this guy wont see play if any, 9 mana is indeed slow, most don't play many 9 drops. Slogoth, Yesera are prob the most common still played. If it read +3 health for each elemental you played this game (maybe playable), the giant's discount - (mountain giant, sea giant ect) but elemental played. how many play hard removal in the current vs big minions.
so you strategically play a specific kind of deck for...a worse Soggoth. Soggoth is already considered unplayable, and while I think he has his niche the meta has effectively pushed him out. Soggoth has the big benefit of being immune to targeted removal, a big minions worst enemy. This does not. This can, potentially, have more health that Soggoth can. Unfortunately, that health is useless in control battles because it will just be removed with single target removal. In aggro battles, it's turn 9. If it is turn 9, you have either won the game or you're not playing against aggro.
A lot of people making valid points saying this card is terrible.
Sure, with Hexes and Mulches from control/jade/midrange decks and turn 5 lethals from pirate decks, this card is unplayable. But here's the thing tho, we're talking about the current meta.
In the Un'goro meta, honestly, I think this card will be excellent.
A 2 proc Ozruk (which is just Fire Fly + the generated Flame Elemental the turn before) gives you 3 safe turns from Nether Portal, 5 dead Carnassa's Brood raptors from Queen Carnassa or a board full of dead murlocs from Megafin, in the stages of the game where they've exhausted their hard removal (on uncomfortable cards like Tol'vir Stoneshaper) and are banking on their quests to end the game.
If the meta changes like it's looking to, I think Ozruk will be an auto-add in every elemental deck there is.
No. Never. Soggoth is obviously better as he doesn't instantly die to hex and all the other hard removal right now, and yet he doesn't even see play due to the huge amount of Devolves and Twisting Nethers out there in addition to the hard removal.

But in some cases a 5/20 could be way better than a 5/9 even with its effect, a lot of decks dont have too much hard removal and i could imagine this being quite a pain for some other midrange decks maybe.
That may seem unrealistic but with fire fly and igneous elemental i can see this being a thing (maybe even bait out removal first against some decks).
I'm planning an elemental control pally with him. After my opponent has to deal with up to 5 Lightlords, plus tirion, I think he maybe just might be out of removal. And then the fireflies begin! It's gonna be terrible and only work like 5% of the time, but when it does, man, will it be a sight to behold, and they can break themselves upon his body for the rest of the game

All good decks run at least 1 copy of hard removal, whether it is Execute, Hex, Sap, Polymorph, Naturalize (Because Mulch is gone), etc. If the deck doesn't run hard removal and is still good, then its as fast as pirate warrior and Ozruk will be completely dead in your hand.
Not to mention the fact that Ozruk is counterintuitive to elemntals as a whole. You cannot generate enough fireflys to make him good, while also keeping your other elementals functional. And if you shouldn't expect to trigger him from anything other than fireflies, considering how high costed most of the elementals are in Ungoro.
I think Ozruk is going to be a meme card when you see him get played that one out of 40 games when your opponent gets him to 5/25 and you have to just concede at his might because you used all of your removal and have 3 cards left. If the meta stays fast you will just lose turn 5 after playing a couple elementals. Basically he will be funny in control vs control and weak in control vs aggro.

Thats the thing, a lot of decks have only space for low amounts of removal (2 most of the time) and with some really good elementals out there i could see baiting out the opponents removals before playing ozruk, but then again a lot of cards feel weak if your opponent has removal in hand.
I can see him being useful as a finisher in a joke deck, if you use Crazed Alchemist. As far as stats on the board go, there's a reason Bog Creeper and Soggoth rarely see play (and they don't even require set up from the previous turn).

Thats an interesting idea, im sure the lightlords and tirion will turn out to be annoying enough to use removal for :PP
Just wondering how will you end up with potentially 5 lightlords ? i only know about servant of kalimos, am i missing something ? Anyways lets just hope he will end up meta so people can feel the strengh of his body
maybe not in shamman and priest but will probably make it into a lot of mage builds Flame Geyser and Steam Surger alone make mage the class that can generate the most Flame Elemental tokens, Pyros also helps in having elemental sinergy at all times and since non tri-class discover effects only discover class cards and neutrals, Servant of Kalimos can help you discover even more Steam Surger, maybe add an igneous elemental and you'll get a really big ozruk,
Do you want to play a 9 mana 5/5 taunt? Definitely not. Shaman plays 0-2 mana 5/5 taunt these days...
Do you want to play a 9 mana 5/10 taunt? Not really. We got a 9 mana 5/9 taunt that cannot be target by spell and it doesn't see play.
Do you want to play a 9 mana 5/15 taunt? Maybe? We have several 9 mana 4/12 dragons that basically has taunt because if you don't kill it, you lose that game.
Do you want to play a 9 mana 5/20 taunt? I guess...yeah.
So, yeah, you need play at least 3-4 Elemental last turn for this card to be worth it.
I got a golden Ozruk. I am thinking of dusting it and getting Lord Jaraxxus or any other legendary as I was always unlucky when I tried to use Ozruk. And ideas?

Really not feeling the big Elemental love here.
This is clearly what ragnaros was holding them back from designing. Kudos to team 5!

Meta changes the moment you switch your deck.
It's like a more situational Ancient of War that costs two more mana.
You are not prepared!

just play it, hope ir survives, flip its health with crazed alchemist and gg
