Though I mostly agree with this, do you remember the first 2 weeks of Old Gods, when there were almost only Cthun decks? I saw people making pathetic rants in foruns too, 'how they hate stupid Cthun decks, only need to play the curve' , boring meta etc. etc....
As I had mentioned the game has become pay to win. I bought 40 packs and got only 1 legendary out of it. This is nothing but an insult. I also like HS but can no longer tolerate Blizzard.
And how many legendaries were you supossed to get? 6? 7? 10? Get over yourself. You're just a self-entitled brat who thinks the world needs to spin just for them. Honestly, the game is better without you and others who don't understand that there isn't even a meta yet and get mad at people for trying to figure out the meta. Leave bro. No one cares.
On paper this is looking to be the most balanced meta yet. You have aggro decks (like Pirate Warrior) that beat midrange decks (like Jade druid and their "OP" idols) which in turn beat slow control decks which beat the aggro decks. Also note the fact that Pirate Warrior and Jade Druid are almost 100% refined lists already. Pirate Warrior since it already existed in some capacity before with some of the new, better, cards being introduced to an already refined list and Jade Druid's list is similar to Malygos Druid (sharing a lot of the draw mechanics and stall) as well as the 9 auto-include jade cards, so that the deck pretty much built itself. Control decks on the other hand have not yet reached that point and so it is only natural that they struggle a bit in the beginning. In the end only time will tell and I would wait at least a couple of weeks before making statements like yours OP. Taking a couple weeks off is actually exactly what you should be doing. I am sure things will be much different in even so short a time.
I just move to arena, reach legend with handlock seasons ago, i quit ladder 3 months ago, now recently move to arena its tempo oriented as well but at least takes a ton of skill, improvisation and luck to doing good!
Every meta isn't broken, everything isn't "cancer". People like you just don't know how to learn and adapt yet. It's still early on and people are still experimenting, so I say you should give it some time. That said, if this is enough to make you hang it up and walk away forever, then competitive games of any kind aren't for you - and if that's the case, that's fine, just play stuff for fun.

Remember campers, you don't have to outrun the bear, just your slowest friend LOL.
If there is only one deck, or really only one style of this game you enjoy, then yeah your going to have problems. The meta (particularly right now) is always going to be influx and if you can't adapt to that because you don't enjoy playing the counter then your really missing out on what this game has to offer. If pure aggro isn't your thing, try one of the new varieties of Midrange hunter, its a bit slower, but still fast enough to beat most decks.
Bro, it's the first two days of meta. For all you know Pirate warrior's a fad and in a few weeks we'll never see it again.
This, so much this. Do people remember Old Gods release? We're going to get the same kind of shake-up in the Spring as we did in Standard, the same kind of shake-up we did after Kara, and the same kind of shake-up we're seeing after Gadgetzan with each one having a large/small impact based on the number of different cards rotating in or out.
This is a meta in the sense that this is what ladder currently looks like, but in no way should this going to reflect the end result of what people would consider the Gadgetzan meta. Remember when N'Zoth Paladin and C'thun Druid were the scourge of the ladder? How did that turn out?
I also played in those metas. AGAIN, this is not about how strong the decks are. This is about how the mechanic is BROKEN. Priest was also weak against other previous dominating classes but at least with proper order and some luck, there were games that I had won because there was a POSSIBILITY, which no longer exists in this meta. I never complained about how a type of deck might counter another one, in fact that makes sense but at the moment no current priest deck can possibly defeat jade druids unless the druid player is so newbie. I won many games with my Reno priest in this meta so it is not about just keep encountering warriors or druids. As I had mentioned the game has become pay to win. I bought 40 packs and got only 1 legendary out of it. This is nothing but an insult. I also like HS but can no longer tolerate Blizzard.
So you want to be favored against every deck all the time as priest? Because saying that priest stand no chance against jade druid is a joke.
Do you know a deck called dragon priest? Like a tempo/midrangeish deck with dragons? Yeah, that deck is awesome against Jade druid. Litterally just play your minions on curve and hold his board clean. And you win...
And getting 1 legendary in 40 packs? Well tough luck dude. I feel ya. I had 2 legendaries in 86 packs. Which was wraithion and Krul. I opened around 10 more the day after and got wrathion again, but thats just tough luck. Blaming Blizzard because you were unlucky with your packs are a childish thing to do, since someone have to be less lucky for others to be more lucky.
I feel like Blizzard actually have begun caring a lot more for their customers in recent times, than what i´m used too. As a long time wow gamer, Legion was almost everything the community wanted and their costumer support has been legendary with it. Blizzard have also tried doing this in hearthstone in the recent times, but i feel like there is too many crybabies on both sides, to make it clear what the community wants.
What a player want from a card depends largely on what type of player they are, and how much they´ve played.
I´m personally a every month legend player that plays infinite arena, ( And i´m also a huge dickhead ) And i simply adore when they intruduce hard tech cards like Jade idols. Tho its EXTREMELY strong against control, and single handely wins most games in fatigue match ups. Then its pretty meh in midrange, aggro, tempo and face matchups.
Its like an ooze/harrison/eater of secrets. Just directed against the type of deck a lot of big whiners like. Noone is outraged that when you put double ooze and harrison into your deck, then you just DESTROY pirate warrior. Because its a hated easy deck, that basicly just attacks your face every turn.
I mean, I get why it's frustrating - some people are still figuring things out. Hell, most of us are. I played against a pirate warrior who legit drew PERFECTLY... I ALMOST stabilized. He topdecked leeroy when he was 5 off lethal before my Tirion dropped and had rag light lord out... anyways, it happens. Gotta take the good with the bad. I've also dropped bran > 9/9 dopplegangster into an insta concede lol.
Gotta not get so damn salty when you lose a few games man. It's just A GAME. If it's no longer fun, maybe it's time to quit. But quitting because after two days you feel you have a better grip on the meta and back and forth than the playtesters do... chill man. It's been less than half a week... this seems like a temper tantrum.
Maybe you should play jade druid to see that it's by far not as strong as you think. It hard counters fatigue, but that's about it. Every aggro, midrange or tempo deck wipes its ass with jade. It's really hilarious how much you overreact, little fellow.
While I don't like the game's direction and can sympathize being a a 10-year Yu-Gi-Oh player and watching it go to complete Hell (I quit when they introduced Pendulums)... I don't think HS is that bad yet. The main reason is because it's still a game I enjoy, and it's a game that I don't spend money on anymore.
The devs know what they're doing and simply don't care. They've got a big enough playerbase, and enough little kids that are gonna grab mom's credit card for the new set whether the older more serious players complain or don't.

