vs ele shaman - L (could have won if i drew any board clear other than one cannons though);
vs another control warrior - L.
Hi there. For some time, blizzard basically wants to force me to play warrior in some way. After I totally refused to play the pirate questline, today I got the Rokara hero card and said, why not, also have vanndar, let's give this one a shot. So what popped up is this one:
|Minion (13)||Ability (14)||
||Playable Hero (1)|
It seems quite enjoyable to play and to have some potential. I am not a great deck builder and would ask for more experienced opinions on how this one can improve. Only tested in casual, the statistics so far show:
vs pirate quest warrior - L;
vs another theorycraft control warrior - W, very interesting game;
vs quest mage - W;
vs quest druid - W;
vs another big warrior - L;
vs weird hunter - W (conceded on turn 2 for no reason);
Feels like it needs more aggro hold to me, dunno :)
If you think that a “top tier” deck will easily get you to legend you are either new to the game or quite naive… the matchmaking will make sure your win rate is kept at 50-52%. You win 9 games on average and lose 8 and the endless boring grinding begins
Generally true. Used to be true some time ago though. I am a returning player who played kobolds before stopping for over 3 years. I had some dust, just created aggro taunt druid and got to legend in 2.5 days. The game has become easier. At the moment (since the beginning of the month I didn't play 3-4 days at all) with no more than 2 hours a day gametime I am rank 2 diamond with a very slight deck upgrade (+1 annoy-o-tron -2 jerry rigs +2 squirrels, this one).
It's exactly that, create a "top tier deck" to make it work easy, not the most difficult/complex one. With the druid to legend straight from the bottom to top, mind that this is a deck that costs around 5k dust even less. After hitting legend, decided to try some stuff with other, non top tier decks that costed way more (some over 10k dust), it just didn't work. I understand the author's struggle with the pirate warrior, the meta got used to it, I have over 80% WR against such and there are already things to control it. So just a bad choice to hit legend straight away from 0 by just "buying" a deck. Saying it from the perspective of a person who also has the cards for the pirate warrior, tried it, just doesn't work that well (modestly will say that I have some idea how to play this game), it just isn't the patches pre-nerf pirate warrior that made people concede on turn 2 :)
I don't know about having fun but for a few games in the tavern I realised a combo (returning player, maybe someone else did this I dunno) but (umbra - this very situational and hard to accomplish but anyway)+greybough+plaguemaw+rivendare if not cleaned up appropriately at first place becomes something quite terrible for the opposing player. And quite fun for you if you like control. Now this is more fun.
I really hope I don't understand and I am the only one to think so but
I somehow think pirate warrior (if not nerfed correctly) and paladin will become (or remain) OP in a bad way using some broken mechanics, also DH has the chance of becoming the new cubelock. Every proper control new thing I read pushes me to the direction than alterac will be again Timmy's favourite expansion of dumb mechanics exploit on aggro tier 0 decks.
I hope I am wrong :)
This below was one of the best games I have played since I play the game, be it in a tavern brawl mode or at least the funnest. To begin with, 2 times me and this guy healed almost to the top 1-2 times. At one point I played greybough into spiritsinger umbra into a small minion to make 2 greybough. He stole one and multiplied it. Afterwards - about 10-15 turns the game was about "deal with the opponent's greybough" (this thing can get very very sticky) until I played rivendare and it went out of control. Great game, great opponent with only meaningful turns all the way :)
p.s. after the screenshot he popped up to 20 hp and there were more turns.
Indeed. That was what I meant behind this one, for as long as I play this game, always there have been decks that occupy the meta and certain decks (tier 1 again) to counter them. Therefore, if you mostly face this certain deck, just play its counter t1 and enjoy :)
tbh I have positive winrate against quest pirate warrior with taunt druid, about 60% maybe. From D5 to legend I almost only played them and quest mages and against warriors I almost had no loss. More after legend but yes, with a slower deck pirates can be a trouble.
This I hope will be the first thing nerfed. For years mage is always imo pushed by blizzard to have retarded overpowered decks all the way (last expansion I played before this return - kobolds though).
To be fair the only questline I personally find broken is the mage one from the aggro player point of view. I had almost no victories with druid against such mage from diamond 8 to legend, simply either I draw the perfect cards for the perfect times and burst him (if he's slightly unlucky though) or gg. Once I got used to the pirate warrior one, I get around 70% WR against such. Others are not overpowered imo if you know how to play around their decks.
Yay, thanks to those of you who reminded me I used to have another account, just hit legend with a single deck all the way for 2.5 days :D

The game actually hasn't changed too much for those years, just some different mechanics I realise. Again, aggro druid is cool as it used to be back then. Cheers :)
3 days ago decided to come back to the game after over 3 years out of it. Last time I played, the most fashionable stuff used to be the heavy taunt lock with the big voidlord and the aggro druid, odd and even decks were a thing, my enjoyable face hunter was trash. I realise this was many expansions ago. This was a time I enjoyed the game a lot, having some achievements around Legend, playing with a nickname (also on this forum, somehow I can't find my own registration) - Kur.
Now, the problem is that, when I logged with my email, of course, password forgotten, a blank game opened. None of my top decks, gold, dust, whatever is there anymore. Not a great deal for the decks, none of them is playable as I understand now, but I had quite a lot of gold to buy like many packs. Well, some new stuff like battlegrounds and mercenaries is there but I enjoy classics and now I have to play a not full face hunter (don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing face hunter since the time of the song "me go face") buth without the legendary wep and kodobane which is not cool. Is there a way to restore my old toon anyone knows?
