highlander hunter isn't that strong compared to DH.
....you do realize highlander hunter has had a higher win rate then DH ever since their second nerf?
Not in D4+ ranks. Hsreplay win rates and tier list are just wrong.
Aggro DH will still smash HL Hunter, it's just they won't do it on turn 4 as often. They still will but mostly they will actually have to play to turn 7 or 8. You auto win vs HL hunter simply by playing battlefiend + sidekick or satyr + sidekick. They have no answer so they just lose. The complainers will be the bad DH players who are stuck in low diamond who won't be able to adjust. They are out in force right now trying to hit legend before their nerf.
What you need to be worried about are the spell druids, not the hunters. Hunter is an expensive deck. Spell druid plays itself. Very easy, guaranteed legend.
Highlander hunter can have a good opening hand and there isn’t much any deck can do to stop it. I know there are several decks that the nuts draw means you win, but there are more cards that fit into the nuts for highlander hunter than others.
I think the most complaints will be about Res Priest because that deck counters hunter the best and nobody likes playing against it.

The decks that win vs highlander hunter also tend to win vs spell druid though. Specifically, I am referring to murloc paladin. It's a hard counter to spell druid and hunter can't deal with it without a really great draw or the murloc paladin getting a really bad draw. Another positive is murloc paladin does really well vs priest (I like to play decks that beat priest even if priest isn't a huge part of the meta just because priest players need to be punished!). It's very bad vs DH and warrior though but if the DH matchup becomes a bit better and falls out of the meta a bit, I think murloc paladin will be a nice counter to all the hunters and druids out there. It won't be too powerful either since people will still play warrior DH and highlander mage has a favourable matchup vs murloc paladin (although not an oppressive matchup). Rogue does ok vs it too, about 50/50.
Pirate warrior is also pretty reasonable vs HL hunter and stealth gala rogue is also favoured (the spy mistress really puts in work here). In legend ranks the stealth gala rogue is 60% favoured or so vs HL hunter. It's a very good matchup. In the lower ranks it's closer to even but that's because the rogues are running bad lists/not playing the matchup right there. HL Hunter is limited in both tech and what it can do to improve its matchup vs rogue without hurting other matchups. HL Hunter has a big problem with rogue going wide and its early tempo game. It also has issues in dealing with successive big threats so two big questings and an Edwin is hard to deal with (not to mention all the other threats rogue puts out). Stealth gala rogue with questings is even with spell druid as well.
tl;dr murloc paladin and gala stealth rogue may just be the deck to play if you want to beat HL hunter and spell druid. Mage is still good but the matchup vs HL hunter is really really bad.
People can complain, but since we are probably getting the next expansions trailer in 2-3 weeks, the usuall hype will start and everyone will forget about Highlander Hunter, Demon Hunter or whatever else. That's how it's always been. Moreover, even if someone complains it's highly unlikely we'll be getting another round of changes before the next expansion

Who knows, maybe some demon hunter buffs are in the future if the twin slice nerf is that extreme.

HSreplay winrates are not correct, alright. Tenthousands of games recorded daily.
Math likes to talk to you, especially stochastics.
Only because you feel it otherwise these numbers are not wrong. I hope you have hsreplay premium to see the real data for that rank.
And Spell Druid has too many flaws, feels unstoppable if everything comes out perfect for them. And they have a hard counter in the meta with Galakrond Priest. Even Control Shaman performs very well against them.

I'm not saying you're incorrect on this because I personally don't know the right answer but I see this exact claim of "HS Replay numbers are all incorrect" all the time between here and other forums and it has never been followed up with any information which backs up the claim.
Stats are only up to Gold rank where jank deck versions and bad players reside. Winrates are projected, instead of expected in an even field, so off meta (often aggro, on curve) decks get inflated winrates.

The meta is changing completely in two weeks when the new expansion drops.
Edit: Sorry, didn't realize this was an ancient thread.
Not so ancient, play 5 games now and all of them vs highlander hunter what is completely out of the charts broken with any kind of possible counter, from turn 1 to 10 the hunter player have the most powerful single card play in the game, why they nerfed DH, mage and rogue to the oblivion and this OP BS don't? I just can't understand.
The deck need to be nerfed now!!! Before the release of new expansion.

dude the expansion comes out in 2 days then we'll see if highlander hunter is super strong or just average

Well, hope 2 or 3 really strong aggro decks emerge to keep this beast into check but I not sure about it.
For now is absolutely invencible and unstopable except of course by another highlander hunter.
My only complain is why hunter can have Brann, Zeph, excellent secrets, insane beast sinergy, massively undercosted dragons but mage can't have a 6 manas dragon in hand dependent caster or rogue can't have after turn 7 0 manas cards, why only hunter can have everything without any compromises?
Calling it now, everyone got what they wanted with tempo DH being nerfed hard so no good counter anymore to highlander hunter.
so now everyone’s going to get rick rolled y highlander and claim it’s to strong. It’s a never ending circle to the D5 meta noobs haha😂

I agree Highlander hunter can be very oppressive sometimes!

Now we can target Hunter more and not worry about DH..Easy.

Nope, druid is worse.

That is true, the deck is absolutely broken, insanely overpowered and need to be massively overnerfed now.