Have you played a lot of Priest vs Anyfin/Handlock/Freeze Mage? They're abysmal matchups not because they're nearly impossible to fatigue, it's because Priest as a class will always have a hard time putting someone on a short enough clock to avoid them goldfishing until they win the game. Jade Idol isn't any different, people see infinite deck size and forget that inevitability is always hard for Control centered on fatigue over applying late game pressure. Dragon Priest is in a good place right now and is one of the multiple options available that will be favorable to combat a slow Druid, so Priest isn't losing no matter how you look at Jade Idol.
Having a deck that counters one subset of the game while losing horribly to the majority of ladder decks that will pop up is not broken, and all of the decks that counter it currently (board based early game decks) are ones that Priest excels at dealing with either with Dragon or a properly teched Control deck. You and others are focusing on the biggest strength of the card in a vacuum, but the reality is that decks that do broken things when you give them as much time as they want are the ones that become niche for a reason.
I'm sorry to hear your pack opening did not go well, neither did mine... but this isn't an aspect of the game that's changed. It's not pay to win because there are plenty of inexpensive decks that are excelling right now (Pirate Warrior is not breaking banks, and it is good), it's pay to collect quickly. No one is being forced to shell out the cash for Wallet Warrior type builds to be competitive, you can either grind them out with f2p methods or prepare to hand over cash just like literally every other card game in existence.
Currently Zoo, Dragon Priest, Midrange Shaman, Midrange Hunter, and Pirate Warrior are in a good place and don't require legendaries. Control Priest is somewhat affordable it's just not necessarily great because it needs a more settled meta to be truly effective. C'thun is an affordable archetype that promotes slower play for a lot of decks. If a lack of legendaries is holding you back, you need to re-evaluate why you're losing since viable affordable decks is something this game does extremely well.

still better than shamanstone

lol Priest already complaining about not stomping everything with 90% winrate after this ludicrious buffs in this set?
Also complain on 2nd day after release....
And also just adding "this is no wining" and proceed with tears and selt is still babyrage. try to adjust your deck.
Maybe some more midrangy with some silence to increase winratio vs Warri and Idol?
Naaaa better play with 2xkurator 2x Netherspite for maximum greed and proceede to cry...4 real.
Wanna break the cancer meta of pirates and jades? Just play Freeze Mage and chill dude, thats what I'm doing and it's working wonders!
And then you have people who don't agree lmao. This game is unbalanced and broken af.
Bunch of retards at Blizzard. At least overwatch is decent, thank God.

I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
Freeze mage will solve all your issues friend. And by reading your definition of cancer, freeze ain't.

Who's the Beatdown?
Christ.
The expansion isn't two days old. If you don't like the current meta, wait twelve hours.
The cure is to not play Constructed and play Arena instead...Arena master race...More variance, better rewards, more skill.
I like how there is a sort-of triangle between the 3 popular decks
Pirate Warrior beats Jade Druid
Jade Druid beats Kabal decks
Kabal decks beats Pirate Warrior
