After checking some insightful data at HSReplay, I checked a collection of legendary cards that have 0.0% use because they may be too weak and/or don't fit well in any deck archetype. Perhaps we need a little boost to some of them to spice up Wild a little bit. I have some ideas, you guys tell me if it would be great to see them be played.
I selected Legendary cards with 0.0% presence in decks in Wild according to HSReplay.
Hemet Nesingwary doesn't feel like a legendary tech card. Raising his health to 6 will make him more viable and would match Hemet, Jungle Hunter's stats, making him more coherent.
Remember Hobart Grapplehammer? Me neither! Perhaps if we add 1 use to our weapons we could see him more often. Would this be the boost necessary to make Hack the System finally viable?
Imagine opening a Wild pack and getting Ozruk as your legendary card. Oh my! It's less impactful than Kalimos, Primal Lord, so why should it cost more? 8-7 mana should be the ideal cost for this legendary elemental.
What do you guys think? Would you like to see more variety in Wild? I can redesign more cards if you wish to (hopefully) show them to any HS dev so they could do something about that?
The cannon master paladin legendary from forged in barrens got fucked hard by sword of the Fallen nerf. Shame. Same with watch tower summoning guy. And this is the new set!
I really like the idea of buffing old cards. Especially if they are literally being played in 0 decks right now.
I don't think it would be that hard for Blizzard to implement such things, and it could really shake up the game. Even if the cards don't become meta, maybe some people can have fun with them again. Seems worthwhile to me.
Unfortunately, poor Hemet may still not be playable with a better stat line due to his niche use, but it's a good start! The others seem good, too. Not too powerful, but much better.
Something like Rend Blackhand also is way too specific to be used at all. Not sure how to fix the mana cost or stat line, but definitely needs to read "if you're holding a dragon, destroy a minion" at least to be useful.
I imagine we can find many other cards that are at 0% play rate right now...
I like all of these ideas. My main pushback to this though would be that some of these terrible legendaries give us perspective on how far card design has come in Hearthstone. Some of them are also bad, but kind of funny memories - like when you finally hit the pity timer and it's Ozruk.
I think there's a really good underlying point though in your post: Printing bad legendaries is an issue. Team 5 has said many times that they want the player experience to be really positive/exciting when they see that orange glow around a card in a pack. When they print cards like Ozruk, this becomes much harder to achieve. I'm not saying that all legendaries need to be Tier 1, but they should all at least have a very unique and powerful effect. Ozruk and OG Hemet for example, just do not. Ozruk could be a common and Hemet could be a rare tech card nowadays.
Not really a change to a legendary card, but an elemental with something like: "give a friendly elemental lifesteal this turn." Would really give Baron Geddon the push for a decent control elemental deck.

Yeah, that has fallen into oblivion so easy after the nerf. Cannonmaster Smythe should cost 1 less to see play.

what about BG style? at least it's more fun
Hemet Nesingwary - Battlecry: Destroy a Beast (swap type each turn this is in your hand)
Rend Blackhand - Battlecry: If you're holding a Dragon, destroy a Legendary minion (swap rarity each turn this is in your hand)
Mimsy Were The Borogoves
wow thank you guys for your feedback. I feel like posting more often with more cool ideas. This could perfectly be a regular section!
