Ok i get the idea of Heroic Brawl and there is a need for it. But for poor people like me Heroic Brawl just did one thing...it took away my chance to have something different to do during the week.
This sucks and I think they need to change it. Why not let us spend the gold we want on it and have the rewards increase the more we spend? Make the cap 1000 gold if you want..just let me enjoy your creativity also Blizzard!
Thanks Goliarthar1 i agree there needs to be more for the people with big pockets. Im just asking give us the chance to spend less for less rewards so we can get in.
Everyone likes their free pack but nobody is entitled to one.
As a company blizzard already focuses on the casual/"poor" players (I hate the word poor but it's the opposite of big wallet right?)
nobody wants to go against someone and lose because the other person spent more money on the game. But what's the point of spending money if it doesn't get you my advantage? I work 40 hours a week or more and can't sit and grind 100g a day like sme people. But I don't complain about it. I just buy more packs to compensate.
Blizzard owes you nothing. Don't shit on something because it doesn't appeal to you. Widen your mindset and realize different things appeal to different people.
@Goliathar1, I think maybe a more accurate term is "budget" instead of "poor"; like I certainly make enough to buy packs and pay bills, but I like using my money for other things and don't mind grinding a bit to save some cash. But I get your gist, so it's really just arguing semantics.
What's amusing about this Brawl is that while being a gold-sink is certainly a byproduct, claiming absolute knowledge that was the ENTIRE reason seems preposterous if you're not a member of Team 5. They've given us warnings, they published prize structure, and they were very specific in what audience they were targeting with this and that it was not intended to permanently supplant the normal Brawl. On top of that, when is a better time to release this? Before the expansion drops we have a solved meta and excess gold, creating essentially a miniature competitive environment where almost everyone should have the cards they want or need for tier 1/2 decks; after the expansion we'll have an unsolved meta (which is definitely not bad, it would be interesting), but anyone who hadn't ponied up the money for packs would be at a severe disadvantage in regards to their collection. Blizzard would get flak for making it a cash grab "to make people buy packs to compete", with this being the more accessible of the two options.
Having rewards scale is not intuitive though I do kind of like the idea (maybe even have a tiered system where high rollers can get significantly better prizes but low rollers would pay significantly less); that being said, $10 is not a particularly high cost for a tournament entrance, and that's how this is being treated. It fits perfectly with their goal of creating a high-risk/high-reward situation, and I think even if it was in implemented as its own standalone mode as-is the pricing is something I'd certainly be content with.
The free pack thing is a non-issue, I don't think realistically it sets any f2p players back that far in progress in the grand scheme of things. I do however feel bad if a person's primary game mode was Brawl because that's what they enjoy that it's inaccessible, but in the end this is the price of having a testing ground (which is what the Brawl really is).

Remember Blizzard's goal is wipe out the gold we earn through quest so we are forced to spend real money.
The paranoia is strong with this one..
If you can afford the entrance fee then what's the problem? No one at Team 5 is forcing you to play and 'waste' your Gold/Cash are they? I won't be participating, not because I can't afford it, but because I'm not very good at HS and it would simply be an exercise in frustration for me. Just because I have the cash doesn't mean I like throwing it away. It's all down to personal choice at the end of the day you either play this week's Brawl or not. Simple. For fucks sake, it's Blizzard, not the Illuminati...
It's not paranoia, you saying that just makes you look incredibly ignorant.
Fact: There is a new Xpac releasing VERY SOON
Fact: 'Herioc Brawl' was revealed what, a month ago? Then it was delayed for non-specific reasons, in the meantime the new Xpac was announced at Blizzcon.
Fact: Companies like money.
Fact: Blizzard LOVES money, more than anything, more than the integrity of their own games/franchises/Artistic integrity (Diablo 3 Auction house)
Don't be so ignorant, the opening of this Brawl is very carefully planned with the release of a new Xpac just a few weeks away. They want you to spend your free currency, free currency makes them NO money.
My only issue with this format is the reward floor is too low. You're at a significant loss if you pay 1000g or 10$ and go 0-3 for one pack. Due to RNG and rolling potentially bad matchups, 0 wins is a very real possibility. I would have more incentive to try it out if I were guaranteed 3-4 packs minimum

I agree but it's a one week only thing, I saved my gold and will just buy packs when MSG comes out!
I have one game left for my Malygos Druid before it's over. I like the more risk more reward style of betting gold, though.
I have an idea as well!
step 1) realize not everything in this game is catered to f2p/casual players.
Step 2) realize 99% of this game is catered to the above and let us have this one mode for 4 FREAKING DAYS.
God I am so tired of these threads. No one is forcing you to play.

Heroic Brawl is fine they should not eliminate standard Brawl for the week. I like getting my free pack.

If you can't spend 1000 gold, then go play in regular mode. What exactly are you missing out on, you're going to go 0-3 anyways.
