion will be highly appriciated.

Kaza is going to see no play despite some new strong meta efining cards like reno will eventually show up in next expansions. So its wild only.
