If anyone is looking for a good counter, Trump's handlock is pretty good. People running Dog's list can only generate so much value, and the only late game value they have is Moroes so I tech in a Twisting Nether or Felfire to clear the board instead of Hellfire. I also teched in Golakka Crawlers for anti-pirate in place of Ancient Watchers. In general I think Ancient Watchers is a poor choice and that Second Rate Bruiser is much better if you're looking for taunt instead of Pirate tech.
Druid? Seriously? They are hopeless against Caverns. Dropping a 3/6+2/2 or a 6/7 on turn six, when your opponent has a wall of 5/5 chargers? Good luck with that.
I think Druid illustrates exactly why Caverns is broken. The rogue quest can be completed AND CAST as early as turn three with coin. It's not uncommon to pull it off by turn five, and essentially assured by turn seven. It immediately buffs your board, your hand, and your entire deck, while enabling all sorts of charge combos.
In contrast, the Druid quest is nigh impossible to complete before turn 6, and more commonly around turn 8 or worse. Then you have a mediocre turn where all you get is a fatty that most people clear easily. Then you pray for draw, which may or may not come. Why does the Druid quest finish so much later AND have so much slower impact?
I'm fearing the way the meta will develop now. What deck counters quest rogue? Pirate warrior (or egg druid). I'm fearing the countermeta will be face, and that'll turn into the eventual meta.
The issue isn't this deck's win rate. It's that when you lose it feels incredibly unfair.
It's both.
We need win rates to know for sure, but based on mixed stories here and my experience playing it, it's win rate isn't insane. Most times I was going off on turn 7 and already in deep trouble.
Quest Rogue is probably the easiest deck to play against for an aggro player, most notably Pirate Warrior. They have no taunts, no heal, no effective board clears, and play mostly trash minions until turn 5 .... Basically Pirate Warrior wet dream.
What sucks is half the meta right now is Rogue(im guilty, i crafted it day 1). I like to play different decks, but i HAVE to play something that can beat rogue or i will stay at rank 15 all month. (aggro Hunter is fun, but damn....freaking aggro)
Looks like another aggro meta until things calm down
Without a doubt this quest requires a serious nerf.
3 games in a row against rogue. turn 6 max quest is done and how can you deal with 5/5 for 1 mana?
Cmn we all know its op and unfair. Like what the actual hell?
Its the most cancer ive literally ever seen... Most of the time you stood greater chances against pirate warrior.
This is just insanse and ridiculous.
Another archetype which makes meta aggresive as there is no other way to beat this crap other than strict face dmg.
I know its just the beggining of ungoro but i tried paladin and druid. Both failed against everything that is played right now. I aint gonna play broken retartded face decks only to beat rogues which are like 30% of the games i play.
Quit belly aching. The quest is powerful, but it's also easy to beat if the card draw is bad. I know first hand because I've been playing that deck and have had the luxury of pounding someone in the face for 18 damage in one turn and have had the misfortune of getting spanked due to bad card draw.
My point is that this deck is powerful as you stated, but it's not perfect. I've been beat plenty by other decks so I wouldn't agree that something needs to be done about it.
When this deck succeeds it really succeeds like miracle rogue...when it doesn't succeed...it's quite painful.
I honestly think the deck will see a nerf or change in some way at some point. Things that are this fast, consistent and uninteractive have been nerfed historically. Patron, miracle and even freeze mage had ice lance moved to wild. Patches could be changed so that he can't attack heroes the turn he's summoned. Same with deckhand. The quest could only affect minions you play from hand or require 5/6 of the same card instead of 4. There are plenty of fair changes, so i find it hard to believe that the deck will stay in this state for too long.

The meta is too early to tell
Everysince I was little I dream of becoming Kripp and get all salty, if you can't accept that then you should check your Kripp privilege

Fuck cubelock
well thanks op now you gave me a massive craving for Potato chips to go with all your salt.
This is making me scared, but every rogue I faced failed miserably to do anyhing, so IDK
Quest Rogue beats control, aggro beats quest Rogue, control beats aggro. Theoretically it will work out.
The issue isn't this deck's win rate. It's that when you lose it feels incredibly unfair.
Keep Calm and RAG FACE
I wonder how many in this thread are smorcing with Hunter...
Hard to complain about sh*t until the meta settles down and the big boys figure out what's good.
