The questlines weren't a bad idea in general, but the power level was too high. So they nerfed some and they might balance them more in the future if needed.
I think removing cards from standard is a bad practice, it's like admitting they messed up when they made the cards and can't figure out how to fix them.
Not everyone is using a questline deck these days, so I don't think it's right to banish them all from standard already.

Yeah I mean it’s not like o seen 80% pirate warrior last night there the other 20% using hunter Lol.
Is it not a good idea they remove the questlines earlier from standard like they did with the odd and even cards?
That probably depends on the next expansion. Baku and Genn dominated deck building and would potentially have done so for the full next year. So if quests were moved, it would probably be next year with the new year cycle. That said, there is only wild and no more HoF, so who knows.

They removed Baku and Genn because there was no proper way to balance them. Questlines, in the other hand, can be modified at will without losing their identity. Having said that, chances of them removing these cards from Standard are high, considering they are lazy as f..k! :P
Rotating the questlines early seems like the best course of action, but Baku and Genn were two legendaries eligible for refunds as opposed to 10 legendaries, which is a heck of a lot more lost revenue for them. I’m concerned that the devs might even be set on powercreeping the quests with the next expansion’s hero cards and consequently make everything worse than it already is. They’ve backed themselves into a corner and a hard reset is probably the only way out, the only question is if they would ever be willing to admit it.
To be fair the only questline I personally find broken is the mage one from the aggro player point of view. I had almost no victories with druid against such mage from diamond 8 to legend, simply either I draw the perfect cards for the perfect times and burst him (if he's slightly unlucky though) or gg. Once I got used to the pirate warrior one, I get around 70% WR against such. Others are not overpowered imo if you know how to play around their decks.

Hall of faming questlines would be a good idea, but they wont give us 16k dust for sure, so its not gonna happen.
