I get it you want to make Reno decks disappear completely. I agree make it a Warrior card 3 mana 3/4 weapon and the drawback would not be you take extra damage, drawback would be you cannot gain Armor while you hold this weapon. Pirate Warrior lives matter.
Unless we get a Neutral Thekkal card i do not think we need such a thing, stopping Healing is what all aggro decks want because Heal is Cheat SMOrc.
But yeah, in order to balance an anti-lifegain card you'd need to make it close to unplayable in aggro, cause they'd abuse it and become even more strong then they are now.
So you need to have it be more of a mid to late game minion, probably with bad stats to compensate for the amazing effect. But then it'd be questionable design cause it'd be game-winning in some matchups and completely useless in others. The card might turn into another death knight scenario. "Oh, I drew this first, guess I won".
I don't think they should implement that, instead they should just avoid printing extremely polarizing lifegain cards like Kingsbane in the first place.
damage counters life gain, that's it.. gainong life generally costs you a lot of tempo, unless you are druid of course.
