defending the sentinel only shows, that you are really bad at evaluating cards, sorry.
better than sylvanas, wtf dude?
the stats on this card are bad and you will suffer a huge tempoloss when you play it. its effect can circumvented by so many options, it will only work when youre already in a winning position. and longterm it´ll only gets worse, because more and better 5-drops will be released.
I did not at any point say the card is better than Sylvanas, that would be utter nonsense. I said that the card is putting you at a very awkward position where you have to remove the minions next to him and then him, similar to the awkward positon Sylvanas puts you when your opponent drops her and you have more than enough minions to finish her off. This card does fit in control decks and combo decks which can get use of the Deathrattle quickly, I noted that it's a bad card in tempo decks that rely on the continuation of the tempo. Please read through my post properly before you call me bad at evaluating cards, thank you.
To me Sacred Trial is the trash card of the week 1 set. Won't actually see play unless you're counterbuilding against a full Imp-lock or other token decks like MustardPally.
Ancient Shade is actually good in aggro-face decks, which you didn't include in that review. Less chances that you'll draw that curse if you're ending it early anyway. And the curse lets you draw another card after giving you 7dmg so it doesn't ruin tempo very much. I ran it in my facehunter deck and saw satisfactory results. (Maybe it's just me because I actually board control until turn 4 with my face hunter)
Anubisath Sentinel will see play someday. But with the gameplay right now where it's high priority to remove things, I doubt it. Maybe with Silent Knight, who knows?
Jeweled Scarab is definitely good. With the class cards being discovered 4x more than neutral, it actually can make or break a game. Especially good in Druid, Mage, Paladin, and in some cases Priest. Also it has a Beast tag for Druid and Hunter Beast synergies.
I agree with most of these except Anubisath. You cant compare it to Dark cultist. 3 mana 3/4 is good while 4/4 for 5 mana is suicide especially if it isnt as broken as Auctioneer.
I think my biggest issue with Anubisath Sentinel is that even when it works it can open you up to some pretty huge blowouts. I'm thinking something along the lines of the issues that pop up with Avenge, where you kill one thing, the trigger goes off and buffs a minion you couldn't kill before into range of your BGH. Since the Sentinel is a high-cost investment for its stats it's pretty easy to kill it. And I feel like this particular interaction would come up pretty often. I mean sure, then they don't have BGH for something else, but that's still a huge tempo loss given the 5-cost and the BGH hit.
And this is just in the situations where it actually does get to buff something, which I don't know how often that will happen anyway.
Ever since I got Jeweled Scarab I crafted the gold versions and haven't looked back. It can give you a third Flamewaker in tempo mage or even that much needed Iceblock if the game isn't going your way. Control/Fatigue priest? No problem, take a Thoughtsteal, or one of those fancy new Valkyrie legendaries and reduce your opponent to tears with all the bling you got on the board. I really like this step by step card analysis series you got going.

Man, with the whole joke-y hattle-rattle hunter deck, maybe Anubisath could fit in that kind of deck with Feign Death. That might be kind of sick.

Nothing doing, traveler.
