I like mine better (mby i could make it 3 mana after seeing this card :D)
but close enough blizz, close enough :D I will definitely have fun with this in constructed, but i dont think im gona be that hot for it in arena, givin your opponent cards is never a good thing, even if ur the one whose gona be able to play the random card first (or at least u should).
I would prefer this over this rng crap anyday. It is interesting and not overpowered.

Now that's a card I'd be hyped to see. But no, all we get is mediocre RNG junk.
Thanks guys :) glad u like it, mby we will get something like this eventually, when blizz realizes, that "more RNG != more fun" :)
Sigh...this is why Mage will never see top tier and it makes me sad because it's my favourite class too. This kind of RNG bullshit makes their decks too inconsistent thus unreliable. Just look at FlameWaker and Unstable Portal.
Nice troll 8/10
Ain't even playing fam. This card clearly will never be played in Freezing which is the only competative Mage deck right now. So it's more likely it would be played in Tempo of some sort so look at any tier list and any competative events and see how many people bring Tempo Mage, VERY LITTLE TO NONE.
No one is forcing you to run the heavy RNG cards. You really don't need Unstable Portal or Effigy or Spellslinger, they're just cards you run on the off chance you get a game-breaking card that wins the match for you. Mage is in a pretty good spot objectively, it's just doing poorly because it has trouble with Warrior, a class that has become very popular as of late.
As for the "fam" thing, no. Don't do that. Just don't.
Feel free to show me a decent/top tier mage deck that doesn't have heavy RNG cards fam. The same could be said for your opponent, THEY can get the game-breaking card, do you really want to throw your match because of a card that YOU played? Grim Patron Warrior isn't going anywhere and not even guaranteed it will die out when TGT is released. So going by what you said, unless TGT releases some OP, high synergy, more consistent mage cards THEN they will see real top tier again if not, it will stay in this position for a LONG time.

Eras Control Mage has is a very strong deck imo... Well, there is Rag, Sylvanas and Mad Scientist as rng cards, but they get used in many decks...
I didn't know Tier Two means Tier One, hmm, interesting. Anywho, I saw this weeks Snapshot already and new decks that show up on the list randomly tend to have their ranks fluctuate very easily within the next 1-3 weeks.
I've written before how much I hate this card, not because its too bad or too good (though it might be both), but another reason besides the RNG sprang to mind the other day: this card should be a 2/4 like Grove Tender since both give a symmetrical effect

And then you just get Resurrect, Reincarnate, or plain old Blessing of Kings and surprise your opponent. With this, people will have to expect EVERYTHING at least once. Still I think flinging magic like this is too dangerous. Let's say a paladin surprises you with Polymorph, or worse, Bloodlust.
Just played in the new Tavern Brawl as Medvih and I already hate this card. People will realize that this is like Russian Roulette because you offer your opponent the chance to get a spell type (aoe, direct damage, hard removal) not intended for his class: I had two Frost Giants and some other minions out and my opponent Hunter nothing on the board. Fair deal I thought, Hunter has no means to get out of this situation. Well, my Spellslinger had obviously given him Lightbomb. People will play around with this card and drop it after they got Flamestriked by Aggro/face decks the first time...
agreed. i just won my brawl because it gave me shadowform turn 3..... my opponent was not happy about my free upgrade..... he was less happy when it fires for 3 dmg a turn and can be use twice in a row.

overall, you have a pretty good chance of getting something good......
Nice job! But you missed something: if you get some card 'for free' - I mean extra-card, not from your deck (like from Thoughts steal or Nefarian battlecry) - it's almost always value, even if it can seems 'meh'. Yes, most of that cards you put in that category - are bad and never take place in any ladder deck, but if you get it like 'for free' it's even Recycle and Dark whisper can be not so bad. Only really bad - something like Totemic might, Deadly poison etc (that mage can't use at all)
You get a "free" almost always good card, but so does your opponent, and even if you build your deck around spell synergy, chances are still high your opponent will end up with the advantage...

