I'm surprised shamans haven't been playing around more with this spell. In sounds solid in practice, an X damage removal spell that summons Y body for 2 mana, X being the minions damage, and Y being the minion. If it works like paladin's redemption, it won't trigger battlecries again, but minions with card text will get it all back (taunt, divine shield, etc) even if the minion was silenced at the time of death, making it a interesting way to circumvent silence (or possibly reuse charge minions for multiple attacks in a turn?). A preempted Ancestral Spirit might force your opponent's hand in silencing the minion so he says dead, leaving one less silence for bigger threats. The only thing I'm not sure about is since it appears as a "deathrattle" under minions it's cast on, does it overwrite other deathrattles? If the answer is no, then that might be solid for minions with strong deathrattles like Slyvanas or Cairne as well.
Hmm, I guess I wasn't all that specific, but yeah, if you just throw it willy nilly on the first guy you don't want to die, he will very likely get silenced, but if you use it on your turn, they really can't counter with silence. Unlike Redemption which spawns the minion at 1 HP, Ancestral Spirit respawns a minion stock, with base damage AND base health. So you can use it on a battered minion that would die anyhow, trade into something, and have the minion back fighting fit.
Yeah, the card definitely hits its stride in the mid/late game, but definitely has some uses earlygame, on a spirit wolf or Sen'jin to maintain early taunts, on a Harvest Golem so it dies, makes a 2/1, and comes back ready to make another 2/1 when it dies. Or on a Lorewalker Cho to really troll your opponent, especially behind a taunt blanket :P
/edit : my formation looks so ugly, anyone hints ?
Just stop hitting the enter key after every sentence or use "SHIFT" with it. The Forums use a wysiwyg-editor, and since Enter finishes a whole pararaph, it looks so "ugly".

The minion will keep its original "deathrattle" ability. The secondary "deathrattle" from AS will be listed under the minion's buffs.
Yeah, I figured out minions can have multiple deathrattles, but if the minion dies will he trigger both deathrattles? I'm inclined to say yes because Soul of the Forest works like that, but Soul of the Forest is entirely different from Ancestral Spirit, and I've read on other forums that it seems to be (potentially?) buggy with summon X/X minion token deathrattles. If the reaction with token deathrattles is intentional, then that's a shame, because this + Cairne could reap some serious value.
They silenced your flametongue? Give it ancestral spirit and rockbiter, you kill a minion with 3 health and get your flametongue back!
exactly, and although that sounds like a 3 for 1, which would be terrible, it's really only a 2 for one when you think about it. sure you used three cards to kill something (Flametongue, Ancestral Spirit, Rockbiter), but one of those cards (Ancestral Spirit) refunded you one of your other cards (flametongue, a silence free one at that!)
Another humorous example is watching Al'Akir kill 4 low health creatures on turn 10. Actually, with some semblance of board presence or attack modifiers, Al'akir+ Ancestral is insane...

I tested it with a Harvest Golem. After dying, it summoned a 2/1 Damage Golem, then came back from Ancestral Spirit.

Fantastic! So you can put it on a golem or Cairne, sack them, get the token, and get them back with their own deathrattle intact. I can see that kind of play putting real pressure on your opponent to clean it all up.
Ancestral Spirit is like a very bad Cult Master as it does not replace itself. The trade-off is that you get your big threat back on the board without any downside like the Paladin revival secret (bringing its health to 1).
Unfortunately the card must be played properly like Rogue's Cold Blood; on your turn to make the most use of it. If you don't, it will most likely get silenced or bypassed in some way.
A minion will respawn with base health, base attack, and all the card text it had previously, with no buffs/alterations to anything, almost like you just played it from your hand (minus battlecries of course). That being said, Argent Commander Windfury Ancestral is still a decent last ditch effort combo to remove multiple minions at once.
Now, I'm not sure if a minion without charge could attack again the turn he respawns if you give him windfury. For example, say you give a Chillwind Yeti Ancestral. He runs into something that looked at him funny and dies. He respawns as a 4/5 with summoning sickness. Since he technically attacked that turn could you windfury him to attack again or does he just count as a fresh minion? I'd be inclined to say he counts as a fresh minion.
I just thought about this while cobbling a deck together, Injured Blademaster + Ancestral Spirit... 4/7 for 5 mana, while dealing 4 damage to something! Awww yeah!

most people can silence it

It's alright. I would probably only run one if I even wanted to run one. There are better cards imo for shaman is all.

Windfury does not come back after the revive o_o It's gone when the minion dies. He only comes back with Divine Shield and Charge.

Yep, and it immediately adds the flametongue damage onto your rightmost minion.

Uh no, windfury and charge are not connected in any way

Minions with summoning sickness can't attack. Windfury doesn't allow something to attack. So yes, you are right with your "decision".

I bet Al'Akir the Windlord was designed with the potential of ancestral spirit.
