You beat reno by focusing on the board, not the health total. The decks that run reno are pretty easy to recognize, they tend to not have more than 3 draw, and they can't have every efficient removal card. They're actually pretty weak overall, but not playing around them properly will get you punished.
The card is fair because the rest of his deck is significantly worse since the ability to have 2 of the same card is completely removed. And since you're playing an aggressive hunter deck, all I see here is justice. were gonna be rich.
I see a lot of people saying this and it's just not true. I'm thinking is just a common misconception on how the card functions. While Highlander decks that do in fact run only 1 copy of every card in their deck are quite popular with Reno, it's quite easy to play Reno in decks that run 2 copies of cards. Reno Jackson still works so long as there aren't any more than 1 copy of any card remaining in the deck. Just as an easy example, if you run a deck with 2 frostbolts and you've drawn at least 1 of them, Reno Jackson will still trigger. So not only can you still run him in decks with 2 copies of the same card, there's already several of them out there that are pretty successful.
Other people seem to be able to handle him, so unless everyone's game is ruined by Reno, I think it's fair.
Every time I see the opponent play one-offs, I suspect Reno. Then it becomes a game of board control instead of "ME HIT FACE". Reno's healing doesn't matter when they're already behind. When playing Reno your deck tends to go the highlander route (maybe a few duplicates, but not a lot). That itself is an additional cost to Reno, as you lose consistency.
I agree with your comment. It is well though out and I agree completely.
I just had to comment because of the "go the highlander route" part. I don't know if you thought of that yourself, or are reiterating, but either way that is gold. 10/10 I actually laughed hard enough to make my cat leave the room.

Running him with two copies of multiple cards will greatly reduce his use. In many cases, especially ones such as OP's, you'll lose the game even though you have Reno in hand because there's just one extra copy of a card in the deck.
Aggro has had its time to shine for way too long. I quit this game for over 15 seasons because of face hunters old unleash the hounds and zoo lock. Now we can finally consistently destroy aggro and actually play some mid range and control and actually play Hearthstone how it's meant to be played.

I'm not suggesting otherwise. It's just some people have this notion that you literally can't build a deck with him and have more than 1 copy of any card in your deck, which is just misinformation. There's lots of newer players or less experienced players that will read what some people post stating you can't do it and well, you can. It may be less effective depending on your deck but let's not limit people's creativity to build potentially new innovative decks due to a case of being misinformed.
For instance, I've seen freeze mages that run several 2x cards in their decks and still have success with Reno simply because they can dig through their deck quickly and effectively weed out the extra copies of their 2x cards by the time they need the heal.
Depends on the deck I suppose. Freeze mage has other survival tools other than Reno, while some other Reno decks need his effect consistently to survive aggro. Going highlander isn't a requirement, and a lot of decks can afford duplicates of a few cards (Double Molten in Reno Handlock is, I would say, necessary), but the more duplicates you have, the more you need to be sure that not immediately having a full heal available won't cost you the game (e.g. Freeze Mage).
whats funny is that you idiots think its control meta haha ... this is horrendous and boring 30 turns fatigue meta !
lets force turn 6 top decking until fatigue meta . this aint mill rogue or druid fatigue which would have it over by turn 10-12 .
lets play reno jackson when tempo has bested us and when hunters have out aggroed us or control warrior has out armored us ... its the answer salty losers have been given and its wrecking the game ...
ya ok fun card to play with drawbacks sure but viable answer to aggro meta hell no its too strong its giving a personal only tree of life to every class .. im with you needs a nerf

hey buddy sorry you lost your last face hunter game but this isnt the group therapy thread so no need to exaggerate the power of the card
I once played against a guy that managed to pull Reno out 3 times using young brewmasters and I still won with my Dragon Priest deck. I might not use Reno myself but I am very happy that I no longer see too many aggro decks going around because of Reno. So I think it does what its supposed to and I really don't mind it as much as any other big play card.
I absolutely hate this card. how can anyone say it isn't ridiculously OP. the most recent game with him involved a rogue shadow stepping him after playing to use twice in the game. Both times he used him he was below ten health. Playing control against him works some of the time but you run the risk of fatigue as the games last forever. and don't even bother playing aggro against him.
reno is strong in control decks that struggle to stay alive vs aggro. finally a good tool for control instead of even more aggresive cards, he shouldnt be nerfed, doesnt matter that he might be a bit op, so is shredder, so are a lot of sticky aggro cards, so its just fair that reno is in the game.

The card will be nerfed and rightfully so. There is no way to play around Reno and that is the problem. Unless your opponent is playing the typical scrub 30 card renolock, there is no way to now the person you're playing is running a Reno Deck. And even if you assume they are, there is no way of knowing how many copies of duplicates they're running.

"You can't play around it" is such a weird statement for a card that does nothing more than heal. It heals you for a lot, sure but it in no way wins you the game.
Aggro decks can't play "around" it because aggro chooses not to include cards that allow you to play around it, that's not the same thing. You pick cards for the deck so you choose if you are able to play around it or not. There are plenty of decks that play around Reno by including proper card draw, or board control tools, or sticky minions. So it won't be nerfed and rightfully so.
It's like saying charge cards are OP because I refuse to play taunts in my deck. Then I complain I can't play around them. Difference being that charge cards can actually kill you out of nowhere.
Well....You're playing the class Reno hard counters...So...There's that.

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
Reno is way better than molten vs aggro, and that is the matchup where reno is extremely important.

At the moment I think only Warlock can fully utilize Reno. Others are too inconsistent.