Not really. Cards and card draw are not worth the same thing in every deck. For example, card draw in a typical Shaman deck is worth much more than card draw in, say, Druid. How much more? 1 mana? .5 mana? Hard to say exactly, but it's obviously worth more.
If you play tempo mage, and replace Arcane Intellect with this, card draw will probably be worth like 2 mana (since your cards are mostly low cost and you have very little card draw). For most other decks card draw is worth between 1-1.5 mana. So just on card draw alone you're gaining at least .5 mana on average. Then add spell synergy, that's probably another .5 (obviously there are also other decks which have heavy spell synergy, like Oil Rogue, where this may even be a negative effect, but on average probably .5 benefit for tempo mage). I'd be very surprised if this card didn't replace AI in tempo decks.
I don't really like this card, but I acknowledge that it can be very strong. The body stats are fantastic. The effect is very RNG dependent. In the Brawl, I have profited and been screwed by it. It seems to me that it is a better card for a tempo or aggro deck than for a slower deck, as the RNG doesn't really matter for a deck that already depends on RNG effects like Flamewaker, but can greatly disturb a more orchestrated deck.

i should update the list a bit as well, echo for free isnt bad.... its just better for some decks than others, same with moonfire, getting it for tempo mage and maly mage isnt bad, but the problem i have with recycle is just well, it doesnt really kill the creature and not a whole lot of deck can spent 6 mana to shuffle a creature back.... as for dark wisper, again, its just the mana cost + value, sure putting an army of 1/1 might not seem like a bad idea or give your spellslinger taunt..... but overall, its a bit pricey.... the reason i made the meh category is that they are not the worse case scenario.... but stuff like totemic might is just bad, deadly poison is useable in some face mage deck since it runs blingtron 3000........ overall i should redo my meh list....

Mechanical yeti got cut from mechmage because of the mirror effect, and it was never really a part of tempomage, despite the spell synergy. Coldlight Oracle is only used in mill decks, even though a lot of aggro highly benefit of card draw.
The potential disasters of a random spell is much bigger than for a spare part, and mirroreffect cards are generally avoided. Sure, it will be tried, but I fear that all the bad beats with face hunters with fireballs, zoo with echo of medivh and the likes will quickly push this out of the meta.

Mech Yeti wasn't cut for the mirror effect, but simply because it was directly competing with Piloted Shredder (same reason classic Yeti is no longer in the meta); if Shredder didn't exist, Yeti would be a 2-of in every mech deck. The key here is that tempo mage doesn't actually have a stand-alone 3-drop (Flamewaker is best reserved for combos and Kirin Tor Mage is also a combo card), so Spellslinger isn't competing with anything, let alone anything as strong as Shredder.
Coldlight Oracle is a 1 mana creature for 3 mana....meaning every card you draw has to be worth at least 1 mana more than your opponent's card draw on average just to break even. Even in the most draw-starved decks that's no mean feat. Coldlight was actually run for a long time in Freeze Mage, because cycling for combos was just that valuable, it was also often used in Miracle Rogue and a few other competitive decks. But you can't really compare Spellslinger to Coldlight or even Grove Tender because a 3/4 for 3 is actually respectable and doesn't lose board leverage. Yes, there will be disasters, but it's the averages we're concerned with. On average, the RNG should work in tempo mage's favour, as they have more spell synergy than almost any other deck, and slower decks will want to play their more expensive minions on curve, so the spell will likely rot in their hand for several turns and may never even be played.
I would prefer this over this rng crap anyday. It is interesting and not overpowered.

Trolden approves (for obvious reasons)
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
How good would Tinkmaster Overspark be if he was a 3/4?
Pretty much equivalently game swinging as this card?
This card is a common...
Any opinions?

i should update the list a bit as well, echo for free isnt bad.... its just better for some decks than others, same with moonfire, getting it for tempo mage and maly mage isnt bad, but the problem i have with recycle is just well, it doesnt really kill the creature and not a whole lot of deck can spent 6 mana to shuffle a creature back.... as for dark wisper, again, its just the mana cost + value, sure putting an army of 1/1 might not seem like a bad idea or give your spellslinger taunt..... but overall, its a bit pricey.... the reason i made the meh category is that they are not the worse case scenario.... but stuff like totemic might is just bad, deadly poison is useable in some face mage deck since it runs blingtron 3000........ overall i should redo my meh list....
