The wording being changed on Objection! to "Secret: AFTER your opponent plays a Minion, Counter it." would solve a ton of issues I have with that card. It's the exact same issue with Counterspell's wording and the interaction with Flare, although Counterspell has been that way so long that it'd be disruptive to change it now.
I don't understand the argument here for Objection, or Counterspell for that matter. If either was changed to happen after the minion is played, or after the spell for Counterspell, they would effectively do nothing. In fact, Counterspell would LITERALLY do nothing if it triggers after a spell is played.
In the modern game of Hearthstone, stats on board are almost meaningless as more and more minions are printed with super powerful effects. For an example, let's say you are playing Reno Warrior with Brann in the deck. If you play Deepminer Brann, the effect goes off, and after the battlecry triggered the opponent's Objection triggered and removed the 2/4 body from the board, do you care? Probably not, because you now have the permanent double battlecry throughout the game like you wanted. So what the hell is the point of Objection if it worked that way?
Whether or not the card's design is good or bad for the game is one thing. But the order of operations is definitely not thoughtless in design.

as the title says its about interaction of the secrets counter, its not only about objection! But you show the other view, they wanted to implement a counter to battlecries? sure but then the eater should not be a battlecry.
Maybe just add text to Eater of Secrets - "immune to secrets" or "Secrets can't activate when this enters the board". In all honesty I would not run Eater of Secrets cause secrets aint really a problem right now.... I do remember that terrible time secret paladin was a thing - hope we never go back there.

Well that would mean that any battlecry effect would still trigger, which kind of kills the purpose of the card.
You could assume it would have priority over the secret. Sadly it doesn't work. It works like every other minion that is played. The Battlecry never goes off to destroy it because the secret trigger wins priority. I personally would allow this card and flare to have "doesn't trigger secrets" when its played. Thats me personally. I do enjoy true removal.

If you read my post, the interaction is not confusing at all. And I doubt they will change anything just to accomodate secret tech. They haven’t altered Flare/Counterspell, so I doubt they’ll alter this.
Also, your suggestion of it not being a battlecry would still not work. The reason why it wouldn’t work is because the secret still triggers before the minion truly comes into play. To achieve what you want the secret would still have to be changed to “After” instead of “When”, which still makes the secret useless.
If you don’t believe me, try playing Tight-Lipped Witness into an Objection and see if a non-battlecry effect to negate the secret works. (Spoiler: it won’t.)
While I know a lot of people don’t like Objection (myself included) this essentially gives Mage the same annoying counter abilities as Blue mana users in MtG. And what’s worse in MtG is the Blue mana user gets to choose when to counter a creature. At least in HS we have the option to play around it if you know it’s coming. And as someone who plays mostly Wild, I have to deal with it forever! So maybe it’ll get a change someday, most likely not. But the most realistic change they could make would be to make it read “When your opponent plays a minion, Silence it.” Eater and other minions like Witness still won’t stop it from going off, but if they ever change it that’s probably the best we’ll get. The changes you are seemingly suggesting just won’t ever happen because they either don’t work like you think or they kill the secret entirely.
Isn't that wrong? The only counter to secrets gets countered by a secret. Another example of thoughless gamedesign.
Eater of Secrets is difficult enough to have that card in hand to blow up the secret xmas tree

The way Objection! works is consistent whether against Eater of Secrets or not; same as how Counterspell works against any spell including Flare.
You just have to have a trash minion in hand to give the secret less value.
Developers' inability to balance is one thing; players choosing to abuse it is another.
