first game with Kel'thuzad, I had an 'amazing' hand (the mana curve on this deck is something else) but opponent kept up with answers. it was a long losing game since several (random and not) boardclears leading up to cheap legendary spam while my heropower kept rolling the kitty.
second game I got Rafaam. opponent conceded before I got to play.
third game as Kelthuzad, opponent played beyond horrendous. my hand was pretty eh, mostly 4-5 costs which is probably what the entire deck is made of. heropower kept rolling gargoyles and chow. I got beat down without really much of a chance.
at this point I figured that the new Kel's deck only chance was to beat down Rafaam before he gets all the boardclears and stocks up on legendaries, however the deck is not built at all to have any pressure, and the heropower is basically a waste of mana that can give anything from Echoing Ooze, Kitties and whatnot at a horrible rate, I basically never rolled a good thing from like 15 tries while my opponent was dropping legendaries. in short, don't dare joke about balance and Kel'thuzad having overall better cards. Kel has nothing like 0 mana removal and boardwipes followed by cheap legends.

I've won 2 games with kel, out of maybe 8.. so it is definitely possible
Only time I lost with Rafaam was when I was messing around and Shadowformed myself
I hope people on this realize that the only reason Rafaam is so good and Kel'thuzad is so bad is because everyone got upset about the opposite being true the last time An Evil Exchange was issued.
I thought that was the case. Do you remember what's different?
I believe Kel's power used to be "ressurect" basically if you didn't play any bad minions you could usually win by ressurecting any OP minion that you decided to put down.

Yup that's exactly what it was. I guess the decks are the same
Maybe next time they do this brawl they'll actually balance it out
A lot of people are saying that Kel is terrible but I've played 7 games as Kel and went 6-1. It may be a small sample size but in no way would I think Kel is auto-concede. Perhaps people need to try a new strategy? From what I can tell, if you let Raf build up a strong board, you will likely lose. Kel is the aggressor in this match-up, forcing Raf to spend time trying to clear your board instead of building up theirs. As long as you don't run out of minions, by using Kel's hero power, you can continue to apply pressure. Try not to leave yourself open to an AoE. Spend some time refilling your hand so you can rebuild your board after they use an AoE.
Cool add me and let's play and see how many Kel games it takes you to win once :D
My poor opponent ran his 5/5 into my 5/5 with the "only takes one damage at a time" ability. I was so glad they still had the sorry emote on these bosses right then and there :)

Rafaam's hero powers also were worse and the Staff Pieces used to cost 3.
Strange that people are complaining about balance on this one, played the brawl 6 times winning thrice with Kel'thuzad and only once with Rafaam. I do suppose it is luck based, but the decks seem pretty fair overall. Decent brawl.

Please be sure to update this comment once you've played a few more games and realized that it really is insanely unbalanced
I got the 5 Tavern Brawl quest on Monday morning and prayed for a decent TB. Then I saw this. Anyway, did my share of conceding with Kel and others were nice enough to concede when I had Raf, letting me get by the quest. I thank you all for that, really.
And no, it's not a good brawl at all. Done till next week.
Of course it's balanced - you get Rafaam in 50% of the times.
I wish this was true... got KT 7 times in a row, haven't had a chance to play Rafaam once.
EDIT:
Tried to logoff and logon back again... wouldn't you know it, this time got Rafa on 1st try, lol.
Anyway, was kind of fun to be able to play old cards I don't own and couldn't use even in Wild, but a totally frustrating experience in all other respects. Like others have said already, unbalanced, too long games, etc.
Y'know what really pisses me off? It isn't that KT's underpowered, it's that he's also just not fun to play. I love these types of brawls, and I love them because I can play ridiculous cards and do ridiculous things. The original Nef v. Rag, I still loved playing as Rag, though Nef was ridiculously OP, because I could play stupidly cool cards, like Golemagg. The first take on this one, playing as KT was great! You'd win one game in four, but you'd win it through a bonkers combo, infinitely resurrecting Gothik or whatever.
But this one? What can KT even do? Oh, I can play Mad Scientist and Feugen? I could do that in Wild! Hero Power? Just not interesting. Let's check out some of these unique cards... a 9 mana 2/5 that only does something if an enemy minion dies. Well, by that stage of the game the enemy minions are all legendaries, so that's unlikely. A 4 mana 0/5 with attack equal to the number of cards in my opponent's hand? How exciting. An 8 mana 3/3 that summons a 5/2 weapon that deals double damage to face - that'd be great if we didn't both have 60 health. A 4 mana 3/4 that summons a Chow (in my experience)... yeah, that'll do it. They don't even have unique voicelines! What the hell!
The emotes are amazing, I'll give Blizz that much. But that's only fun for so long.
Kel you have to get some combos going- and set up that guy who summon then buffs skeletons. Rafam has better hero power, but any synergy is typically RNG dependent.
played 3 games.

I was delighted to see they brought back the "Sorry" emote just for Kel'Thuzad!
LOL
Whatever they were planning this week must have fallen through. No way this was tested and played before deploying.

No balance at all. I always win with Rafaam and always lose with Kel T'huzad

Rafaam is much stronger, every game I've had him it wasn't even close, easy victory.
