Hmm, the card is good, some of the new class cards have been just awful. I think the new cards should help with the main problems of each class, druid is a great example of that. This perpetuates the aggro meta even more, I'm really not looking forward to playing against this at all. The card is a noob/kid magnet so I expect mage to be overplayed when Naxx comes out and I will be playing hunter with 2 flares to compensate.
Ppl seem to overrate this card. Its one of these good on paper but not that great on the field cards.
If you just look at the effect it seems to be great but if you consider the amount of "great" secrets which nobody is playing anyways and some other factors, this card wont seem as strong. One of the biggest mage issues is (besides the turn 5 no class card play) the lack of good aoe in the early and mid game. So if you lose the early game it is very hard to recover. Until you reach turn 7 it could be too late. So playing a secret on turn 3 without the Kirin Tor Mage could be pretty bad.
So this card should boost aggro play as double Leper Gnomes are pretty nice actually but there already is a decent aggro deck, so why do we get this card? Help us out in Arena? B**** please...
All the mages hoped to finally get a solution to the many problems this class has but sadly we just did get help for Arena (which isnt needed obviously) and the (seemingly) only real viable deck (aggro).
Many ppl will try to build a new secret deck in the beginning I guess and some will get some deathrattle stuff going. We will see but I would have loved to see a solid 5mana mage card for example instead of another high cost secret
The cards are still going to cost you to play, and you already have them in your deck, so its really just like extra card draw, which means I can take out my novice engineers

Sort of - Novice Engineers can get you to decent cards if you don't have any yet. Duplicate still requires that you have a card in play first.

Novice Engineer allows you to cycle through your deck. If you need to get to a Flamestrike quicker, Novice Engineer can help you. Duplicate won't help you draw a Flamestrike at all.
As has been mentioned earlier in this thread. Kirin is just one card, you can't count on drawing it (or count on it being the first minion killed on your opponent's turn), and anything that would make a Kirin into a taunter requires you to put a second minion on the field.
And as for aggro - 3-mana for no immediate effect is just a bit of a tempo loss.

My mistake, i mean zoo mage. If you play, for example, Kirin at 2 turn there is no away he is gona ignore and if he does, is 4 damage he takes for turn. You combind this with Mirror Entity at turn 3 or 4, depend if you start 2 and you will copy anycard he plays and now you say that Mirror can be counter for a 1 card play. Yes you are rigth, but that will delay is turn because with 4 mana will be a pain in the ass to deal with it and you just need to delay until level 7 when you get your flamestrike soo, you got a perfect counter for aggro deck's rigth were.
Even against big deck's who dont have any plays between level 1 and level 4 it make it even stronger.
So it's broken if you go second, draw the Ki-Rin in your opening hand, and draw Duplicate in your opening hand.
Yes. I agree. Perfect draws are overpowered relative to imperfect draws.
Even if you do so, a 3 hp minion is not that hard to remove. I still like Mana Wyrm + coin + mirror image better on turn 1 :)
I dont want to copy a Kirin Tor mage anyway! I wont to yeti on turn 4 and copy it! Ok a yeti is hard to get in a mage deck due to the many 4-drops you already have but still it would be nice.
This secret can be nice but Im rather disappointed tbh
This will get people to try Kirin Tor Mage. New cards making older cards playable, or atleast having people try old cards out, that is what good expansions do.
Nah i will use it with Sunfury+Moltens in Mage deck.
With Ice Block you can easily wait until the Moltens cost nothing.Put two up and taunt them for 2 cost.If you suspect opponent has magic lethal then you still have 8 mana left on turn 10 to heal up with perhaps Earthens. You could even Duplicate 1 Earthen and 1 Molten. Then if opponent can get them killed you have 4 more Moltens to play for 0,taunt them up and not likely your opponent can answer 4 more taunted Moltens.
That is correct, liljc.
That's correct. You get two of the minion that was just killed into your hand.
Taunt

Agree with the leaper combo and also the Harvest Golem, not to mention the legendaries!!
You can also Sacrifice leeroy and get two more leeroy? WTF

Poetic.
and it makes Bloodmage Thalnos OP
Bloodmage thalnos, miracle rogue (puke)
I'm pretty sure that's not an issue for Duplicate - which is going to be a Mage card.

Duplicate worked great in a Secret Mage deck so far:
Got more use for it in the signature video below:
