When does the Year of the Mammoth official start? I need a bit more dust to craft some more goldens, and I can't seem to find any hard dates on when the move for the cards from standard to wild is going to happen...
If you have both copies you get dust for golden only.
If you have regular now you get 1600.
If you have golden now you get 3200.
If you dust regular to craft golden you have to spend 2800 + 400 from the dusted one. So in the end you get 3200 - 2800 (your own dust spent to craft golden) 400. But you keep golden card.
Well if you craft normal and golden Ragnaros that means you wasted 4800 dust. So you will get 3200 dust for golden Ragnaros with the next expansion. If you also dust him after the expansion you will get +1600 dust. So the 4800 dust you wasted for both versions. That means you got yourself a free legendary.
We get refund only for the golden, so if you have both, for the normal one you will get 400 dust as usual . So, it is totally worth it to craft golden.
I'm not sure. I've been thinking about grinding the dust to get golden Drakes, Sylv and Rag, but honestly - I'll just wait for normal refunds and either save it up for some new expansion stuff, or craft Dr Balance and Kelthuzad :P
So if you have the dust (I sadly do not) AND you have a regular Ragnaros you can either
Keep normal Rag, do nothing: +1600 dust
Craft golden Rag, disenchant normal Rag: +400 dust
Craft golden Rag, disenchant golden Rag: +1600 dust
Man I wish I had more dust to do this :- )
If you crafted the normal Rag, and get 1600 back with the expansion it's +0 dust
I specifically said if you had the dust and a regular Ragnaros already. If you don't have ragnaros then no matter what you do it's just you can get a regular or golden for free (if you have the dust to pay the rafting cost up front to then be refunded).
It is only worth crafting the golden versions of the cards if you don't already have the card or if you were planning on getting it golden anyways and would like a discount on the upgrade.
So for example if you have regular Ragnaros you could craft golden Ragnaros now for 3200 dust which you would get back on release, but you would not get the 1600 dust you'd get from your regular Ragnaros anyways, meaning instead of gaining 1600 dust you'll get a golden Ragnaros.

What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
The announcement of the expansion or the teaser/year of the mammoth date should be told during the championship in the Bahamas. That's the earliest I could think of. Or the year would just begin after that and the exp would come out a few weeks later. On the other hand, you should craft them :D

I don't think they become disenchantable. No card in HS is or has even been. It also isn't mentioned in the official blizz post, but rather seems to be the interpretation of the person who posted the news here on Hearthpwn.
"You cannot dust these cards, but if you own them, Blizzard is going to just give you Arcane Dust. You will only get the dust for the copies you have that can be included in a deck. If you have 3 Azure Drakes, disenchant one today."
I didn't see anything regarding this on the official post form Blizzard but according to it, once the new year starts we can no longer disenchant extra copies? I don't get it.

Every classic card is none-disenchantable, and so is c'thun, old-murceye and golden geblin mecathor, so there's a few none-disenchantable cards in the game as of now.
Old Murk-Eye was not disenchantable, because it wasn't craftable. After it got rotated to wild, the quest "Mrglglglgl!" was no longer part of the game, after which the card became craftable and disenchantable. Same for Captain's Parrot.
You are right that C'thun is not craftable or disenchantable though. All classic card are craftable/disenchantable, but I think you meant the "Basic" cards, which aren't, as you earn them by leveling up the hero's. So I was indeed incorrect in my previous statement, though Brode already confirmed that the cards rotating now will stay disenchantable (i.e. HP newspage was incorrect in this case)
If I'll craft golden Ragnaros for 3200 dust, I will receive 3200 dust back. Then I'll have a free golden Rag i.e. free 1600 dust. Am I right?
I crafted 2 Azure golden...dude,this "event" has so much value :) and i am not looking foward to DE those cards...fun in wild :)

I am not going to do so, I wouldn't then get the refund on my 'normal' Sylvanas and Rags.

I dont have rag or syl.
but i have 3200 dust atm.
does it mean that i can craft them now for free? Cause i get the dust back soon...
and this would mean that EVERYBODY who has 3200 dust atm will have rag and syl in the Future.
am i right?!

Man I wish I had more dust to do this as those would be some sweet golden cards :- )
EDIT: Looks like BBrode confirmed we would be able to do this!

Should you craft/disenchant (Golden) Sylvanas or Ragnaros?
