I was playing the brawl and had and opponent use Death Growl to copy Deathbringer Saurfang's deathrattle into The Primus and I'm not sure what exactly the "this" part of his deathrattle means in this case. After both died, did they get 2 copies of Saurfang or a copy of each minion? HSreplay is not showing the minions they got on the match replay.
If it works like Rattlegore then they will have recieved Deathbringer Saurfang. Rattlegore 's deathrattle always summons a rattlegor regardless as to which minion it is on. The size of the summoned minion is contained within the deathrattle. The current stats of the minion have no bearing on the size of the minion summoned. So arguably, the text is completely wrong.
That being the case, I would assume behind the scenes the deathrattle actually says "Add a copy of Deathbringer Saurfang to your hand. It costs health intead of mana".
Who know's though. This is blizz we're talking about here.
OK, thanks for the answers! I guess it was like I feared during the game then. I figured they got an extra copy of The Primus and that was pretty much checkmate. I could not longer use Reverberations to make a copy of one of their big minions until I got them at 8 or less health, otherwise they would just play The Primus and get a ton of health. In the end I died with Ice Block up from drawing the plagues shuffled into my deck.

I tested Boneshredder with Deathbringer Saurfang what happaned was, the battlecry gave a Deathbringer Saurfang but Boneshredder deathrattle gave a Boneshredder .
It gives the minion you copied it to when you use the 1 mana spell. Did this a lot already
