I have been playing alot of ladder since loe came out and started playing around naxx. But it seems to me that each subsequent expansion has degraded or worsened the game with limited playstyles and an emphasis on spending real money in game. This is especially true with League of Explorers, back to playing ladder, I started at rank 15 and slowly grinder to 11 through a mix of Zoo lock and Control Warrior. Several of the games I played (especially zoo) began way too smoothly, gaining easy board control and putting my opponent <10 health; then they play a board clear and Reno. They then win the game. The perpetrators were paladin, priest, warrior and mage. The games were honestly stupid, the worst against a priest who didn't play a single card until turn 5 (thoughtsteal), light bomb on 6, then Reno on 7. The fact was that I ran out of gas but by the time I had any chance to reestablish a board he had crushed me. He played a total of only 8 cards to beat my ~15. Anyway, enough salt, I think Reno is terrible for the health of the game because it encourages uninteraction and very slow fatigue games which are mostly unfun. I think that Reno Jackson has ushered in a meta game of control, only control and now games will be warped to play much slower and play into their hands (control). I propose that Reno only restores up to 20 health and becomes yeti sized (4/5).
"it encourages uninteraction and very slow fatigue games which are mostly unfun."
It encourages interactions. Going face and running out of steam is 1* not interactive 2* stupid, you overextend and lose to ONE board clear? xD
slow fatigue games mostly unfun? Thats a matter of opinion, I like those way more than "let's see if y top 8 draws carry me or not".
Reno is fine, requires either sacrifices in your deck, or use the various draw engines to get at least 1 copy of every 2ofs that you play.
The card promotes interaction(=control the board which means TRADING, not smorc), it helps diversify decks by the card choices people made, in order to make Reno useful, so cards that would not see plays do. Isn't better than a meta with 6 total decks, all the same, 5 being stupid face/super aggro deck? It clearly is better. And longer game force you to actually do less missplays, because you need to save your removals for real target. no more "silence sludge cause smorc, quickshot 1/2 taunt cause smorc". Gotta learn to play, I know lots of people hate to have to learn anything and rather be face monkeys.
But after a year and a half (since nax) of aggro meta all day long, it is time for a real change. And not a change of dominating aggro deck, a real change of meta. Suck it up like we, control lovers, had to.
So you are saying you want to be able to play non interactively with zoo and win at turn 5 and now you cry because you can't do that anymore?
Reno is the best thing happened to this game. Makes you actually having to think and create decks where you need to be prepared to go a couple of more turns than just 5.
I dont agree with that at all. Sure the games have slowed down. But it encourages interaction, much more so than the previous all face meta. You have to play smarter and not just play every card you can, play around cards. Besides Reno comes with a serious draw back. I hope that this makes the meta shift around, and maybe diversify.
I will admit, you all make good points (and it's better than facing Huntards that ONLY know face) but I just pray that it isn't all control v. control.
Ok, I tried Reno in my Paladin deck. Went from level 15 to 10 very quickly, saw ONE other Reno during that time. Grinded around at level 10-11 yesterday and didn't see a single Reno being played. So, last two days: Dr Boom - Reno 25 - 1 from what I have seen being played. Nerf Reno...yeah...
Haven't lost a single game to Aggro/facehunters with Reno. First time ever I'm able to win against control Warrior. Playing a deck with no duplicates is more fun than ever cause every game creates new situations.
Even if there's a need to nerf this card (i think there's not)... there was no emergency nerf to cards that actually really required it... like undertaker. There's not going to be one for this card either. That's not to mention that the possitive comments about this card are soooo many that it would start a anti-hs-devs revolution if they nerfed it now.
I'd say... Wait for things to settle down a bit, this is Reno's first week... people are excited to test the card etc etc. You're likely to see less of Reno (how much less? I dont know) in a month.
Yeah guys play Reno with board wipes so I can finally beat you all as Tank Warrior with my 10 legendaries muhahaha. Hunters and other pleb decks have to rip for this!
I am not sure yet, but it seems to me that Reno Jackson is okayish. As eliasfh already mentioned, he only works when your deck fulfills some particular conditions. And you have to draw him as well.
Until now, I did not meet too many Reno decks and I only played a couple of games with my Reno midrange-hunter (which works okay as a "one of"-deck, since for doubles the deck has too little (precisely none) real card draw). I didn't actually track my games, but it seems I only draw Reno in every third or fourth game (La game lasting about 8-12 rounds on average). Of course, control decks have much more card draw options, but they usually also need to include doubles (e.g. a control warrior without two Shield Slam and Execute seems a lot weaker to me). So they do not only need to draw Reno, but also at least one of every doubles in their deck.
At present I guess he will see competetive play, but the decks which include reno are either less reliable or only better equipped for a control-control fatigue war. As in the case of the OP, the priest had to draw into a board clear and into Reno. And that by turn 6, otherwise he would likely have lost the game. And If you can beat your opponent by turn 8, I think as an aggro deck you will still have a decent win rate in the future (despite Reno).
And on ladder, I could still rank up with midrange- and facehunter and did not Encounter a single reno (specking of the day before yesterday).
I honestly think Reno is fine. I went from rank 7 to 2 in a couple days playing secret pally while only losing like 3-4 games. Out of the loses only 1 was to Reno, the other Reno decks still got destroyed even after fully healing. Everyone is praising the deck but i really think it's false hope and posting to the forums when you actually win with it.
Dear God, another thread about nerfing Reno? Get a grip.
Agree with most people here, Reno is very exciting for the direction of the game, and I'm really enjoying the diversity he promotes - being able to play against and play experimental decks with more hope that I won't get my ass handed to me.
I've tried him with most classes, and I have high hopes for my rogue and shaman control decks once all the new cards are out, plus I'm really enjoying taunt warrior at the moment (running 3 duplicates - execute, fiery war axe and death's bite).
Please stop overreacting and at least wait for the whole expansion to be released and the dust to settle. Who knows, Shaman murloc decks might be the new face hunters in a month's time ;)

You... haven't won against CW... with paladin...? I'll assume you are talking about a meaningful sample.
That tells me (conclusively) that don't know how to play very well and that your rankings are mostly down to to lucky streaks, either that you are simply sitting there and making stuff up.
Neither of which puts you or your points in a good light.

Thank you,
A concerned Hearthstone citizen.
of course rushing someone face in 5 turns is legit, full healing is not. This post is just hilarious...
Zoo isn't rush, it's tempo/aggro, but if your opponent is playing like they are AFK, you go face.
Reno is perfectly balanced for what he does.

Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
All I'm saying is that Reno encourages slow and uninteractive games.
Hilarious indeed.

so your saying that Reno jackson should be nerfed?
95% of all matches in ladder depends on who gets the best starts becuz 90% of players plays aggro..tell me how fun that is..
now people have to use thier brains alittlebit.
One more thing.......DeezNuuthz!! Gothim

I'll put reno in every deck even if condition is not met :D Reno is awesome. Sweet SMOrc tears makes my heart fly.

Another rank10+ player who complains about "ZOMFG P2W". Nothing to see here.
